This one is definitely more convenient as it has automatic double sided printing and 100 sheet input tray. The argos one requires you to input paper from the top rather than a tray at the bottom.
I've just bought the HP 4527 for £45 on Argos, with 4 months Instant Ink (+2) http://www.argos.co.uk/product/6558769
Is it worth the hassle of returning and then getting this one? They seem pretty much the same specs, can't find a difference rather than the feed of the scan...

does this do auto- double sided printing or will it just prompt you to turn the page over and feed it back in manually?

Scanning or copying several documents at once is easy thanks to the 35-page document feeder, while automatic double-side printing helps you keep paper usage down.

Their ink supply system is good, but you need to think it through. For instance, get your free however many months ink free and at the same time, decide how many sheets you are likely to print. Because I print rarely, elected to go for the 50 sheets per month at £1.99 per month. Somehow the printer is able to tell HP what you are using, then once the 50 sheets has been hit, they send out new batch. As yet I haven't used 50 since December, so lord knows how this will pan out. Effectively I should have received 6 more by now. Think it might be better to cancel and order ink as and when required, but don't know how much that will be, so, be sure to work out usage.

Please can someone explain why I should sign up for the 300 page per month first, I don't print much, so won't use much ink. You only get ink when the ink cartridges when they get low, not monthly, so what am I missing??

Because first months are free and if you'd need to print more than 50 pages a month you can. Basically it will be there should you need it, even if it's unlikely. You can possibly print some family photos etc. After the free period you can easily downgrade the plan to 50 pages or cancel altogether. It's up to you.

I've printed forms and photos on my HP instant Ink printer and it worked superbly. Don't see why this wouldn't be any different.

Ordered, thanks OP. From reviews It seems like a very capable printer for the price (including above-average photo prints), but one of the slower inkjets, with monochrome text quality slightly below par. For printing the odd photograph and plane tickets etc., this will be perfect.

I got my today and automatic duplex does not work... #@#@## ..
What is the usage if you have to do manual duplex... trying to update drivers.. looks like issue with Windows 10.
Any ideas/suggestions??

If you mean double sided printing you just have to ensure you select this prior to printing in the preferences/options. If you talk about double sided scanning using the top feed then this printer does not have this option.

I meant printing. I did the above .. but to no avail.. But was able to fix the problem with driver set up, etc.

I subscribed to Instant ink 5 months trial, setup the printer and printed only a calibration page. But I already received a new set of cartridges from HP!! And I haven't even used the printer yet.. LOL. I guess the cartridges cost at least £20+. Anybody got the cartridges already?

Just bought one, thanks. I assume I sign up for the free ink trial when the printer is installed. It occurs to me that if you sign up for the highest ink consumption, then get 20 or so sheets of paper loaded into your printer, then print a full stop on each page, then reload the same sheets of paper numerous times, the printer will register a lot of pages printed and so will start ordering ink for you. I will try it out to see if I can build up a little store.

put me off a bit.
What is the other ? I assume 3 months free comes with it - freeink gets you another month - how do you get the extra month to make it 5 ?
