We ordered one of these sets a few weeks ago from amazon it has been a total nightmare. The first set which was sent was broken, amazon sent us another set which was great however the problem we had was that we were told by amazon that we had to arrange and send the other set back ourselves. I wouldnt of minded but this set weighs a huge 36kg and is over 1.2m long so most parcel companies wouldnt touch it and cost £77 to send back. Finally we got a company who amazon recommended but this was a load of hassle too because every time the courier wanted to deliver it back to amazon in dunfermline they werent there to receive it at that time so it sat in a depot for ages, which is not good because you only have a specified time to return it or amazon charge u again for the replacement set. All in all it wasnt worth all the hassle for what seemed like a bargain, and the negative feedback i tried to leave on the amazon website was very heavily edited and didnt reflect my experience with them so i deleted it anyway,so be very wary if you buy this item!!!!!! Also tried to get in touch with Alibert company who made them about spare parts and the 3 year guarantee and we are still waiting to hear from them.

Great price. If you buy the cushions are shower proof not waterproof which means as they are cream they stain easy in a downpour.

Nonsense. We have the Corfu version, it's been out all Winter and looks like new. Keter make quality stuff, just that some people can't seem to get over the fact the stuff is made in Israel...

Yep, great sets. I've got a similar one that was mispriced and got it for around £55, there was a blanking plate missing so Amazon knocked another £22 off ( you can't see it either as it's on the back).
Mines been outside for a couple of years and still looks brand new .

i had the same issue with a set i bought from amazon, piece missing and piece broken. Got amazon to part refund for the affected parts and then i emailed alibert/keter to request replacement parts. They never replied but sent out the parts from Holland free of charge and no questions asked. Didnt even need proof of purchase. So anybody in need of parts, send them an email and see what happens.

i think this is a good price when looking around. Can't help but feel that Keter stuff is massively overpriced for what it is though. Not as if a lot of skill goes into plastic moulding....
Market dictates though and they seem to have it sewn up!

Is the quality of the eBay items the same though? Mums been asking me to look out one of those for ages..though she'd prefer a corner unit.
Saw someone say that they reckoned the set they got from B&M was as good as more expensive versions?
I need a new set as mines damaged and faded,it is years old mind you.
My garden at times is like a wind tunnel, one day a gust of wind blew the table up in the air and it landed on the sofa putting a hole in the arm,Keter did send spare parts for free though.

A lady from Keter emailed me this link as Allibert is manufactured by their sister company apparently, not sure if this is how you contacted them already .
This it total nonesense that Amazon made you send it back at your own expense and time. With it being damaged and unuseable on delivery , Amazon should and would (in my experience) arrange for it to be collected at their expense and either replace or fully refund.

It is a really good set for the price, but i just wanted to show the hassle you get to return the faulty set to amazon if you are unlucky to get a set which is damaged. I think it is disgusting that amazon expects people to have to arrange their own return on such a large item when there are limited ways how to send this back and have to have a spare £77 available to return it,i never in a million years expected all the hassle and it has put me off buying really large items from amazon again.

It is the retailer's responsibility to get items to you undamaged and therefore they are legally obliged to arrange for their return if they want them back again. Is there more to this than meets the eye?

I picked a set up with the grey cushions for the same price a couple of weeks ago. My 18yr old lad put it together while I was at work and I've got to say the quality is surprising for a set so reasonably priced.
I'm a fat knacker and the seats hold my weight without a bother.

Quality stuff, I have the Allibert Chicago set which has nice flat, wood looking arm rests (never understood why you'd want to rest your arms on a rough edge) looks far better than low end cheap rattan furniture. Can be left out in all weather, won't fade in the sun etc. The cushions we just bring in although they do another item in the range that is waterproof and allows you to put the cushions inside it. It's pretty tough too as long as you don't let the kids jump all over it. Would recommend anyone getting it, great value for money.

24 Jul 17#28
And what exactly do u mean by this comment ? It is quite simple it was damaged on receipt and we had loads of trouble having to return it ourself ,they refunded our postage eventually £77 . I posted to warn others of potential problems if received damaged. And no there wasnt more to this than meets the eye
rammy007
24 Jul 171#29
We did this and they never got back to us,but in the end amazon got us another set but it was all the trouble sending it back arranging it ourself which is why i posted on here to warn others, and to "Bazr" no its not nonsense that they would have arranged the collection of it,they didnt end of,it cost £77.84 which was arranged through parcel monkey using the carrier DX freight, they did refund the postage but my point was we shouldnt have had to and not everyone has got a spare £77 .You try and warn people of problems when purchasing this item and then more or less made out to be a liar, its 100% true.
rammy007
24 Jul 17#30
As you can see we DID have to arrange to send it back ourself, this was sent after we rang them to say we couldnt get any couriers to take it,they recommended parcel monkey
rammy007
24 Jul 17#31
Like i said £77.84,i wasnt lying

24 Jul 171#32
I never suggested that you were a liar and have no doubt what you say is true. I was trying to say that there is no way Amazon should have made you go it alone with that return. Upon reporting the damaged item they should have sent you a link with a postage label for you to attach to the return and then ask you to arrange collection. This has always been the case in my experience. Sorry for any offence.

I simply mean that what you recount seems so bizarre I wonder if you've missed out a crucial detail.

24 Jul 17#34
Yes, but why did you have to return it at your own expense and need to claim it back?
rammy007
24 Jul 17#35
We were really shocked that we had to go it alone to arrange for it to go back and wemade numerous phone calls believe me we were so cross especially as it was huge and very heavy,i wouldnt have minded if it had been a small item but it wasnt it had to go by a freight carrier(DX freight) it has certainly put me off buying anything huge from amazon i just wanted to make people aware especially as a few reviews received them damaged.
rammy007
24 Jul 17#36
I really dont know why we had to return it ourself and claim it back, we asked if they could arrange a pick up and they said we had to do it,even the original delivery company who delivered it said they were surprised we had to do it ourself,i didnt go to all that trouble for the hell of it it was what we had been told to do by amazon customer service.
rammy007
24 Jul 17#37
Even the email after the phone call said self despatch,we couldnt stick a postage label on it and drop it off at a post office it was too big a huge 36kg took 2 people to carry it

24 Jul 17#38
The big yellow box in that screen shot is the one you should have clicked to get your return label and instructions on how to send back.

True, but they could still arrange a pre-paid collection. I think you got a bad customer agent. :disappointed:

Pibbop like what exactly? No that is what happened havent missed out anything! Wtf are u getting at
rammy007
24 Jul 17#41
No they didnt arrange a prepaid collection and numerous calls made it wasnt just one customer agent ,we even asked someone to ring us about it ,and someone called tom from ireland did. Dont know why u keep on this is what happened and am not exactly please about it because it took loads of phone calls and time
rammy007
24 Jul 17#42
Er we couldnt click on it cos it was too big!!!!, Ffs thats if it went to a post office it was too bloody big, we did print the label and was put on the box to send back when DX FREIGHT picked it up

If it breaks during assembly then it isn't fit for purpose.
pibpob
26 Jul 17#46
Not necessarily - some people are completely ham-fisted and may, for instance, try to assemble things in the wrong order and force them when they don't fit. Doesn't help if the instructions are indecypherable pictograms though. (Here's looking at you, Ikea...)
