Who said anything about me keeping my copy? I just want the game, and will just wait for Black Friday sales to come around so as to pick up a physical standard copy for around £15-20.

I placed my order with GAME yesterday (or so I thought) I went through the process and didn't receive any confirmation e-mail and there's nothing on my orders page, so hopefully Nintendo will honour this pre-order

Does Nintendo store take payment at dispatch or upfront? May be tempted by this. Loved Metroid II on the Gameboy back in the day (still have it)

I don't collect or even particularly like amiibos but I might have to get that metroid one.
We need the Get Item theme from Metroid right now. Who has a link to it on youtube?

I'm normally all over Nintendo collector's editions, but this one was a miss for me. £30 for a keyring, pin, soundtrack, art book and DLC code for a £3 game? No thanks.

Errr I didn't say anything about you keeping a copy. I just said that scalpers won't be able to scalp much with quantity limit. Didnt say u were a scalper.

Hate how hard getting these editions is, just punishes normal consumers. I was checking the site nearly all day after Game's stock was pretty much gone in minutes. Really hope this is like the Fire Emblem Echoes CE and gets more stock.

It's a 3DS game, if you shop around you can get it somewhere for that price. Hell it's on the Nintendo store for £35. I'll be waiting a few months for this one anyway, 3DS prices drop so fast these days

It's actually officially for the Mini NES, but same thing for sure.
Had been waiting for a pre order to bag it with giving free postage. It's in stock and expected to ship tomorrow, as the do ship and charge in stock items straight away
Pre-ordered but f**k me these are getting ridiculous. I actually wish Nintendo would do away with these Limited Editions. It's just becoming a scalpers paradise and lets face it, the stuff you get rarely warrants the higher price tags. The lack of Switch LEs on the horizon makes me hopeful (disregarding BOTW)

Honestly forgot about that - but it seems strange that most first party games aren't getting a special edition like Odyssey or Splatoon 2
MechaCrash
12 Jul 171#50
Nintendo just needs to be more proactive with their fans. They have frequent directs and big announcements for special editions (a whole 15+ minute segment for the BOTW CE for example), but then just drop them at a random time of the day with no warning...
They need to take a page out of limited run games book - explicitly state the number of copies they'll have, and when they'll go live. It wouldn't be all that much work, and it would help genuine collectors set aside the time to support the company and the games they love, not some low life eBay scum. Really doesn't help that both the GAME and NUK releases were during working hours.

12 Jul 17#53
Don't think Nintendo are bothered who is buying them as long as they sell. Doesn't make you special because you don't sell on ebay. Also doesn't make you low life scum because you do sell on ebay. Just because some people are smarter than you, you will have to get over it.
MechaCrash
13 Jul 171#54
It's nothing to do with "being special" or "being smart", its about taking people taking advantage of a rabid fanbase for profit (which is scummy), and Nintendo not doing enough to prevent that.
They would sell every single copy regardless, that's not even remotely up for debate. But if they're spending the time developing games for fans. Packaging them with items quote obviously designed to appeal to those fans. You'd think they'd want to ensure that fans are getting ahold of the product - not arm chair entrepreneur scalper.
Your tone is just unwarranted here. There's no justification for supporting scalpers.
