How is this cold? It's the best selling of it's category and the cheapest it's ever been. I've been waiting for it to hit less than £40 so when I got the CamelCamelCamel alert I ordered right away - arrives this evening.

This is hot given it's normal price, but that's the point, the normal price is ridiculous. It's just a bulb attached to a timer that probably cost a few quid to make at most. At £30 it's just about worth it, but only to save me the hassle of making my own. Ordered, but this should be the regular price.

Had a lumie for years, they're great. Especially in the winter when it's more difficult to wake up. I'd buy one of these too, but am used to having a 90min setting.

I have the Philips one when it was on sale (£40), I still feel the Philips one is a bit plasticky and not really worth it in terms of material used and complexity of features, this product looks inferior..
The reason why its expensive is because of this:
"Bodyclock Starter 30 is a certified medical device
Bodyclock Starter 30 is certified to the Medical Devices Directive EC93/42. It has been designed for a medical purpose, to help with SAD syndrome (Seasonal Affective Disorder), winter blues and other physical difficulties with waking and sleeping. As a medical device, it conforms to European manufacturing standards and carries the correct CE mark. Lumie Bodyclock has been tested and proven effective through clinical trials."
These compliant tests are fairly costly and time consuming.

Bit of a let down in the sound dept. Would have liked some natural sounds emerging with the light...woodland birds for instance. Seems you get a 'beeper' which is also apparently quite loud. So it gently wakes you up or scares the chit outta you!
