Just to put it in context - 150 pods from Lidl = £22.50 Milk Frother & coffee grinder combo - £30 Total = £52.50 vs £55 for the Nespresso deal Prob. is worth spending the £55 on the 150 Nespresso Pods for the milk frother... The Nespresso Pods are prob. worth the extra £2-3....as they are better quality.

Hi what coffees are people getting as I'm new to nespresso?

I bought my machine from Currys yesterday, ordered the 150 Lungo selection with free frother and travel mug. This all arrived today. I made sure I registered my machine using a different email address.

So you got the free gift too, you got a good deal!
MRGRINGO
28 Jul 17#58
Noticed on nespresso club site that the free gift when you buy 150 pods is a mug thing or dispenser. No further. £50 for 150 pods too. Is that right?
rakshai to MRGRINGO
28 Jul 17#60
Sounds right for the welcome pack. You will need a code to redeem offer for free aeroccino, if there was no bright blue card in the box then you need to call Nespresso for them to help you.
MRGRINGO
28 Jul 17#57
Hmmm. Mine arrived from amazon. Bought new. No redemption card inside. Wasn't 100% sure that its new. Machines brand new but no plastic bit on plug or wrapping on wire. Box wasn't sealed. Hnmmmm.

are these nespressos better than the lavazza mio machines?
rakshai to tom6195
28 Jul 17#56
All depends on personal preference but Nespresso does have a far greater range of coffee's (24 plus limited editions) and 3yr guarantee, Modo mío has approx 12 and only 2yr guarantee. At this price and with this deal you really can't go wrong with Nespresso.

If they're used then they won't have the redemption card inside. Redemption card has a scratch panel to reveal code to input at checkout on Nespresso's website.

If you want the frother deal by buying the 150 pods, the unit needs to be brand new,so saving a few quid on the warehouse deal will exclude you from this...

27 Jul 17#52
I checked with the club, even if you add the welcome offer you will not get the free gift, only the aeroccino but still get free delivery. Let me know if you get the free gift though, interested to know if it worked or not.

Good deal as the welcome offer is meant to be excluded as part of the promo. So if you got it and anyone else does, even better!

its the first time registering on the nespresso coffee club for me, so when I registered my machine there was a welcome offer, if you buy one of their pod bundles you get to choose a free gift. And it just showed free delivery. Then on top of that I put in the code for the aerocino that came in the box and that added to my basket for free :-
Mich82
27 Jul 17#46
My first nespresso so not registered on their website before. So, for £49 for the machine on Amazon I initially got 16 fee pods in the box. Then, registering online I spent £50 on the 150 pods and I got a free aerocino, free travel mug and free delivery :-)
rakshai
26 Jul 17#45
Also I'd advise purchasing 200 capsules as you get free delivery otherwise on 150 it's £4.95. The difference will be about £10, so an extra 50 coffee's for approx £10 instead of about £15 (£20 inc del). Example 150 caps approx £50 + £4.95 delivery = £54.95 200 caps approx £65 + free delivery =£65 Diff is £ 10.05 Normally 50 caps £15, inc del is about £20 Hope that makes sense!

26 Jul 17#43
Yes you can, the models on offer are the same. I think online you'll have to submit a price match request but if you can go to a store they'll do it there and then after double checking currys website.

26 Jul 17#44
I spoke to Curry's Sales chat and also read the Terms and Conditions. When you buy from one of the approved retailers (so I guess the ones that have the offer), a card with the offer will be included in the box. You can then claim the offer on Nespresso's website!
Ordered mine, from Curry's! Thanks

I see, they should have just called them especially if the employee is Nespresso! Only 4 store in store in U.K. Selfridges London, Birmingham, John Lewis Kingston and Peter Jones-Sloan Square. Can I ask what store this was?

Neither, internally they are exactly the same machine. Just depends on colour and slight external design difference (brew head nozzle, drop tray pattern).

25 Jul 17#32
I saw one of the employees do it at a small store (this wasn't a full on store, it was a branch in another store). Asked them about it and they said Nespresso hasn't been collecting from them. Not sure if that's still the case now
jdo88
24 Jul 17#31
I can't imagine that nespresso store is throwing out recyclable capsules must be contaminated bags. Also they pay for postage on collection of capsules and the capsules are aluminium so that would be bad business sense. As for a step up from instant that's an understatement but a step down from hipster cafe don't agree at all.

Crackin entry level machine for the price. Have been using nespresso machines for the last 7 years and can't wake up without my morning Fortissio Lungo.
I don't claim to be a coffee connoisseur but the nespresso machines tend to have the highest bar pressure for capsule machines which i think is what makes the coffee taste best.
Run through a few cylinders of water with Oust de-scaler every 6 months to keep the coffee tasting good and the machine healthy though. Probably want to do every 3 months in hard water areas.

This is not an amazingly amazing deal I got the machine for £59 plus £75 worth of vouchers and they reran the promo the next year. However Nespresso must not now be getting the repeat locked in business for their 30p pods as you can get loads of great pods from places like the lidl or even home and bargain for 17p each or even 10p each at home and bargain, which you couldn't do when I bought the machine. Definately better than Starbucks or Costco. Maybe check out ebay/gumtree for a used machine IMO they are quite well built and reliable despite being plasticly. Sometimes the lidl or aldi do milk frothers for 19.99.
rakshai
23 Jul 17#27
Better than chains Costsa, Starbucks etc, subjective to personal taste of course, perhaps not as good as independent artisan coffee specialist shops. Also Nespresso do recycle their capsules, what's your source for some branches just throw them out? I'm intrigued.
sevstein
23 Jul 17#26
Really good coffee if you would normally drink instant.
Really terrible coffee if you like drinking hipster coffee shop coffee.
Also, Nespresso don't actually recycle the pods most of the time, as some branches just throw them out.

£125 is a great price for that machine, normally £199-£280. The Lattissima is one touch fully automatic so can't really compare to the above machine. Also, you should have got 16 capsules in the box to get you started.
