I saw it for £21 instore in Asda (next to Etihad Stadium Manchester) on Wednesday 12/07. Not sure on the price now, sorry! Asda's website is £30.

Can anybody shed some light on what specifically people want these for? As far as I know, these Chromecasts allow you to stream media directly from your phone via screen mirroring. I'm interested to know what sort of people this applies to as my Smart TV can have the same apps that my phone can, so I can just stream directly from my TV or even my PC?... I know there's something I'm missing, I just don't know what.

Predominantly use mine for Google Movies, Wuaki and Plex. BT Sport also when I had it. My wife uses it for catch-up as ITV Hub on NowTV only goes back 7 days for some reason.

I'm fairly certain the majority of people that use these have a Smart TV already so i'm sure it's something entirely else.

Myself, my parents and sister all have them and don't have a smart tv. We use them for streaming football to the tv (legally) from websites and streaming iplayer etc.

I have a smart TV, but in my sitting room I have an old plasma with no aerial or multi room packages. This is for that room.

Thanks OP, reserved a £19 one from Currys last week but didn't end up getting one. Been keeping an eye on Tesco since last night and it just came back in stock.
