Hi op. Did you actually go in store and buy this "off the shelf" or did you order it into store from their website? It now says out of stock online but I'm wondering if I travel to my nearest store they may have a few in there. My nexus 5x died yesterday after just over a years use. Not happy!

I can't decide which to get moto G5+ or the Lenovo P2, both are £199.99. Anyone know which has the better camera?

The G5+ has a significantly better camera compared to the P2. The P2 camera is worse than the one on the normal G5.

The P2 camera is its weak point according to other threads on hukd. Conversely the camera in the g5 plus is very good.

Depends what you look for in a phone. The camera on the g5 is in a different class to the P2.

I have had a Moto G4 plus for almost a year, it is dual sim, 4gb of ram and 64gb of storage.
Only ever missed having a compass once when we were walking about in London and then we just used the wife's phone.

They are not perfect for a satellite, but give you a very good guide. You have to let the compass settle, and take an average position, IYSWIM.
I managed to line up a dish last week with a phone - got the compass bearing from the phone, then adjusted the elevation very slowly. Then tweeked the bearing again, retired the elevation etc until I picked up a signal.

Are compasses in phones good enugh to point at a satellite? Mine swings around all over the place. Anyway you also need to angle it.

Shows a silly side of hukd, this has gone much hotter than the cpw deal at same price but with £10 cash back on tcb for cpw SIM free phones.

I have this phone (bought direct from Motorola so its the dual sim model) and in a recent trip to New York found the lack of compass frustrating - I had to be good at figuring out which way I was facing after coming out of the subway to know where to head when following the map. Otherwise day to day I don't notice the lack of compass - its a great phone otherwise - much better than my previous Nexus 5x.

I have the G4 Plus - absolutely love it EXCEPT it has no compass.
So many times I have needed one and regretted not having it.
For instance, Sat nav, when I have been walking round, I've ended up going in the wrong direction as it didn't orientate properly.
Wanted to point a satellite dish, but couldn't.
While I'm not bothered about NFC for instance, the lack of compass really annoys me.

Well yeah, it orientates the map, to take any user to their front door, from any location, even without internet
silverblueray
12 Jul 17#8
Well it has many uses, as it expresses the phones orientation through the fields X,y and z. So for instance if I'm cycling, it accurately shows which direction I'm going, ie the right direction on the map. Also orienting maps, to follow the direction you're going, if I move east, the map will change to the direction I'm facing automatically.
It's in the American version of this phone, don't know why it was taken out of this one.

sat nav for one.,,otherwise in slow-moving traffic, the unit will suddenly think you're travelling the other way and reroute. Absolute PIA and the only reason I didn;t go for the Moto G5 or G5+

NO, only Moto Online store sells the Dual Sim G5 Plus for the UK. I made the mistake of getiing the CPW one only to find out it was Single Sim. Luckily they have 14day cooling off so could return it after opening the box.
