that can happen.

Some are saying that orders will be cancelled.
Splashmo
24 Jul 17 #20
Probably as all orders are against the T&Cs. So will probably be cancelled.

If the above happens, and it probably will, Viking should really have the system in place to stop this happening at shopping basket level. i.e 'Naff off with your voucher code' error if using it on gift cards.

TCB refused to work. I tried different browsers, no blockers, etc. spent over 10 minutes and every time just said 'may not track' and wouldn't even take me to the seller's page. TCB isn't as reliable as it once was, almost not worth the effort these days.

Ordered earlier and thank you op.

Did anyone chance it through TCB? I see I'm getting a fruther £6. No issue if I don't receive the cashback but effectively it becomes about £82 with a free yoda mug (and I WANT that Yoda mug. That I do)
ST3123
25 Jul 17 #67
I went through TCB simply because there is no reason not to. the worst that can happen is TCB decline the cashback, they can't change your order as that is with the retailer, so they can't penalise you for claiming cashback even if technically it shouldn't qualify.

TCB have been getting increasingly flaky at providing cashback for me lately, though still marginally better than quidco, so I have no desire to make their job any easier, I'll claim cashback on anything that lets me whether I qualify or not :stuck_out_tongue:

ST3123
25 Jul 17 #73
Not really, ok maybe a dispatch email is a common courtesy most companies do (take it you checked your spam) but IME it is MORE unusual to get a phone call about an online order. generally the phone number is more a backup for if something is wrong or they have to check on something i.e. more the exception than the rule...

Can certainly complain and would advise doing so if that happened. Personally I would use something like ceo email ceoemail.com/ to find contact details of someone in charge (or at least above general CS level) and write a strongly worded complaint email about it. I have done this many times when I feel I have been treated unfairly by a company. I haven't had 100% success but it definitely seems to get a favourable response more times than it doesn't.

Failing that there is always complaining on social media as that makes it very public and so the company has a far greater incentive to at least appear interested in putting it right.....

26 Jul 17 #88
There was a deal with Viking a few years ago - you got a free vacuum cleaner with certain orders (I think). I bought a nice office chair which I was specifically after and was massively reduced in price. The vacuum came but never got the chair. Viking offered a full refund and didn't want the vacuum back. Kind of a weird shopping experience and in the end gave the vacuum to charity last year lol. Let's hope we all get the orders in the end.

People will get the vouchers.

No one's actually received a cancellation/refund email. The vouchers will arrive separately from the mug.

12% discount is small for a company such as Viking. T&Cs state all sorts but it's quite rare for a large company to follow them especially when the discount is relatively small.

For example, Ocado regularly send me £20 off codes wys £80 - T&Cs state not valid on stamps, baby formula etc. Stamps are delivered. Tesco send me £10 off vouchers wys £60 - T&Cs state not valid on gift cards. Works on gift cards in store.

Prepare to eat your words once everyone gets their mugs and vouchers...

If there's some sort of issue, and they're not willing to ship the gift cards to people, why the heck aren't they emailing people ASAP to let them know? And to refund them straight away? Seems like they're waiting for people to chase it up on live chat, as above, which is just not on.

Unless, of course, most people are still getting their orders.

ST3123
27 Jul 17 #124
Aren't you jumping the gun a bit? It's still only been a few days yet and they have already sent the free gift portion of the order, which to me at least is a good sign and indicates the order accepted and in progress. if the cards are fulfilled by a third party as it says viking can't really control how fast that part of the order gets shipped.

Personally I never open eBay/Paypal cases without first making every effort to get in touch with the seller/retailer and giving them reasonable time to sort out the problem themselves. As a occasional eBay seller I know how inconvenient and frustrating it is having some random case opened out of the blue and the money yanked out of my account and right into paypal's. Admittedly a huge company like viking can absorb that far more easily than a lowly personal seller like myself but I still think it's best to leave a paypal case till last resort rather than the first thing you do....

I assumed you had ordered after seeing the deal on here, which was only about 3 days ago. This deal appeared 3 days ago. The Gift Cards are sourced separately and arriving separately. Even if they were sent immediately (unlikely, given that there's a 3rd party involved) second class mail they wouldn't arrive until tomorrow. Next week is far more likely.

Received the mug yesterday.today i've contact cs and that's what they replyed Caitlin Blick: Unfortunately there has been a pricing error with these gift vouchers which is being dealt with by another Team at the moment. You should receive a call from them within the next day or so, however at the moment these orders are not being sent out.

