Not a bad price at all, if this is the A10-70 model, it can be updated with a bit of jiggery-pokery to Android 6.0 which works well, otherwise it's stuck on Lollipop which isn't a problem but might be a sticking point for some.
Mine works brilliantly.

If I may ask, what sort of jiggery pokery?

It's been this price for a while as I've been checking it daily to see if it will drop any further, but worthy of a re-post of your deal from a month ago.

robertr, I was also checking daily until last week and price was stuck at £199.99 so it must have only recently dropped back down to £139.99.

I must have missed that, so I think they've probably done their increase it back to RRP for a day then reduce it again so they can confidently say they are saving £60.00!
I wish they would drop it to £119.99 again though :-( m going to wait to see if there is any offer on Amazon Prime day, if not then I'll probably bite at this price.

Got one. Is good if it's the Tab2 A10-70 as previously mentioned. Not good for gaming I'm told. I don't. Great res at 1920x1200. Sound suffers if you upgrade firmware. If the battery gets too low it gets stuck in a boot loop...you have to wait for it to completely drain before you can recharge and get going again.

It requires rooting the tablet, installing a custom recovery, and then flashing the tablet with the firmware for the A10-70L (one with the 3g SIM) which was updated to 6.0 then you can customize the tablet with custom framework and remove all notifications regarding 3g and such. If you fancy it, I can find you all the links and forum posts I had and can advise if you need help.
It is pretty foolproof, as upon flashing once or twice it failed (which wiped the drive partitions) but just restarting the flashing process sorted it.
Mine works alright with games, obviously I don't expect loads out of it. I've never had a problem with the sound either apart from on 6.0 mine seems to require a restart if you plug in a pair of headphones and then remove them as the sound stops coming out of the speaker. I've not had the low battery bootloop issue though?

Wow, that a lots of hoops to jump through. Thanks for the heads up.

Honestly it sounds like a lot of work, but it's mostly just waiting time for the flashing and install process. I think it's worthwhile, especially as my A10-70F kept messing up on Lollipop and I'd lose the haptic (home, tasks and back) buttons after every reset of the tablet, so I had nothing to lose. I'd say probably about an hour max of actual work, the rest is waiting time.
Like I said, if you're interested I can source you the info!

Argos states rear camera is 5mp and front camera is 2mp whereas Lenovo say its 8mp rear and 5mp front, anyone know which one this specific deal is (assuming Argos may have it wrong off course) ?

Would appear that the 8mp and 5mp cameras are on the 1.5ghz version, i.e. not this one which is 1.7ghz.

Just noticed, in the questions and answers section on the Argos link one answer states that this is this 1.5ghz model - Confusing ?.

Paid the same for this just over a year ago from Argos, great tablet. I don't play anything more taxing than Hearthstone and that runs great. Use it 90% for watching films whilst travelling which is why I got the 1920x1200 one. Can't go wrong for the price. Pretty sure mine is 5MP on the rear, it's not great.

The lenovo tab 3 10 inch tablet is already on Android 6 and is £99 in argos. Sounds like T3 is the better buy to me. Slightly slower but newer CPU and its a snapdragon so will be easier to update too otherwise pretty much the same as this.

Unfortunately it doesn't have a full HD screen like this one does.

No need to jump through hoops - install SP Flash Tool on your pc, plug tablet in, flash, boot, done.
Follow step 4 of this, but use the android 6 rom rather than the one linked to in that post. 10mins and you are done.

For what it's worth I meant. I've had the boot loop issue a couple of times now....I try to keep it topped up to avoid it

If you plan on doing any gaming, I really recommend a minimum of 32Gb. I have a Samsung Note 10.1 2014 which I absolutely love and the specs are years ahead of its time but it's only 16Gb unfortunately and the 10 or 12Gb that you're left with when you open the box isn't enough.

It's not a bad tablet. Bought mine 18 months at £20 less than the asking price today. No doubt higher price today due to the weak pound caused by our decision to leave the exclusive club. Screen resolution on this tablet not very good in my opinion. Lower resolution screen on Samsung tablet is much better. Sometimes rear camera app is missing. Restart brings it back. If you have problem with low sound after update you have to mess bout with the Dolby settings. Not a bad tablet for the price but could be better.

You can get a manufacturer refurbished one in blue from the Argos Ebay shop for £99....
So much for inflation, got this over a year ago now for £109

I do not see this as a deal - I got a used one for 80 pounds last year. It is a reasonable budget tablet, but the software is now 3 versions out of date, and that will soon increase to 4. It has not seen any security updates for years, and from a software perspective it is clearly obsolete. The hardware is decent, but not amazing (it is just no match to a Kindle HDX, for example), but how you can sell something like this as "new" is beyond me.

Yeah true, but 1920x1200 isn't HD either..... it's close but it's not.

Full HD is classed as 1920x1080. So as this is above that spec it is full HD.
