Work with IFTTT - brings everything together If This Then That ( or IFTTT ) is both a website and a mobile app that launched in 2010 and has the slogan "Put the Internet to work for you". The idea is that you use IFTTT to automate everything from your favourite Apps and websites to App-enabled accessories and smart devices. IFTT has become the ultimate automation service for small tasks between Internet-connected services. Whether on the Web or with selected Apps on iOS and Android, IFTTT can handle anything its member service "channels" support. When user-specified events occur, follow-up tasks are triggered and handled. There are numerous combinations ( also called "recipes" ) on IFTTT that can make your life easier. These links consist of just two elements: a Trigger ( If This ) and an Action ( Then That ) – For example, If you own a Xiaomi smart light, you could use IFTTT to automatically turn on the light every time you're tagged in a Facebook photo. In another example, you could set your light to be turned on, if motion is detected in your home when you're not at home.

quick question
If I put it in a ceiling light and don't switch it on for a couple of days, does it lose it's link (so stop working as a smart light) ?
or does it have to stay switched on at the light switch?

Yes they do work with GH however this needs to be set up via IFTTT. Its fairly simple to do, I purchased one to test it out a while back and have just ordered a few more. The only thing ill say, there is a minor lag from command to action but its not an issue.

Once you've enabled it, log out of Alexa and log back in. It should refresh the skil list. Once you enable the skil in Alexa, does it forward you to the mi log in page?

Managed to enable the skill but it doesn't find the bulb. Also I can only use the mihome app to use the bulb. The yeelight app doesn't find it.

I've got a colour one of these, and it's 600 lumens max, just like this one. It's pretty dim and I wouldn't recommend it for a ceiling light, but it might be good for a desk lamp or something smaller.

What to buy to connect these to bayonet fittings? Seems impossible to find Edison lamp holders in electrical distributors?
I would like to know that also anyone? Does it work with Google Home please?

So you don't need a bridge for these?
Which coloured one did you get please?
You can buy E27 to BC adaptors, they are only a couple of quid. Probably the easiest and cheapest way of doing it.

Do you know if you can control 1 bulb at a time through Alexa?
furiousjammin to sumpter
12 Jul 17#3
Yes you can. You allocate a name to each bulb in the mi home / yeelight app. Then you setup the yeelight skil with Alexa. Whatever your light is called just ask for that.
"Alexa, turn on living room light" or "Alexa, set bedroom light to 5%"
