I heard their food also contains Dihydrogen Monoxide

Used the £1.99 Quarter Pounder and fries voucher yesterday at self service (23645745). What's more I even got them to dress it as a Big Tasty for me free of charge.
These vouchers are a godsend if you don't care about your heart exploding or your withered colon flopping out of your rectum like a deflated balloon.

With the McDonalds receipt survey, can you have something else instead of the Big Mac meal?

Technically, no - but asked nicely somebody might agree, provided they can get the code through the till.

For God's sake! That was written nearly 10 years ago, and is completely out of date. It has no relevance now whatever - check this out and compare it with any other similar foods on sale in restaurants or supermarkets:
McDonald's is no worse than any other establishment. It's not perfect, but who is?

Who cares if it is full of additives?

couldn't get it to work today (the barcode in post 1) - not recognised, presumably too dark
anyway, I had a slightly unsalubrious experience - I ordered my son a couple of burgers to take out then went for a jimmy riddle
when I came back, 3 greasy unwashed looking skanky people had stolen the order and were tucking in
not wanting to get knifed for £2.98 I just asked those nice McD people to replace them, obviously foc
the poor girl said she was going to go over there and tell them off/ throw them out - but didn't do any such thing whilst we were waiting for the new order, I don't blame her

This is not relating to the deal, and you should have WENT over there and got your burgers back. Maybe stand up for yourself?!

I was referring specifically about your comments regarding the fries, which are pretty much just potato with a bit of sugar. The next article you refer to is 9 years old? Macs have had a major rework of their ingredients since then. Again, good to know when deciding where to eat. Not an apologist for Macs, not trying to say their food is healthy, but the industry has made changes for the better.

I hope you're right about this chemical. But research of The Independent came to the conclusion that McDonalds food in Britain is full of additives. Here is a quote: Richard Watts, head of the Children's Food Campaign at the food group Sustain said: "We are very concerned that about the heavy use of additives in McDonald's especially the ones identified as harmful to health in the Southampton study." http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/news/on-the-menu-at-mcdonalds-78-additives-some-may-be-harmful-767533.html
Again, it's good to know this when deciding where to eat, especially with your family.

Not really relevant unless you are eating out with your children in the States. You won't find that chemical in any UK Macs
Good to keep in mind when you decide where to take your children for eating out.

Next time please take the time to politely ask for the managers details and forward it to McDs HQ. You would have revenge by stopping his momentum in managerial roles. You would stop anyone having the same experience.

Yep, I got a very stroppy assistant manager who caused a scene and threw the 4 meals and ice creams that I'd bought away at the Guiseley McDonald's in Leeds. Bit pointless. Worked no probs at other branches though.

I've never been asked before, now you've got me worried about my next visit! Though I usually have a voucher, albeit a 'not valid at a restaurant with drive-thru' one.

I can confirm that they do require you to provide the voucher upon collection. I imagine that this is due to another deal of this nature where everyone was getting cheap Big Macs
Just keep a receipt in your wallet with the 2 minute survey completed and get a big Mac and fries instead!!

this, except no need to do the survey just write 5 digits on it,

and for this reason i vote this offer cold

no, med fries are £1.09 (large are £1.39)
my local also requires you hand over the voucher or they wont give you the food, but i have found this to be store/server dependant, ive found theres less chance of them taking the voucher in the drive-through cause sometimes they forget to ask for it when you get to the 2nd window to pay

Blimy - I thought they would have been something like 80p, but must admit that I don't enjoy the fries so much (prefer "propper" chips  ).

I think medium fries are £1.49. So you're saving £1.
Also OP in many McDonalds they will request the voucher when you go to collect your food and will not handover your food until you've produced the voucher. Just a word of warning for some.

Sorry cold as it's prob not much more to buy it than £1.99 anyway as the double cheeseburger is £1.49 on its own without the fries.
Also if you fill out the survey on the receipt anyway you can get a Big Mac and medium fries for £1.99 (may even get a receipt to fill out for something like just buying a ketchup as I know I get one with the loyalty coffee for filling the 6 stickers on the card to get a free coffee).
