Best price I've ever seen for this watch. I missed the deal last year (Black Froday) when it was £179.99. Last week it was £199.99 now it's droppped to £159.99.
This could be even cheaper with the student discount with £10 off bringing it down to £149.99.
Excellent watch, very classy looking and far nicer than the new Huawei Watch that feels more plastic. This watch also gets Android Wear 2.0.
Android and IOS - One of the first watches powered by Android Wear™ to work with Android & iPhone. True Watch design - 42mm diameter, the most classic watch size. One watch, many looks, 40+ watch faces at your fingertips. World's first Android Wear smartwatch with Sapphire Crystal screen, stylish Cold-Forged 316L Stainless Steel and Fine Leather straps available. Always-On Screen & Voice Interaction - See important details at a glance, without touching your watch, such as social media notifications, all your messages, who's calling and turn by turn navigation instruction. Fitness Tracking and Heart Rate Monitor - A high-accuracy motion sensor keeps track of your activity and knows when you’re walking, running or climbing.
This purchase qualifies for a £2.99 amazon pantry credit. Also if you take the no rush options you get a £1 credit towards music or apps.

I have this watch and it was the dogs **** until i updated to android wear 2.
I used my watchmaker app to get loads of great Rolex, Omega etc. faces and it looked stunning. Also bought a steel strap from amazon and it looked even better.
Recently it updated to android wear 2 and initially worked perfectly.
I had to reset my phone (S7) after a firmware update and it now refuses to connect to google accounts which means the watch cannot get any apps from your phone, so stuck with the crappy on watch default faces. If you look at android wear reviews on play store you will see loads of reviews stating major bug with AW2.
I would still buy the watch as it is stunning, but do not update it to AW2 when offered the choice. Wait for the major bugs to be fixed.

Got it the other day...lovely looking watch with the black leather strap too. It did the AW2 update and not had problems with it. Google Now with voice activation works very well. Thanks OP, great watch at a great price.

Looks like they released the exact same one to the devs to OTA which is a shame. Half the watch faces I purchased don't work properly on it. Main annoyance is trying to use "Ok google" though. Not sure why it takes the watch so long to respond and I have to wait a few seconds before saying any more. I don't even use voice on it anymore and just pick up my phone.
Skymonkey
11 Jul 17#43
Android 2.0 is available for this watch now. Chances are you'll be asked to update to it. After mine broke I bought one but was full price, I decided to send back and wait for a cheaper deal. Before I sent back I was asked if I wanted to update when I played around with it. Definitely 2.0 it was released end of May.
liamwheldon
11 Jul 17#42
2 is official for it now as OTA update. I'd assume it comes with 1.x as standard though out of the box.
The_IMF
11 Jul 17#41
Pretty sure it's 1.0 out of the box. 2.0 was for people that converted theirs to dev preview, I don't think official 2.0 is out yet which is why it's buggy? May be wrong though.
Skymonkey
11 Jul 17#40
Yes - it should absolutely come with 1.0 or 1.X out of the box. The most recent one that I had to replace my broken W1 had 1.X and I was given the option to update, which I didn't do.
The_IMF
11 Jul 17#37
Purchased in November for £167.99. Watch is beautiful and I always get asked questions about it.
Android wear 2.0 is a bit buggy on it though. I forced it on and realised I had made a mistake. 1.0 works really smoothly but with 2.0 some of the watch faces don't work and it's started to lag and never responds to voice well anymore.
I'll say ok google about 4 times and it'll finally respond and lag for 5s before I can say more.
Maybe I have too many apps on it but 1.0 had no lag issues with same apps.

I disagree, it's got a sort of clean look that's been missing since the original moto 360 (except that had the flat tyre display). The most similar thing I can find is the LG G Watch R but that has numbers on the bezel making it a bit cluttered and it's a bit too big.
*edit* also, ignored. You don't seem to be a troll normally but here you're definitely fitting the description.

Well depends - the S3 offers GPS and AndroidPay - so if you want those then go for it. Do keep in mind the S3 runs Tizen, not Android and has less apps available for it as I understand. For some you do need to have a samsung phone I believe, for say, Uber.

I've got one of these, had it for about 2-3 months and love it. I bought a new metal strap for it for about £12 and it looks like a nice day to day normal watch but with smart functions and display. The intl down sides are not waterproof and heart rate not a continuous monitor.. other than that I love it!
The packaging this watch comes in in premium rate! I was very very impressed!! For £160 (£40 less than I got one) this is a steal!)

Skymonkey to gungesh
11 Jul 17#24
The second generation has GPS and AndridPay as I understand, however the screen is smaller. The battery life I believe is around the same. If the Watch 2 looked like the watch 1, I would be interested. Reviews for the W2 seem good, many saying though it hasn't made as big a hit as the original W1. I would wait for the W2 to come down further as I am sure it is inevitable (black Friday).

I've had the Moto 360 1st & 2nd Gen & now the W1, & I much prefer the W1 - looks classy & works great with AW2 for me (I actually like the stock faces). It certainly doesn't feel like 2 year old tech to me

Totally take on board comments about it being cheap looking. I will add that this will be the second W1 watch I will have purchased in the past 8 months. I broke the first :-( And loved it so much I paid the full price from Currys, it came with the silver strap also for £239. Decided to wait for the price to drop and it has.
This is an outstanding smart watch for the money. I got two days operation with mine, Step counting, heart rate, sleep monitoring etc etc. It does not have GPS as some of the more expensive watches or AndroidPay but I generally use my phone for that. As for GPS, if connected via Bluetooth it will track your route using your phone.
You can make and take calls, use google voice to reply to messages. See new alert pop-ups etc.
Personally I think this watch looks very classy, having owned it. It can be won on the wrist on an evening out, at work or in the gym. The newer models all seem more sporty which is fine but I like the chrome/premium look of it.
