It's not a huge bonus, but if you are looking to buy something on Prime day anyway (I am if certain things hit the right price point) it's an extra bonus.
Seems to be a promo for their 'top-up' service i.e. store money with them to make future purchases.
Invitation only though - not available to everyone. The link should have a button on it you can click to see if you are eligible.

Annoyingly not eligible, frustrating as I have lots of items on order that would benefit. Had the £5 for £100 late last year but would have thought I'd be eligible again by now, anyone else who had it before know how long until you are eligible again, if ever?
Tempted top go on to CS and complain, see if they can do it manually for me or something, doesn't seem fair that you have it once and never get it again, it's only like 5% anyway :disappointed:

No idea - some people object to people getting free money?
Ok not everyone is eligible, but that is clearly stated, and is Amazon's decision. And it's not a huge bonus, but it's still something for nothing if you use Amazon anyway - not sure why people think that is a bad deal.

My 'invitation' was a very small little banner ad on the front page earlier today - very easy to miss. Not sure if that's the same for other people... Unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot of that to show.

It means that refunds and returns will be credit instead of money.
Stores encourage gift cards instead of money for good reason, it's a trade-off for customers. If it weren't for a top-up bonus they don't benefit anybody except the retailer at all.

Cheers OP... Had to top up by £100 to get mine, but was able to instantly use the £105 to pay off part of an order that's waiting to dispatch. It was already a bargain (1080ti), but this just sweetens the deal

Mine was £80...glad I ignored the previous offer they kept trying to seduce me with (£100)....topped up £85 (yes I know more than I had to but would cover the order I was placing anyway) and instantly had the extra £5 added....then purchased the Amazon Echo and some very exciting non-slip icing bags that were an add on-item that I'd been holding off buying until there was something I really wanted to make the order up to £20 and now Amazon have paid for them for me with the £5 credit and also got the £2.99 delivery credit for the Amazon Pantry Box offer applied after purchase...so a win all round for me :innocent:

This is awesome - just got my extra £5  - Thanks OP! Does anyone know if this stacks? I still have a banner ad saying i'm eligible to top up when i click "manage your balance".. if i follow it, it still says "you have successfully registered" .. & it still allows me to proceed to the top up page..
i don't hit the button and load up another £100 though if its not going to be of benefit, as i'll probably just spend it
Any thoughts?

just be aware that availing of this could effect your eligibility for similar future offers when it's more than a fiver bonus.
