If it truly shares 2.1 amps across the two USB's and you connect two devices at the same time, you'll probably get really slooooow charging as many modern devices need a minimum of 2.0A, but will only be getting 1.05A each.
- IPads need 3.1A
- Higher end devices with Quick Charge 3 will accept a maximum of up to 4.6A (from a specialised charger).
- My Moto Z takes 5.7A (from a specialised charger) and would probably not fully charge overnight if a second device was plugged into this socket.
Check your devices charging needs before purchasing this to avoid disappointment.

No. You must wire the Live to the Earth, Neutral to the Live and the Earth just chop it off or connect it to the hot water supply or TV aerial. Don't forget to check the circuits by putting one foot in a bucket of water and touching all the terminals at once. If the water starts bubbling you have it correctly wired. Job done you have mastered Electricianary.

Same problem with this socket. It's 2.1 amps shared between both USB sockets. So you can't expect decent charging speeds if you plug 2 devices in. These might be of more use to permanently power low wattage devices like a Chromecast or a nightlight.

Why is this hot. They are very few and far between. None in the North East of England for the past 3 weeks when they were first published. Cold for me.

Does these sap voltage if they're all being utilised at the same time? I've had a similar issue with multi USB adapters

Good option if you only have a single socket but obviously since they tend to be older, it'll be harder to get these in with depth issues. I'm not one for buying integrated USB plug sockets in (I have enough 2A plug adaptors) but this is a real good price if you can get one.

I purchased one of these a few days ago and ended up taking it back. The unit was thick and requires a spacer or the inner box in the wall need replacing.
I decided to purchase the slim fit and newer version from toolstation as I never wanted to use spacer making the socket stand away from the wall.

Even my older Nexus 5 could take up to 2.4amp and my OP3 takes 4amps through the dash charger. So these sockets are a bit out of date if you ask me, not worth the hassle really.

Yes but you *might* find your backbox is not recessed enough. Many of these with USB come with a shim to stick out further because of this. Screws, you just can't see em on the picture as they have screw covers.

The socket from Toolstation was a few pounds more but well worth it.
