I have been looking for a good deal on the new iPad Pros but unfortunately due to the recent price increase due to Brexit it has been extremely difficult; however if you create a new account at Very the code LGAQP reduces the price by 20%. I ordered the iPad Pro 12.9 inch 2017 model for £619.19. This includes the postage cost of £3.99. Should work on all other models too.

price increase due to Brexit
you mean price increase due to apple taking advantage of the situation.....
it's 1.31 USD to 1GBP. It was 1.4. Many companies used the excuse about weak pound.
did they drop the price again when the pound went back up? Nope.

For the last time. Apple price increases were due to greed not Brexit. They put the prices up in Europe too and pretty much everywhere except the USA so stop saying it's Brexit related! They also did the same when launched MacBooks. I bought iPad and MacBook on event day because I got them at the old prices.

It is Brexit that has caused pound devaluation and resulting in the price increase. Actually not that bothered about an iPad, but I do worry about my monthly spend on groceries. I cannot say price increase is due to TESCO/SAINSBURIES etc.
Anyways, 20% is a good discount.

You think all these massive multi national companies should adjust prices day by day?
And also forget to mention that 1.31 us *very* close to the highest point the UK£ has been against the $ since the referendum?
And forget the DAY before it was at 1.49?
Currencies fluctuate, but in general, the major ones do so slowly. Fact is, the UK£ plummeted after the referendum, and a pretty much every importer faced higher prices. To pretend otherwise is deliberate ignorance.
Whichever side of the debate you are on, whether you see it as good or bad, these are facts. The UK£ is now one of those currencies that is in fluctuation. Because of brexit.
Once it eventually steadies itself (eventually..) I don't doubt these companies will once again re-evaluate their pricing.

Right, cause big devaluation of currency has no affect on Apple's decision of setting price, its not like Apple or Microsoft etc had announce price increase following Brexit...oh wait they did. The fact is the price increase is both due to adding the name "pro" and know people will pay for it but also Brexit

Remember US prices are before tax. If you take VAT off you can compare prices. iPad Pro (10.5) $649 = £495 at $1.31 to £1. Cost of iPad Pro (10.5) minus VAT is £515. Not a massive markup by Apple I don’t think?

When the oil price drops, the government puts pressure on the refineries and fuel stations to drop their price. You are aware the fuel price rises and lowers right? When the price of wholesale energy drops, the cost to the consumer is reduced as well. I'm not denying that brexit had an impact on the currency everyone knows this.... but Apple said it was due to brexit when in reality it was due to greed and opportunism. Yeah it might have made <1% difference to Apple but the price increase in no way reflected the actual losses incurred by the weaker pound.
Lets not pretend they are not being greedy. Even apple fanboys can see that. And yes, big companies do drop their prices... it happens all the time... you would think being on HUKD that you would have noticed that....

You are comparing the cost of fuel to the standard costs of everything else? Do you really believe that everything should be spot priced like petrol? It can literally change multiple times a day, and you think that's how ALL prices should operate? Do you know how much this would cost companies that sell these things? How that would affect their advertising, their planning, their costings...??
It's not a realistic comparison I'm afraid.
And I did even said that multinationals change prices, not sure what argument you are trying to make there... They just wait until they can make it a price change that lasts more than a day at a time.

Brexit has nothing to do with Apple ripping off UK customers, Apple were ripping off their UK sheep (sorry customers) 5 years ago and they will be still ripping them off in 5 years time. If you want to pay 2-3 times the value for a style over substance Apple product is worth that is your choice, but it does make you a sheep/cretin.

This iPad Pro became cheaper taking the currency devaluation into account.
This is a fact.
Let me show you.
It was announced 9th September 2015. It cost £679 in the UK and $799 in the US.
On 7th September 2016 they raised the price to £729.
On 9th September 2015, removing VAT the cost of the iPad yielded $868.35. By release date this was down to $855.13.
On 7th September 2016, again taking VAT out of the equation it yielded only $755.80.
A full $100 less when it launched, and $50 less than the base dollar price.
The post-price rise price equated to $811.46. So less than the $ equivalent both when it was announced and released. At today's rate it is $796.13. So it has fallen since the price rise, and is less than the US price, but you're calling for a price drop?
daskapital
16 Jul 171#47
Didn't call for a price drop. Where in my comments did I say that ? I don't want one, or any apple product.
I disputed that any price increase was due to brexit. Look at what they did with the app store... apple cites a 19% devaluation in the pound so they raise the price 25% does it seem fair / related ?
You said they didn't drop the price when the pound went up. That's as good as calling for a drop in my book.
You have to allow for future fluctuations otherwise you will be constantly changing pricing. This is why you very rarely get 1:1 price conversions. In addition people just look at the exchange rate as if that is the only thing affecting pricing.
It isn't. Currency is only one factor in a whole host of factors when it comes to the cost of sales.
I mean all that being said, have they ever taken the piss? Sure. But in fairness this isn't one of those occasions.

