For the price, this is the best tablet I've owned (and I was an early adopter with tablets from iPad 1 onwards).
While the projector (obviously) can't compete with standalone, being built in its more than handy, especially on holidays, room does need to be dark though, but easily projects a clear picture up to 70 inches so is very watchable.
Recently the firmware was upgraded and it has made a huge difference with the speed, could be quite sluggish before.
In all, highly recommended. It has been cheaper before, appreciate current cheapest, but if not in need of it immediately may be worth waiting until the next gen of Lenovo tablets come out just in case the price drops again, as it has been this price at Argos for a while (I've been checking weekly as a friend wants to get one after seeing mine).

It's a shame they don't update the software in a more timely manner on these, they only updated to Android 6 last month! support.lenovo.com/gb/…098
It is nice hardware though.

I'd vote hot but for the crap that comes with it. I hate that when you swipe a Lenovo tablet to the side it goes right to the camera. So bloody frustrating

I'm in the market for a new tablet, can't decide if I should go for this, or the lenovo miix running windows. Both have same CPU/mem but the miix has 802.11ac wifi where as this is b/g/n which seems a bit odd for a new tablet...

Can you run Sky Q and BT sport with this. I'm guessing with older apk's it may be possible if anyone has one and can recommend how they project the display with the app running.
robertr
16 Jul 17#6
I have this and Sky still block their apps from any type of casting, including this projector, BTSport app can be casted fine, so works with the projector.
sbellseb to robertr
16 Jul 17#7
It's a shame its not dual boot with Windows as I believe Sky Q still works on the windows platform and perhaps the projector wouldn't be blocked.

Just tried it again as last tried a year ago, but still get the 'external display output is blocked' message on SkyQ app.
Charlas
16 Jul 17#9
SkyQ doesn't have a windows app, and their terrible sky go malarkey is a joke to get working, and will only work in IE, and MS have depreciated that anyhow! Still uses Silverlite! And that's been dead 2 years

After a bit of googling it would appear someone has found an old apk and installed it and got sky Q working. I typed in "sky q apk lenovo yoga projector" and it was one of the first discussions.
I may buy one after all.

Anybody got any real world comments? Liking for something to run readly, marvel unlimited, video apps, browsing possibly some light productivity. Coming from a surface 3 atom (which I like but battery life is becoming s real pain and windows readly app is gone and marvel unlimited is not great)

Could be a kodi plug in for sky go as well by the way some talk of it but haven't tried to confirm it.

What's the return policy for tablets at Argos? Couldn't really see a definitive answer on their website. It looks a good tablet but if performance is as sluggish as some reviews on the net suggest, I'd want to return it.

Not good if you buy instore & it's not faulty. Best pay online & have delivered (or use fast track) - then you're covered by distance selling regulations.

I had purchased another Lenovo Tab (The A10-30) for my son in store, but as was eluded to earlier in this post, had issues with sd card support for playback of media on the device (kingston and samsung sd cards, not cheap tat). I returned the item in store and was given a refund immediately. I was honest about it all, and was able to demonstrate the issue and various threads on the lenovo forums, which provided work arounds I might add, so if it was a fault or not would certainly be debatable to Argos, just not to me. Had no issues with the same cards in a HUDL 2 and Samsung Tab 3 so there should be no issues or workarounds needed for the lenovo. The Argos staff member agreed and refunded. Long story short, never had a bad experience with Argos returns.

Real world info.
I had one pretty much since they were released.
The projector is decent but only in a darkened room The speakers are awesome, loud, clear and atmos works well The battery life is usually brilliant, ive had almost 6 hours with the projector on but, sometimes it runs flat overnight Build quality is brilliant and the hinge/stand/hanger is genius

Sorry that was at Currys\PC World. I got mine before that deal from Very for around £250.

Agree with the stand\hanger, superb sound and build quality, also since the update to 6 it also runs a lot faster. Still my favourite tablet.

I had one of these when they first came out but my charger port broke (I think it was possibly a cable that I was using, not original). I absolutely loved it! I rarely use my TV and watch most things on YouTube etc. Having this tablet to watch videos on the projector was great and even though I had an old version of android it was fine. The only reason I didn’t get another was because it was a John Lewis clearance model so they gave me my money back.

Sorry to go slightly off topic but can anyone please recommend a decent pocketable projector of a similar or better quality to this projector? Most of the ones on Amazon appear to have the paid for reviews and reading in between the lines, most of them appear to be of poor quality.

I have one of these and it is fun to use. The software support is not great, they just upgraded this two month ago. Battery life is really good and the projector works well in a darkened room. at only 50 lumens it is not going to work in a bright room. The dolby sound is great when watching a film or tv. If it was for work I would not consider this as Levono are not great with keeping things uptodate. I would look at the their website for some really user feedback re this tablet. Fun for every day use games etc. Gra

Can you turn the screen off if you use the projector because my problem with MHL is that the screen stays on
wolvesinwales to Mandroid578

Yes the screen turns off.
I've had one for a while I do find it to be a bit laggy sometimes compared to other tablets I've had. Very fussy about chargers if you use a different charger it can turn off and goes into a mood! This is solved by holding a couple of buttons in for 30 seconds, easy enough fix but never known any other device to be so fussy about a charger.

I have got one, took quite a while to update, several reboots required. Involved a 1.5gb download, followed by a few smaller updates. So far so good, really impressed with the projector. It is a bit on the heavy side, however I guess that's one of the functions of the stand.
Although, if that's its only use, you'd be able to buy a much better dedicated projector for the money.

The selling point of this tablet is the projector which is fine (I've owned this tablet for over a year) and projects up to 70". I'm not using it to replace a TV but I can't take a large TV on holiday with me!
