Good deal but the tpo one is £2.99 a month 30 day for 250 mins, unlimited texts, 512mb of data and no credit check either but i agree this is prob much easier to set up than tpo who seem to have a lot of problems! Heat added

Good deal for EE/8GB - £20 - beating GiffGaft 8am-midnight after 6GB at 256kbps is not even 3G at 384kbps. Terrible in my opinion. Sure Asda will clean up a few GiffGafters

have a look at how much cash GG made last year, we were with them for years and didnt realise how bad they were, as the speeds were just the speeds, around 1Mb hopeless. On the GG community when they announced their profits many wrote that wasnt it time they improved speeds, now give him some credit the MD wrote back, he said think it was £2 million profits allowed o2 to invest in the network, all good but for who, o2, tesco or now Sky, GG are at the bottom of the pile and members are leaving in droves.

I'm currently using giffgaff but the data speeds have plummeted again, plus the signal appears to be a lot worse across north Hampshire recently. So I'm looking for a decent alternative to giffgaff... Right now I'm considering Asda Mobile, TPO or id mobile. Given the bad experience that people seem to have had with TPO and id mobile, I'm tempted to go with Asda.

Last few months I've been on £5 bundle with 2Gb data, which was very good.
The only thing that beat it was a 12 month contract SIMO from 3 £9 for 4Gb. Think this is now £10.
Looks like I'll have to go to £7 for 1Gb.

Agree I have been with giffgaff for years and so are all my close family ,
But like all you guys have said the data speeds are pathetic now and EE is the only real option for us where we live.
So do asda provide the full data speeds EE offer or do they cap them?

Is your three contract a 30 day one like mine or 12 month.I thought you posted the Asda one as a 30 day bundle in effect same as mine on plusnet.

I was with Asda for a month, after my contract ended with Three. They where brilliant. Good costoms service and good data speeds. 20 Meg when I did a speed test. I only left as found SIM only plains cheaper for my needs.

It won't be full speed but should be ok, I say this as me and my mate did a speed test at the same time, I am on EE and he is on BT Mobile and I got 100mbps and he got 20mbps

On tesco its £5 for 1GB data next 3 months and better coverage than Asda because it uses O2. Next day porting of numbers.

the only problem I have with asda is that they do not allow premium calls and texts. I have £5 credit on my sim when I changed to a contract, and would have wanted to text a charity number to Give the money away... but cannot do this.

GG are not compete price wise anymore, they have not substantially upgraded their data quotas in years. I have an account balance with them unfortunately which I am currently working down so that I can change to Plusnet, with whom I have my broadband. Can't wait to get away from them.

for the more frugal people who dont call/text much: Get the FREE 200mb data reward sim from three , and just use their 321 tariff , I still get 200mb every month this way and spend maybe extra $0.5-$1 a month on the few calls/texts that I can't do through whatsapp (you can use the whatsapp from the free 200mb you got  )