I named oil and spot pricing as that was the comparison *you* began. What others do you mention? You mentioned by name 'Oil' and Apple, no others. So why call me cherry picking? I used the comparison YOU made!
And well done on deciding not to engage in debating the actual points I made based on, and I quote "obvious apple fanboy/antibrexiteer junk"... again, well debated!
If you knew your facts, you'd know full well that I am anything but an Apple apologist, but the fact is that vast majority of large multinationals raised their prices, in direct response to Brexit currency changes. Argue if you like, but please back it up with examples, don't simply try to make your point by dismissing it as "obvious apple fanboy/antibrexiteer junk"... that's not making an argument, that's losing it.
And one final thing. Apple DID raise the prices of the range all over the world. They didn't blame brexit for doing so in America did it? No, it was just a price rise. But over here, ours *were* bigger. And *that* is the brexit/currency driven part. If a currency falls 20% overnight, then it costs companies that *import* money. If they keep prices the same, then they are essentially selling to us at a far lower price than any where else...They then take that profit, return it to their own currency (probably USD) which is then much less that it would have been prior to the currency devaluation... Why *shouldn't* they raise prices to compensate??
daskapital

This deal really should have got hotter, but I suspect it’s the fact that you have to apply for a credit account for the discount code to work that stopped it. I did that and then paid by Paypal using the proceeds from the sale of my old iPad.

I disputed that any price increase was due to brexit. Look at what they did with the app store... apple cites a 19% devaluation in the pound so they raise the price 25% does it seem fair / related ?
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/jan/17/apple-ios-mac-app-store-prices-rise-25-per-cent-following-brexit
Now my question is, how do I delete my account with them?

I state fuel and energy companies, he can't seem to see anything other than fuel... Apple cites 19% currency drop... puts price up 25% totally fair...
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/jan/17/apple-ios-mac-app-store-prices-rise-25-per-cent-following-brexit
and apple DROPPED the US price , not raised it.
Trolllin trollin trollin.... troll on.....

Obviously 12.9" is massive and doesn't suit everyone.

1. The code will only work after you apply for a credit account.
2. After applying for credit, add the model of your choice to the basket
3. Then apply the code, it should work
3. Switch to "pay in full with credit/debit card" (The website does not accept AMEX as payment option, you can pay with paypal using an amex credit card instead)
I bought 64gb non-cellular version for £499.19, order being processed now will update when dispatched
*just got called by the fraud team for some quick verification checks, dispatched.
This deal really should have got hotter, but I suspect it’s the fact that you have to apply for a credit account for the discount code to work that stopped it. I did that and then paid by Paypal using the proceeds from the sale of my old iPad.
I ordered the iPad Pro 10.5 inch 256GB Wi-Fi version. It worked out at £571.19 delivered against an rrp of £709. Topcashback has tracked at £33.42, or 7.07% of the net amount, but I’ll regard that as a bonus if I get anything.
I’ve just received confirmation that my order has been dispatched.
Deal seems too good to be true! Thanks for posting that screenshot.
Edit - it's tracked now so just took a few hours for mine for some reason. If it pays out i'll have got the ipad for £466.31 plus the £3.99 postage which is a big saving.
It looks like they have been slow processing my order so not getting it next day and having to wait until tomorrow.
The packaging is not very impressive. It was just in one of those grey plastic bags, no outer cardboard box, but the iPad box itself wasn't damaged.
There's no information from Very other than a returns note and postage stickers to send it back to the Shop Direct Returns Department.
Hope you're liking the 12.9!
It never gave me the option to pay now though and went through as their 3 month 3 payments option. Can I go into my account and just pay it off in full?
I received mine today from Royal Mail 24 service. Like many others mentioned above, the packing is probably the thinnest plastic cover for a package I've ever seen. The box edges was quite damaged but everything else was fine. Given the price im not gonna complain lol
