Strange, mine still says We've received your order details, and we're expecting your parcel shortly
edit: seems like you ordered on 7th, so a good couple of days before me.

Think so mate, thought it had wireless charging maybe not, I think it's just been made for the Europe market to have the DAC etc

Double the memory (128gb), a pair of B&O earphones, updated software for face unlock (which g6 will get), and some models support wireless charging. Otherwise nothing else different.. don't see the point for the extra money tbh

Hey, thanks for that- I'll report back on my black models date of production when I get it.
Can I ask, was the parcel signed for? Also how much notice did DPD give you for delivery?

Hi, do all of you receive the LG G6s in an opened box? Also does Google play come installed on it or do you have to install it as it is a Chinese market phone? I have been talking to customer support at eglobal, they are efficient at answering questions, however I am still very cautious, don't want to get a phone that is not genuine Cheers

Black picked up today with a manufacture date of 06/17.

It's the real deal. No crappy foreign apps or anything. Play store comes installed default. It's all in English. The box is not sealed. By that I mean it never actually has a typical EU "void if removed" seal on the box. The seal sticker is just never applied, but it is brand new and fresh from LG. I'm pretty confident that's how the eastern markets work I remember seeing a lot of that in Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Roughly how long has it taken for people to start receiving their phones? I need to order 2 and one is for a birthday present in just over 2 weeks. Trying to hold out for the price to drop again as its just risen to £345

Ordered last Friday and received today. Delivered by DPD, no custom fees or taxes etc. Second time I've used eglobal and never had an issue. Their customer service said that there's 12 month warranty with them and the service centre is a UK address. Hopefully I won't have to use it though.

Thank you. Worried I leave it too long and I receive it too late for my sons birthday

Around a week on average... I have ordered mine V20 on thursday morning and received tuesday next week. G6 in white comes out at £309.99 after LGPP15 code if it helps

And that was with the free delivery option, not the paid for option with insurance.

Thank you. I may end up going for the white but I think I would prefer the black. I've read the black bars are less noticeable when watching videos and playing games on the all black version
momanium
14 Jul 17#14
Also ordered black here for same reason. It's said to be the best looking by a lot of people but I do like the blue also.
Worth noting that the black glossy back is an absolute fingerprint magnet, and shows much worse than the other colours. So I ordered a case (+ extra protection!)

14 Jul 17#15
Hope their being honest about the service centre, makes this an even better deal!
Ordered last Sunday and tracking code still doesn't work. Hopefully they deliver this weekend, did DPD give you much notice?

Scroll on down the page, they have it in black for £329.99 with a glass screen protector too

Yes, exactly one week here as well. In black.

14 Jul 17#18
DPD didn't give me any notice. No text or email like they usually do. Eglobal sent me an email on Wednesday (3am!) with the tracking number and I just kept checking it myself on the DPD website. It updated on Thursday night and this morning said out for delivery which was true.

Just checked and mine says its on its way to my local depot, so hopefully it'll be here tomorrow. Thanks!
EDIT: Noooooo, according to the tracking site- ETA is monday. Hope it's wrong.

Bizarre, how did you pay?

Credit card. I have used eglobal before with no problems but paid via PayPal. I did wonder if they're waiting for it to clear first but its on my online banking already

15 Jul 17#25
Any idea why the base price for the black one with screen protector is significantly cheaper than the one without (Okay, the 'discounted' price is similar but it's just weird)? Thanks in advance.

Upto £352.99 now, they worked that one out selling too cheap lol

When I search on LG G6 64GB I see nine results with some variation in price. Can I just double check that provided it says 64H870DS then it's the correct global version that will work in the UK? Hoping to order next month and just keeping an eye on prices. Thanks
mvnl2008
15 Jul 17#30
I'm sorry i didn't bite over a week ago as the black version keeps rising in price
momanium
15 Jul 17#31
Yeah they're all the same model (Korean model with Quad DAC and 64GB storage). This means they are fully compatible with UK bands for 4G etc. The different variations are colours and eGlobal adding a screen protector for an extra price.
momanium
15 Jul 17#32
I'm sure it'll fall again once people lost interest/ stop purchasing @ the new price. Kinda like a fox and rabbit populations graph over time, when one falls the other will follow after a while.

15 Jul 17#33
I know but I'm running out of time to order, i need to receive the phone before the 4th of August. I may need to just jump on the blue version now, that one looks like its black on the front
momanium
15 Jul 17#34
I would go for it, didn't realise blue had black front- I was thinking of platinum.
Tbh after the discount code, it only works out a tenner more than the deal price here.
Delivery should be a week but there's some that take longer or get held up like the user above, so the sooner the better I say.

