Samsung Gears are usually best for those that have Samsung galaxy phones, but Android Wear is basically good for any phone.

Can anyone with one of these, comment on the battery life?

These have sapphire glass like many normal watches so don't really need protection.
The only problem that I have with mine is it loses bluetooth pairing when you go out of range of your phone and it asks you to pair again when they come back into range of each other. I had hoped wear 2 would fix this or that a different phone might help but no such luck. Oh, and it also sometimes sends calls to my watch when I answer on my phone or vice versa.
Google just said to reset and start over but this didn't help. It is much less likely to have these problems when I switch the ability to take/make calls from the watch.

I've not had that issue with my w1?

Screen protector on this unlikely to be necessary. The face is made of Saphire, harder than the gorilla glass on competing devices.

I've found pebbles more reliable to use with the iPhone than the apple watch. Less features but far superior battery and reliability ime

I bought a circular screen protector for mine, and peeled the shipping label off it, and too late, realised I'd peeled the actual sticky layer off.. so now I have a plain glass disk that's no use to me :-D

Can get this in other finishes and watch straps available from Amazon .
The straps are designed to be easily removed with no tools so that you can match a strap to an outfit.

This runs android wear which is Google's watch OS. The others are proprietary however also have perfectly decent functionality.
But I would have this every time without hesitation, for the looks, features and OS.
Ahhh... Has anyone tried both this and the Samsung gear s2? Bought the s2 last week and waiting for delivery for £180.
Thanks...

Superb watch, still haven't seen a better watch. Updated to latest android wear.
However the charging thing is a pain in the @@#£.
Doesn't always sit. When connected doesnt always stay put.

I sit mine in a watch stand like this and then my phone sits next to it. Can be had quite cheap on ebay
I think it links to google maps on your phone, and then gives nav through that - but no, it doesn't have GPS (not that I'm aware of)
I bought this on the basis that I like watches and even when it wasn't compatible with my phone or software in 4 years, I'd still like it as a watch - compare this to the apple watch, which is ugly (for a watch), but would have maybe been better for me as I have an iPhone
Ultimately it comes down to the proverbial swings and roundabouts

The silly advertising video on Amazon shows the guy using what looks like a GPS app on the watch. The description on the page says one of the features is 'Navigation'. I couldn't find anything that actually said GPS though. I'm still no wiser.
