Speaking speculatively:
1) Either they think it's enough (it's also in the T&C) or maybe it could be to reduce the risk of fraud if you try to return something in store as the code will be shown with the email receipt.
2) To get you to spend money sooner.

Thanks for the tip tech...
I bought a product and got the £10 voucher code but be aware I missed the code imbedded in order email. I was waiting for the email with subject your voucher. So I missed the date but Argos were understanding and reissued another one be it valid for one week.
I dont understand
i) Why they don't send a separate email for the voucher
ii) Why is it not valid for longer.

The things I've been watching have all gone up as well. Works out more expensive even with the voucher. Cold.

Don't forget the tip for extending the life of the voucher. Buy something with the voucher and immediately return it for a refund. Argos will then issue a new voucher which lasts for 3 years instead of just 1 month.

Nice one, thanks for that  wish I'd have waited but it was an ex-display clearance so I couldn't miss the offers!

A 10% discount is pretty crap.
But this isn't even a 10% discount.
This is "Give us a big sum of money and we'll give you a tiny bribe for you to come back and give us another load of your money! Oh and by the way it's valid for less than a month so a majority of you won't even spend it!"
This
is the equivalent of an expensive restaurant offering "Buy a meal for four
and we'll give you one free can of Coke... next time you come back...
within the next three weeks..."
Completely ice cold.

Shocking! Even the 99p Panasonic Batteries are £2.99! (annoyed) (shock) (mad)

The vouchers have to be returned too if you return a product. Otherwise they'll deduct the voucher amount from your refund. It's buried in the t&cs.

Yep. Those £12.99 sensor bins have gone back up to £29.99 too. I bought a nest of tables yesterday for £24.99 and today they are £59.99!!!!

I spend £100 and get £10, can I make another transaction the same day and use the £10 voucher to spend £50 and get £5 back?
Many thanks.

Looks like they've increased the prices of everything in line with this 'deal' to offset the vouchers! Had 3 things I was ready to purchase all increase in price since yesterday. COLD.

Yep, I had my eye on a tablet at £99 last night. Today it has jumped to £119 and they have added a 'wow' symbol suggesting its cheap.

Same! Three sheds I were looking at have increased overnight - false economy really. One shed actually increased by 20%, twice the amount the vouchers worth.

It's OK but not good if u spend more in one transaction... exp if u spend 700 still u will get only 10 pound voucher and ofcource if u can't break in 7 transaction due to only one item.
I was waiting for this offers but t&c not suitable for me.
Good luck to others

Mines always expire. I never made use don't :disappointed: . After checking this deal, I found 5 £10 and 3 £5 expired vouchers in my wallet. I doubt Argos will reissue them

Check the Expiry Date on the vouchers as they are VERY short.

Buy something and part pay with the voucher. Return item and you'll get a new voucher with a better expiry date. Simples!

Why cold? It is basically 9% off at Argos which is reasonably priced and convenient for a whole host of different stuff.

How long is the voucher valid for?
tech3475 to Matababy
21 Jul 171#14
About a month by default.
A reported trick in the past was to spend it and it becomes a standard length gift card, e.g. buy a bag with it (5p).

What if you spent over £600... do you get 6 £10 vouchers or just the first £10 for the first £
100??
tech3475 to katombler
21 Jul 17#12
If you e.g. ordered a £600 item, you get £10.
But if you e.g. order 1x100, 1x300 and 1x200, you could get £30 in vouchers.
edit:
Make sure these are separate transactions.

Return it and buy again. Or buy one and return it with old receipt. Simple.
