Excellent find! Bought one but I'm going to keep it sealed until the cooling off period is almost up, as I've got a sneaky suspicion they're either going to be even cheaper in the Amazon Prime sale and/or Nest are about to announce a 4th gen model which will bring the price down further.

I'm thinking getting nest or a hive are they easy to fit?
Cex don't sell anything 'new', it is all technically second hand.
However, often especially with this sort of thing someone has got is as a promotion from somewhere and traded it in straight away, so it is unused and still in its box etc.

Also lots of 5 finger discount items end up in CEX!
They offer 24 months warranty on items which is pretty impressive for secondhand electricals etc.

I read somewhere that these can be tricky to install yourself.
Hive supposed to be easier to fit but Nest are slightly more sophisticated.
I have neither, nor do i have any affiliation to either.

If you can follow basic instructions and maybe research your boiler along with takeing your time they are easy to install, but if you want to look up a nest Pro in your area (I'm one) you will find lots and they will be happy to install for you

When companys go bust 1st place they think of for instant money is CEX. Theres also traders that lookout for offers on zavvi, hmv and so on to trade in. When goldeneye came out on wii i ordered 10 copies to make £5 on each one. As their delivery got delayed and the price dropped i was making £1 loss on each one.

Bought a Nest Gen 3 a few months back.
A local Nest Pro installer wanted £140 to fit it, said it would take 1/2 a day. Thinking that was expensive I phoned up a local electrician, who quoted me £60 and an hours work. Guess who I booked

I got one of these. It's class it's knocked about £15 a month off my gas bill so pays for its sell after a year. I paid £169 plus £25 for stand so it didn't need fitted to a wall.
Cost is down to your current set up. If you have a wired one already it's a straight swap, pretty easy. Mine was wireless thermostat cheap Baxi one, so easy fit as it's just replace the sensor on boiler with nest one. Cost me £40 through proper nest installer. Phone around loads, most are standard £60-80 but some do it cheaper.
It's expensive when you want a fresh wired one installed.
The stand I think is best put it on a book shelf or something.
This is a bargain £125 it will pay for itself after about 10 months.
It's th way it heats your house, my last one was 30 second delay before on and off , this is instant.
Tracks your phone so turns off if you leave and learns when you want it on and phone, learns your schedule. Must have for anyone who likes gadgets. And looks good.