15 Jul 17#36
They are, as long as people know what they're getting into- it's a really good deal. A lot of negative reviews on Youtube/Google are people who didn't bother questioning why it was so cheap and assumed it was a UK seller/product.
This price for a flagship is incredible so well worth the risk for some of us. Not sure I agree about the bootloop comment, LG have really upped their game and in fact it seems Google have commissioned them for the Pixel 2 XL which speaks volumes.
John.Mason
16 Jul 17#37
Not really, there is no VAT to pay (I know this from personal experience and the fact it was shipped to me from Manchester) and there have been no reports of boot loop issues with the G6.

16 Jul 17#38
Ordered this last Sunday, it arrived Friday. Phone 100% genuine, frequent email updates from the retailer on the status of the order and arrived via DPD. It even came with a euro to UK plug adapter for the charger. No customs charges as they ship from a UK location (Manchester for me).
It was a risk but I am glad I ordered this in the end! Stunning phone!

Just wanted to add to the many others confirming receipt (Ordered last Sunday, received 8 days later on Monday)
This phone has absolutely blown me out the water as someone who has used the G3 (current phone), G4 (brothers), S8 (in-store), Pixel (in-store).
LG has absolutely stepped its game up and shown its actually innovating (unlike another big manufacturer...), The most solid, fast and well-designed phone they've created in a while. I really do feel this is the best Android phone around now that I've used it, with the exception of Pixel (only for speed and camera at the cost of no SD and poor design) and S8 (only on camera at the cost of touchwiz and being really uncomfortable as its so thin). Beautifully designed, the screen fills the whole phone and the extra height does make a huge difference without making the phone too big to hold. Camera, Speed, LGUI, fingerprint sensor, speakers have all exceeded my expectations. At this price it's an absolute no -brainer.
Here's a picture I took earlier.

is the white one the same specs, they all say h870ds but theres 9 differnt ones
mvnl2008

The white one is the same spec as the rest. I imagine it's cheaper as the other colours are more popular
momanium

Yep white one is exactly the same.
Not a big fan of the white so might be worth checking YouTube for what it looks or like. Unless colour isn't important due to a case etc.

Ordered in black last Tuesday at the price in this post (£311.99). Arrived today via DHL. Couldn't be happier. Lovely phone, and a step up from my Moto G4 with cracked screen. NB - purchased a Canon G9x ii camera from eGlobal on Thursday of last week (£284.99 - more than £100 less than any UK source) and that arrived today too, via DPD.

Looking into buying one of these (and taking the risk with EGC). I went to CPW & PC world to have a look in the flesh, I found that the back of the screen has a Matt/sandy look to any whites. It's noticeable when scrolling down on Google now or white backgrounds on forum's ! This was also apparent on the LG G5. Anyone else found this or is it just me being too close to the phone ?

19 Jul 17#47
They also have these listed on ebay from £335. I'm going to get it from there as at least there'll be some sort of protection from eBay/PayPal in case there's any issue with them.
Andi-C
19 Jul 17#48
I looked at the eBay listing, it states they give a pixel policy of up to 3 dead ? On their main site there isn't any policy at all (unless I've missed it but I've read through). Also, they offer 14 days return on eBay (thats probably due to eBay own policy) & EGC offer 30 days.
Surely PayPal would assist you within the year if bought direct ?

I bought via Ebay and brought via PayPal credit hoping it would give me more protection.
Phone came and is great. Massive improvement over my Redmi Note 3 Pro...

On Ebay this phone is listed bit more pricey, but it comes with an option to subscribe for 2-years SquareTrade (warranty) insurance, extra 69GBP though. Anyone considered this option ? I am not sure if SquareTrade covers 'grey import' products. In their terms and conditions I found : • For new items your period of cover is contingent on having a valid manufacturer’s warranty. If the insured item is not covered by a manufacturer’s warranty but has been declared as “new” we reserve the right to cancel your policy and issue a full refund.

Eventually went a head and ordered this phone. Whole process went flawlessly, took around five and a half days in total between ordering and the phone being delivered.
I'm a little worried that the adapter plug which was also included may be a little iffy though. Can anyone vouch for the adapter itself who has also got one?
I'm also looking for a third party plug for the phone so would appreciate any recommendations
Cheers
momanium
29 Jul 17#55
Yeah definitely don't use the included travel adapter (presuming you mean the one to convert to UK plug), it's unfused and looks like an absolute hazard. I went out to Poundland and bought a fused one that did the job perfectly.
Worth getting a travel adapter as the included charger is Quick Charge 3. If you're looking for (presumably a second one?) any "quick charge 3.0" one on Amazon will suffice. Realistically any old usb plug will suffice but Quick Charge is definitely worth spending a little more.
