Yep - that's the normal way of getting these codes. This post entitles you to codes without having to spend hundreds on insurance first.

There's no mention on compare the meerkat of whether it qualified or not prior to purchase of the travel insurance thus why I asked as obviously you'd all know if you'd succesfully manage to activate it post purchase. In the toc's travel insurance waa listed for the Meerkats Movies but not for the Soft Toys. Thank you xxx

You shouldn't need to wait - if you login and click on "claim your reward" it should ask for the policy details and you should be then taken directly to your first code.
If you are still having trouble, contact them and they should sort it out for you.

Oh I see! I think for a legitimate qualification you would need to buy a new policy from scratch through Compare The Market.
However, I have heard that people are logging in to their account, clicking "claim my reward" and entering their policy from last year - and getting access to Meerkat Movies! I can't recommend this as a course of action, but some people here have commented that it works.

and no - you can book four tickets at the same time and using both meerkat codes. You can use as many as you like, as long as there is the proper number of fully-paid tickets.
bulletfoss
23 Jul 17#44
That's right - no fee on the door.
FYI - Cineworld only charge 70p for online bookings (even that is a disgrace though)

for the sake of £1.55 to be able to do this yourself for a full year without asking for codes, well worth it.....and I barely ever go to cinema (cos I'm a tight git). Makes the price a lot more reasonable
Midnight.Tboy
23 Jul 17#37
I see (on Vue at least) that can just add both codes to be able to get them both together at least. 3 quid handling fee a bit of a rip when its only £10 for the 4 tickets themselves. Am i right in thinking there'd be no handling fee if just bought tickets in the cinema on the day itself?
Midnight.Tboy
23 Jul 17#36
right - bought 2 accounts - and got codes Will have to look at whats on for this Tues/Wed soon when get back :). If booking online, will this mean will have to make 2 separate cinema bookings I'm guessing, rather than being able to just book 4 at once

23 Jul 17#35
Cheers,
I sort of get you on the 3d, it depends on the movie though. I hated Rogue One 3d, but animated stuff I love it, but I still feel that my first viewing of a movie should be 3d where available

Wondering if anyone could help please...I have a current 2 for 1 membership that's due to expire, I would like to renew the 2 for 1 for another year. Do I have to cancel my existing pet insurance policy and either rebuy through the same or a different provider to get it again? Or will the honour it as I bought it through them originally?
Thanks
bulletfoss
23 Jul 17#33
I think you get the meerkat movies means you don't have to pay the supplement again, but you do have to pay for glasses. 3D is rubbish anyway, washes all the colours out.
bulletfoss
23 Jul 17#32
Evidently not!
Midnight.Tboy
23 Jul 17#31
Thanks. Applies to 3D movies too or just as partial payment?
Edit - "Additional supplements will be chargeable for 3D films and premiere seating or auditorium experiences. " - presume its a "pay the difference for both tickets"

It works at all VUE cinemas. A code only entitles you to a single extra free ticket. You would need another code to get another free ticket.
Midnight.Tboy
23 Jul 17#28
just to check...
1. Does this work for all Vue cinemas? or just select ones? 2. As we are 2 adults and 2 kids, does this mean we'd have to sign up to 2 lots of insurance, one my name on in my partners? 3. Do we get 2 for 1 on 3d movies too?

Can u book seats online with this? I dont like crappy seats, would never pay at the cinema and be stuck somewhere crap, really ruins the movie.
ghostm4n
23 Jul 17#18
Purchasing the insurance policy gives you a 1 year membership to Meerkat Movies. During that year you can get a code (there is no charge whatsover) once a week that can be used on either a Tuesday or Wednesday for buy one get one free. That's it. I do this every year, for both me and my wife, so between us we can get 4 tickets for the price of 2 if we want.
There is a Meerkat Movies app for most smartphones, which will give you your code instantly., and you can also book online with these.

Will the codes work with a carers card please
SeraphXii
23 Jul 17#15
If anybody here has a legitimate disability, you're entitled to apply for a CEA card. Which, among other things, permits someone to enter the cinema with you for free (essentially 2 for 1) I mention it here because generally there are a large amount of people unaware that they're entitled to this. It's about £6 or so for a year, but can be used 24/7 during that period. Hopefully this helps a few people out. ceacard.co.uk/

D'ya know, sometimes one shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. I regularly use Compare the Market every year for home, car, motorcycle and travel insurances. The two for one movies is a great incentive and draws me back. Just booked IMAX tickets to go watch Dunkirk next Tuesday. I'm a pensioner and the £12 saving is most welcome. I think these wide-boy tactics are sometimes self defeating. If everyone used your trick the company could not continue with the offer and a great deal would be gone. This is one of those deals that is worth playing the game for. It's long standing and rewards customers. It's a pity more companies don't do this - maybe they don't for this very reason. Everyone needs insurance of some description, just play the fecking game straight and we all benefit for longer rather than living for the moment.
