Sadly we are becoming a printer throw-away society :disappointed:
The replacement cartridges cost more than this product....what to do with the old DJ2130 when you change to next HUKD printer??? (_

With the cheapest online store I can find charging £21.59 for a set of standard carts, this is truly a disposable printer.
6.1p per page also makes it about 12 times as expensive to run as my Epson Workforce, although obviously the printer cost is a lot less.

I had one of these, after 1 week in it wouldn't print, after hours on the phone to the HP helpdesk {the guy was great to be fair} he determined the printer heads had failed. He sent me a new complete printer by next day delivery and told me to throw away the printer I had. 6 weeks later the same thing happened, totally lost faith in HP.
I have now switched to laser, much much better

My HP has a three year warranty and over three years worth of Instant Ink. Takes all the hassle out of printing. The print app works great on me and my family's phones and devices.

The previous comment to mine declared issues with HP. My comment was basically to show that HP have enough confidence in their printer to give me 3 years of warranty. Also, if Instant Ink is available it is a great system, if it suits you. There. Happy?

No WiFi so you'd have to connect your tablet physically.

A 3 year warranty extension is available on the HP website for selected printers until 31/07/17.
Glad that scrumpypaul has a working and able printer, in my experience I was unlucky twice, my time is more important than spending hours on the hone to Mumbai explaining my printer issues.
Hopefully scrumpypaulwont have to go through this part of the HP experience.

I'm wary of HP printers, I currently have a 6700 and the only reason I'm looking for a new one is because it keeps telling me that my pattern cartridges are faulty.

I used to swear by HP printers, they were the BEST; but about the time Windows Vista came out, HP seemed to decide printers werent worth the effort, and quality and support started to decline. The final pinch for me was when they failed to produce proper drivers for my almost new and rather expensive workgroup printer when Win7 came out; you couldnt even get the Vista drivers to work correctly, so I had to run a WinXP box JUST to print.
(They had a basic driver that would print - but no double sided, no collation, no wifi and no network support)
Needless to say, when that printer finally failed, HP was off the list when it came to a replacement.

Have you heard of compatibility mode or universal drivers?

Read what I said; I dont buy an all singing, all dancing work group printer to print the odd single page via a USB cable; the "Universal" print driver disabled every advanced feature of the printer; and compatibility mode crashed the PC 95% of the time if you tried to do anything other than a simple print job, or even check the ink levels (USB error according to the logs), and STILL wouldnt work via ethernet.
The very, very final straw was a (very) cheap HP for my son; which required a 2.5 GIGABYTE file install, as there was no way to separate all the "value added" carp HP had added to the install package without installing it all first, rebooting and then deleting it.
Boy, I am glad the printer was a freebie, because I would have screamed the place down if I had been made to pay for it.
