From what I've read, the step tracker is on point, same with measuring deep sleep.
Only issue is when measuring the heart rate, you need to be incredibly still to even get a reliable measurement.
But for the price you can't really complain.

Is banggood any good? I tend to use Aliexpress for products like this and what is tax like? I assume seller undervalues but still safe to ask.

I've used banggood plenty and I've got the feeling that they are trying hard to earn and keep a good reputation. They have been exemplary, I can have no complaints.
I think the value of this item is too low to worry about tax/duty.

Spot on. I had readings taken Consecutivly of 45 (consult a doctor), 88, 55 and 122.
It's nice for set count and notifications. Battery life is freakishly long.

Its very good I have one, and great for the price, I have my phone on silent all the time as this tell me who ringing me and if I get a text or face book message, and battery lasts for over a week or two

Ditto, very useful for notification. I got the Mi Band Tools app from the Playstore, that allows some extra customization too.

i got one of these last week .Heart rate is a bit hit and miss seems more hit than miss though  . Step counter seems accurate ive not really done a test but matches up with S-health to within 200 steps over a day . Txt alerts are handy as are the other other alerts u can set up . The missus got a weloop on prime day from amazon and its a lot better than the mi band as it has scrolling txt so u can read messages instead of just notification but you get what you pay for and im happy with my mi band2 Hot from me op  .

Funny, I woke up this morning wondering whether I should have ordered one for a friend. Done now
Ended up paying in $ rather than £ for some reason, but probably related to paying on mobile. As someone said above, code 20mibd2 still works.

Steps are count according to your arm movements. So if you wave your arms about, it count as steps but even if you walk for miles without moving your arm (pushing a pushchair for example) your steps won't be counted.

Just bought one last week, from Amazon, because I'm impatient and wanted next day
Recommended Apps:
Tools & Mi Band • Application notifications (configurable per application as well as globally). • Continuous heart rate monitoring & notifying, configurable heart rate dashboard charts • Power Nap feature (need a short nap? Just activate this and Mi Band will wake you up by vibrations when you're done resting) • Sleep as Android Integration (Official Support) + Much more (click link)
These 2 apps really boost the usefulness of the band and their features are far in advance of Xiaomi's own, especially the continuous heart rate tracking.

The problem I found that it don't record nap times.

Heartrate is pretty good if you take a few readings. When you set the app to "exercise" and do a workout it takes more or less continuous readings and the resultant heartrate graph looks pretty accurate to me.
Great band, and amazing battery life

Also when I get it shall I bind it with my Microsoft Lumia 950 or my samsung s8? I was told I can only bind with one device.

I bought some laser engraving equipment from them in pieces over a number of orders and the delivery was as quick as 5 days on one occasion but usually nearer to 10 working days. One item was 3 weeks.

They usually have an edit images shipping date. They ship all orders on this day however tracking can take a week to appear.
Expect weeks over days

it's brilliant, it is reliable and works well. It's heart rate sensor isn't great admittedly but in terms of everything else I honestly can't knock it. It tells me who is calling and who is messaging, it gives me the content to my texts and whatsapp messages and allows me to skips my tracks. The app interface is actually pretty good too.
