I wouldn't take my car to Halfords for a check up - they are a shop :confused: - I do take it to Halfords autocentres , a different thing from the stores and no better or worse than any other garage service outfit . You really should grow up before using the word "Halfrauds" because your mates think its cool ? Try to get a mind and opinions of your own , you just appear childish , ignorant and silly - to put it politely :disappointed:

For those after a road bike;
It's unlikely to double up with the existing 20% discount the benefit here is the 20% is applied to bikes not normally discounted.
The road bikes I like/recommend would be the Carrera Virtuoso
It's a cassette based/claris road bike but has high tensile steel forks. I prefer steel over carbon myself due to greater durability and lifespan. Normally £325 but with 20% off would be £260 and you might get another £6-7 cashback through topcashback.
There is also the Carrera Vanquish Disc with carbon forks and disc brakes. Normally £425 so £340 and another £9 approx back in cashback.
My personal favourite is the Voodoo Limba which also at £425 will be £340 plus £9 cashback. This is a heavy duty cyclocross bike with chromoly forks. A great bike for fast commuting, coping with rough roads and even off road and still competitive with many other road bikes. Disc braking again adds to safety. A very good spec at a great price.
If your buying don't forget to go through topcashback and be on the site close to 8pm and get your bike and check out quickly there may be limited bikes available discounted.
I think its better to have the bike assembled instore and get your free 6 week check but if you know your Halfords cycle department isn't very good then better to get it delivered to your home. Make sure you choose the right option for you.
Carrera and Voodoo bikes are fantastic quality and well priced at the best of times but with 20% off even better. Halfords very nicely give different brands to different quality levels with Apollo being their low end entry level models which are normally best avoided especially their mountain bikes.
8-10pm for cycling.

Disappointed with the bikes sale as the 20% off isn't a new deal. Been watching 2 bikes for a few weeks and they've had 20% off the whole time. This 'deal' isn't offering anything further - just the existing price!

Any view on the Boardman bikes (Road Sport)? I was thinking of getting one due to frame sizes (and depending on discount).

Any other views on whether the bikes with a current 20% discount will be doubly discounted tonight? I'm suspecting...no.
I have an Apollo Evade ready to collect (not paid yet) which was on sale this past weekend for 20% off (£190 down to £152).

Well I've been looking at the Bizango and it was £500 the other day, its now £625 but the 20% discount will miraculously bring it back to £500!! I like Halfords, but I despise their sales tactics, its borderline dishonest :smirk:

Give them a call, they happily refunded me the £40+ difference on a bike I bought and said it was policy to do so within a certain timeframe (mine was a week). If they don't, simply buy at the reduced price and then return it on the old receipt :wink:

Not sure they are crooks they are just not trained for today's high tech cars.Sure they can undo a sump plug and screw a filter on then pour in the wrong oil but hey so do Kwik fit ATS etc.
