Obviously not as good as Amazon price on the prime day but may be useful for those who want to renew before the price hike.
On the same page you'll also find PSN CARD £35 for £30.99
PlayStation®Plus prices are changing From 00:01 BST on 31 August 2017 we are changing the prices of PlayStation®Plus.
- Annually, the price will change from £39.99 to £49.99 per annum. - Quarterly, the price will change from £14.99 to £19.99 per quarter. - Monthly, the price will change from £5.99 to £6.99 per month.
What this means for you
We will alter the price of a PlayStation®Plus membership at 00:01 BST on 31 August 2017. As you are an existing member, this means that all recurring subscription fees payable by you on or after 31 August 2017 will be charged at the new price. Up until 31 August 2017, you may purchase a PlayStation®Plus subscription at the current price, which will then be added (or “stacked on”) to your current membership period.
If you don’t want to continue with PlayStation®Plus
If you want to prevent your PlayStation®Plus membership continuing at the new price, you will need to cancel it – turn OFF “auto-renew” in your account settings at least 48 hours before your next payment on or after 31 August 2017 is due. There’s some guidance on how to cancel your membership on PlayStation.com.

Reading the comments it's because they were waiting for a code to be sent to them which is not how it works. You click on your order in your profile and get the code in there. It boggles my mind how people failed to figure that out. Ordered mine and got the code about 15 minutes later - delay was due to how slow the site is right now, suspect they are getting hammered for the deal.
There is already a thread for it, so I won't repost a new one. Hope this helps.

£10 on each account is going to bring in alot more cash for Sony, I would like to think that better games each month will now be made available and sooner than previously. To be fair July & August have been pretty decent so it's either a sweetener or things to comes.

30 Jul 17#52
Yeah, it's a large jump to come all at once. It would be a difficult call as to what comes across best. If there had been, say, a £2 increase each year, would that have been better received, despite being overall a larger increase?
VincentGO
30 Jul 17#51
Good answer. It is fair for Sony not to raise the price for so long and keeping their loyal customer happy but a £10 increment can considerably a huge jump.

Did Sony justify why they had put the price up?

Prices almost always increase over time, and Europe didn't get an increase at the same time as the US did last year. Also bear in mind that for the UK in particular, our currency is much weaker than it was only a few years ago.
From a quick check with an inflation calculator (based on CPI), PS Plus' 2010 launch price of £40 (which hasn't previously increased) is equivalent to £46 today, and that's before factoring in exchange rates and other factors. Use RPI instead and the inflationary impact is ever more marked.

If I buy say 5 years worth of playstation plus before 31st August and redeem the codes, does that mean I will avoid the price increase til the 5 years is finished?

I hope you all jumped on this before they lifted their prices! Stacked up to 2020, I was hoping they'd release some cool colab between Plus and PS Now and increase the price, but sadly not...

All gone now.. i had it in my basket, got distracted at work and forgot to purchase, now it's sold out at £32 :disappointed:
Sent them an email highlighting that the scan could be used for fraud and how email is not a safe channel to be sending such information. Gave them my phone number if they wanted to discuss it further..... code has just arrived

Funny how they've pretty much offered average (at best) ps4 content for years, then have a decent last few months then hike the price. I got a feeling Sept/Oct games and onwards will be poor.

Do people ever pay the RRP of £39.99 for PS+ in general? i'll always just searched for deals. I suppose it most likely go up by £10 in general across all retailers selling it sub £50 (i.e. £31.99 to £41.99)
