I have no idea if this is a good deal or not, but going off similar games for the PS4 it seems good value for money, and looks like a fantastic game, just picked it up from Amazon now. Thanks OP, Heat!

I was watching it on prime day but it ran out of stock in minutes. Your friend might have had 6p credit in their account.

Can you play this game and enjoy if you haven't played any previous ones. Im a massive final fantasy fan does this have similarities to FF. Really considering buying.

This contains four full games and two cinematic of games. It does not matter if you haven't played them, as this will give you all the games (apart from 2.8 which contains Dream Drop Distance).
I am personally just playing through KH1 at the moment. For your records the disk contains the following games:
- Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (cutscenes only)
- Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep: Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts: Re:Coded (cutscenes only)

This is essentially a collection of the first two games (from the PS2) plus the first four spin-off games, so there aren't really any 'previous' games - if you start with this you'll be starting from the beginning of the very first game in the series. Both Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II got 'Final Mix' versions in Japan - basically director's cuts with additional content - and it's those versions that got remastered in HD for the PS3 and now PS4 collections, making them available in the west for the first time.
So basically this collection is the best way to get started and will give you just about all the Kingdom Hearts you need. As for similarities to FF - it doesn't really play like most FF games, it's an action RPG with battles like FFXII, XV and Parasite Eve (if you've played that), but it is made by the same people and features a lot of Final Fantasy characters along with all the Disney characters. I'd say most FF fans would like it, but can't speak for everyone - I'm a huge fan of both myself.
I'm pretty sure there is no additional content compared to the PS3 versions (it's described as a 'single disc edition' of HD 1.5 and 2.5) if that's what you're asking. Otherwise it's a case of whether you like the games enough to play them again on your PS4 with extra pixels and a second round of trophies.

Yeah, full 6p saving...! >_<;
He chose no-rush delivery for the extra credit and got it next day. Go figure. It also came with a £3 Amazon Pantry credit, but meh.
This version contains all the first games (the rest can be bought via KH2.8 ), so you're starting from scratch. If you know FF games, you'll enjoy the cameos.

If ive never played kingdom hearts before is 1.5 HD remake the best one to start with?

There are a number of different ways people play the series. The suggested order is the order of release:
- Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix (Kingdom Hearts 1.5)
- Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (cutscenes only)
- Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep: Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts: Re:Coded (cutscenes only)
Final mix refers to the idea that the game was changed to included added extras. In the first for example, it adds new modes and the ability to fight some additional super bosses.

What's the combat like in these? Is it turn based?

CNo it is an action RPG.. all in real time and an absolute delight to play.

If you've played FF XV or XII, it has a very similar battle style. You have your usual "Attack", "Magic", "Item", etc. menus, but the battles play out in real time. It can get a little hectic, especially when you're trying to use a certain command and you keep getting hit, but it's pretty simple to learn.

In case that's any use to anyone: the difficulty trophies DO stack on the PS4, but not on the PS3. After getting the platinum on KH1.5 on the PS3, I vowed to never touch KH:ReCOM again.

HLTB has the estimated completion time at 150-300 hours. That seems like a lot of value for money. Currently stuck between getting this for £23 in store at Game or Persona 5 PS4 for £35 at Amazon (£10 student discount applied). May get both :man: Edit: Just remembered I had a duplicate copy of Pikmin 3 which I got for 99p from Game before, trading that in for £9 which will put me to £10 on my reward card. Can't go wrong at £13/14 total spend :sunglasses:

Not to let any of this bother you too much. But I have found the combat in kh1 painful. It is quite tedious, and does require a little grind. The combat, certainly hasn't aged well and feels quite clunky. Something I am sure the next one will change.
