Unless you're using VR which lets be honest is a big gimmicky flop that you won't use after the first week there is nothing wrong with a 1080p display across 5.5inches! I'm currently typing this on an iPhone 7 which has a meagre 326ppi and it's perfectly manageable over 4.7inches... this has 401ppi and will be perfect for 99% of users. I'd take the extra battery over unnecessary spec sheet d*ck measuring every day of the week when it comes to screen resolution.

1080p is fine... it's a 5.5" PHONE, not a 75" TV.

You forgot the long list of issue reported on the forum.
It is nowhere near as good as the S8, all it offers is a few milliseconds of speed on system apps. On games and CPU intensive task the S8 kills it.
You do know the OP5 has a screen that Samsung only put in their mid- budget range device's and you say almost as good. Read through the spec sheet and you will find a lot of hardware that is not in the OP5.
They are not even in the same class.

It a hardware issue and that has been confirmed by OnePlus.
They are using the same screen they used in the 3T and it has been inverted to make space for the new component layout.
There is no fix for this one, like there is no fix for not having OIS.

Anyone buying this device from anywhere other than official sources is bordering on insane.
Grounding is now the latest issue coming to light and people are returning the phone like there was no tomorrow.
And before someone says it can be fixed with a software update it can't, there is no fix for a electrical short only a build revision.
With a list of issues longer than your arm, your going to get burnt on this one.
I would suggest you go to the OnePlus forum and read through before you buy from a third party, especially one with no drop center in the UK.

Funny that the S8+ has the best screen by miles and also has the best battery life of all flagships.
No d**k measuring there just outstanding tech.

No matter who you follow, get yerself down to a game or 2 this year. The football is probably better than you expect and the extra £11 will matter to whatever ground you go to.

OnePlus used to be good with the first few iterations. Now they are just overpriced and greedy, they have offered little in improvement, yet prices have increased significantly.
Better options out there now.

They still provide the cheapest SD835 phone in the Western market. The starting price of the OP3T was £399 at launch so the OP5 is a £50 increase. Similarly Xiaomi's Mi6 was a 500RMB (~£55) increase in starting price compared to Mi5s. The key difference being SD821 to SD835 in both cases with barely any significant changes in other areas. Xiaomi had a bigger price increase compared to previous gen yet still provide low end phones starting at around £70. So I don't think the price increase due to SD835 is just a matter of greed. It's that the components cost more.

Nearly £400 for a phone is the reason I've avoided I-Phones and Samsungs. It may be top spec and last 3 years but for me a phone this price makes more sense on a contract.
Make no mistake, I'm currently using an Elephone P8000 from China, nearly 18 months later it's still nippy and well specced but I couldn't justify £379 for a phone any day.

I would just be worried with the support ... will they support or give uk warranty and if anything goes wrong cane we get it sorted via the official manufacturers

2 Jul 17#44
no, as it does clearly say 'no warranty'. which is why i personally wouldn't get this or any other high-value grey import chinese electronics
Thats the price with warranty £379.52 is price without warranty To avoid the warranty charge simply put United States as your country on the order screen then change it to UK on the basket page.

I don't know... I would prefer to spend £80 more buying it in the official oneplus store. In my opinion those extra £80 are worth since you will receive the unit in 2 or 3 days, you can return the device within 15 days if you don't like it and you got manufacturer's warranty (and not gearbest **** warranty)

Heat added as the cheapest it's been but as a massive fan of buying from China I have to say I personally wouldn't spend over 200 quid due to the no warranty issue. But i have to say this company seem to be copying Google's lead in getting away from the extreme bargains of previous models.

If you're new to the site there are discount coupons as well so can get $30 off.
Pretty sure they ship from China though so you'll most likely be paying VAT and import tax and this won't be cheaper than going through O2.

My Nexus 6P has a 2560x1440 WQHD screen with 518ppi. My Honor 9 has a 1080x1920 HD screen with a 428ppi. There is not obvious or discernable difference in resolution when using them. I tend to use my 6P for watching things only because it's a bigger screen and amoled.
At 5-6 inches all 4k does is waste battery and hog resources. I'd happily take a1080 amoled display over a 4k LCD variant anyday.

Had one since release... Great phone tho I don't recommend to all.. if you can handle a bit of lag or used to slower phones then the s8 is probably a better buy for the average person,
But it you want something with good battery butter smooth os near stock android that is a real alternative then I recommend.
Basically if your a nexus fan you will probably like the 5, if you don't know what that is just get a Samsung or a iPhone
