The Half Life series is like Star Wars without Return of the Jedi. Lord of The Rings without Return of the King. Fleetwood Mac suddenly becoming best friends again and deciding not to record the rest of Rumours. Michelangelo painting most of the ceiling of the Sistine chapel but couldn't be arsed to go and finish it.
It's amazing but still shocking to me it has been left by Valve for 10 years now.

How hard is it to apply mods to this - I was told my a work colleague a mod is available that upgrades the graphics considerably, be nice to pay through again with it applied if any good

If you want to install storyline mods etc. they tend to include an installer with them.
If you want a great cinematic mod, FakeFactory is superb and has an installer.
Generally, you install materials or mods to - (drive)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2\custom
You can put .vpk packages (if you come across some) in there as they are and they will work.

Disgusting, i pre-ordered HL2 silver pack in 2003 for £29.99, and now they are selling the game for £1.19 only 14 years later.....i will never buy another steam game again, unless of course they have kind of game sales through the year, but apart from that i am done with valve, how can they treat their fans like this, i may take this to court, outrageous.

Cold, had the complete half life back catalogue free with my graphics card back in 2004 :confused:
.... teasing- have some heat! Just played through this on the Orange Box BC on XB One, still a great great game from Ravenholm to the end!

Nice one, I bought the valve special pack that included all the half life / black mesas etc... was still surprised how great it looked so many years later.

Great news! They're clearing through stock so there's room for Half-Life 3
Can code SUMMER2017 be used only once ? As i bought half life with it and now i see there is more amazing offers on games, but code does not work anymore.

The price drop is probably because HL3 appeared on Bethesda's Q4 2019 release list which was leaked on Reddit this morning. It looks like Valve have sold on the rights, and Bethesda is the best fit now for the franchise anyway. It's being debated how legit that report leak is, but the same user also leaked the info on Anthem which turned out to be right.

I've often thought that the other two broke new ground in some way, and there hasn't really been anything to release HL3 with that would achieve the same effect. Part of me hoped that with VR seeming to take off at the moment, perhaps it could be that. I'll keep hoping, I reckon.:smile:

No clue, rumours of HL3 have been going around for years and it's been 10 years since the last HL game so who knows. Writers for Half-Life have left the company though and it appears Valve cares more about Steam / selling games vs making them now.
We may see a HL3 one day, but who can say really.
