That's ridiculous the photo proves its faulty - loosing all is charge in a really short time!
I suspect the reason a lot of us have received open box's with seal removed is because they are swapping the genuine chargers for fake imitations. My charger vibrates internally when you flick it with your nail - implying its built to a poor standard internally. Genuine chargers don't do that.
Another issue I've noticed is there is no Mirror Link support on this particular dual SIM model - though that's not really an EGlobal fault.

I've got 2 dead G4's just sitting around too. One was from Eglobal the other was bought in the EU. No help from LG or Eglobal - really miffed and trying to get over it. As I paid with Paypal, there's not much you can do after 6 months.
Really was one of the best phones to date which makes it even more annoying.
MoDo613
20 Jul 17#63
Had very good experience with SquareTrade actually - but no use for those who've already bought from EGlobal. Does anyone know if companies like GadgetInsurance.com will cover these phones - their terms state ambiguously "must have been purchased by you in the UK, Republic of Ireland or from the US" which isn't clear if the purchaser has to be in the UK or the retailer! But it's cheap insurance at under £30 annually.

20 Jul 17#61
I mentioned it on the occasion of the previous "Hot" LG G6 from eglobal. They have listed LGs on Ebay and they come withh an option to subscribe for 2-years SquareTrade (warranty) insurance, extra 69GBP though. Anyone considered this option ? I am not sure if SquareTrade covers 'grey import' products. In their terms and conditions I found : • For new items your period of cover is contingent on having a valid manufacturer’s warranty. If the insured item is not covered by a manufacturer’s warranty but has been declared as “new” we reserve the right to cancel your policy and issue a full refund.
If that worked it would be better than S75, but unarguably more pricey. As for S75 I did small research, including reading S75 itself. I would say in not 0-1 situations it is very slippery road. To use S75 and have it accepted by CC vendor first you need to exhaust all options with the seller. This might be not to easy, if you read some negative comments on TrustPilot, eglobal tend to postpone any claim in time. Slowly respond to messages, send back the same faulty devices to customer and it takes weeks like not months, very often they offer a credit (fraction of the initial value) as a reimbursement that you can use in their shop for next purchase ( yeah good luck, devilish deal ). So as a matter of fact they offer settlement, lousy but still is. S75 works perfectly fine in 0-1 situation, one side of the sale agreement goes bankrupt for instance etc.
Joe_90
20 Jul 17#60
Thanks, I wasn't aware of that! The dual sim option seems limited to the S8+, nice phone but a bit pricey at full RRP compared with this deal.
soldierboy001
20 Jul 17#59
S75 is for if the seller does not fulfil his obligation to give you a product or service that is fit for purpose and you have to take this up with the card provider and prove your case to him and if he finds in your favour will make the seller put things right or give you a refund which the card provider will claw back from the seller.

isn't sec 75 for if the product arrives with a fault, rather than if the product arrives fine but develops a fault after a period of time (which manufacturer warranties are meant to cover).
have been trying to find clarification for this online, but can't find any resources that specify if the sec75 protection covers faults that develop after a while. Don't use this site. They sent me a faulty iPad. Royal mail does not allow you to send anything with a battery in it to Hong Kong where they are based so you have to use DPD. ( After some hunting they are the cheapest) at £30 I would recommend using a UK company. It was DOA and the cost was down to me. Never going to use them again.

This is the exact reason trustpilot ratings are not a 100% guide. People go online and moan but not so quick too when all is fine. You will get issues anywhere with any product. All products have a small % failure rate. This is a Chinese company. Not unreasonable to have to send it back to China. Key is knowing what you are signing up for.

So you need to post a deal to vote cold. Get real. LG are shocking build quality, Eglobal are grey market imports hence the price. You pays your money you take your chance. My experience's of both aren't great. I wonder if the people who post these deals ever buy them.

Which is what iZettle said too, but it's not up to them, it's up to the credit card companies, and that guy had his claim denied by Amex. The protection with third party processors needs clarifying by the ombudsman but it's not been done yet. It's likely you should be able to make a claim but it certainly isn't cut and dried.
MoDo613
20 Jul 17#40
But there are exactly no phones which will match specs like IP68 rating, quadHD screen and what some consider to be the best camera(s) available anywhere near this price- though Honor 8 is not too bad spec wise but does that count as a UK phone!?

Seems like there's a lot of great handsets you can buy at this price point that aren't LG, won't bootloop, won't have screen issues, will have UK warranty etc. Not sure why you'd risk it. I bought 2 x Xiaomi phones, 1 x Ulefone and 1 x LETV Le 1 Pro. All were decent specs, all arrived promptly from Gearbest. Ulefone developed a fault and to be fair I got a full refund after some haggling. LETV was a brilliant piece of kit but had malware / PUP and needed a fresh ROM flashing. One Xiaomi still good, one had the digitiser die.
For me, UK sourced phones from now on. My blood pressure can't take the China experience anymore.

I received a black one yesterday. Everything as expected, and interestingly enough during setup the language was set by default to English (UK). It had neither a SIM nor a wifi connection at that point, so not sure how it figured that? Anyway, only issue is the charger is a US one (not a problem, useful when visiting daughter and family in Texas). I have phone protection for both breakage and breakdown on my current account, so not too worried should anything go wrong.