Not looking good. I take it there is still no one who has had a gift card from this yet?

If no further movement I will definitely make contact with them next week.

So far I have two orders in different states. First (earlier) order they took payment and have received the mug and a delivery note (that makes no mention at all of me even ordering a gift card). Second, has made pretty much no progress whatsoever with the paypal payment sitting there not yet taken and order stuck on "confirmed"

another update from myself,

Notice in the remark section on my order it says "CONTACT" with my name and number. Presumably to break the bad news. Will give CS a phone on Monday. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
ST3123
29 Jul 17 #179
That might just be a default behaviour of their order system as mine shows exactly the same, even though I didn't enter anything into the field, might just be to show them contact details at the warehouse etc rather than saying that they are actually going to contact you. Mine has said that since I placed the order so I think if they were going to they would have contacted me already though I guess it may depend on the volume of orders received.

My order still just says with carrier rather than on route like someone elses did above. Will give it till monday and if it hasn't at least moved to on route I'm contact them and will push them to honour the gift card as they have sent the mug out already, which signals acceptance of the order, otherwise no reason for them to send the mug. Yes, it may be against the T&C but if they really didn't want people to do it they could easily block the code at checkout, they can't expect customers to do their job for them, if their system allows invalid orders to pass through then that points to a major issue with their website....
GazW1888

I am afraid not much hope as i read through the thread, looks like many people doing live chat to alert Viking.

I wonder why...why people doing that? I would think keep quiet (as a common strategy) a few days thus would not hurt, just let the electron shipping system to flow unless they really need the money back right away?!

I keep assume user on hotuk should know that already about price glitch but looks like I am totally wrong.

So if I was the Viking management, I would definitely intervene the e-ordering system to cancel all the orders at all,

At the beginning we hope at least a few bought earlier could get it but now hopes all vanished. I have to state that I purchased the deal very late, so I know my chance is very slim but really hope someone like OP could get it.
Newbold
30 Jul 17 #186
Very true. The last thing you do in this sort of situation is contact the retailer. Far too early for that, and if anything's blown this deal out of the water, that's it.
MR1123
30 Jul 17 #187
Because then it would be a case of getting refund without an explanation which some customers may not like. Some retailers do not use emails as a form of communication in these circumstances.

tsimehC
30 Jul 17 #194
They confirmed the order via email and gave a stated delivery date on there. Don't see why they can't just send out a follow-up email with the explanation on the reason for cancellation.

Leaving customers in the dark for a week (or expecting them to chase the order) is unprofessional and they're wasting resources as well if they really are going to call every customer. This is also an inconvenience for those that can't take calls during normal working hours.
tsimehC
30 Jul 17 #195

Newbold
31 Jul 17 #199
If these really are being cancelled, isn't it a little odd that for the sake of a relatively small sum of money per potential new customer (maybe around £7, bearing in mind that they won't be paying £100 for these cards) they're actually losing (and hacking off) that potential new customer, rather than retaining it?

Most companies would be delighted to be picking up potential new customers for such a small amount.

No mug or vouchers yet. But money taken from my credit card on Friday.

Bit of a difference between the usual 'potential new customer' and the hordes of people from HUKD only visiting (and creating additional accounts) to try to get 12% off vouchers for other shops whilst ignoring the terms of the code they use.
Santa001
31 Jul 17 #205
That's how they'll make money to cover the free mugs for half of the HUKD community

Still waiting to get mugged too.
ST3123
31 Jul 17 #206
TBH accepting a refund is letting them off the hook and settling for less as your £88 won't get you a £100 giftcard anywhere else. If you need the money urgently and can't afford to wait / argue it out thats fair enough but I'd personally encourage everyone to push them to honour the order, especially if you have had the free mug as that indicates clear order acceptance as they wouldn't send that out if they didn't expect there had been a successful order placed i.e. the mugs are free WITH a purchase not just free in general....
Eph101
31 Jul 17 #207
I agree, should try and hold out. If they try and ring me I'll just ignore it and only complain if they outright cancel. (I like how people are already ebaying their mugs to get their money's worth...)

ST3123
31 Jul 17 #211
Yep, if they cared so much about their precious T&Cs their order system should enforce them rather than letting customers place orders AND taking payment for technically invalid orders. At the very least there should be a manual check of some kind before payment is taken and part order (mug) dispatched.

T&Cs like software license agreements are frequently used as a cover all to take as much of the responsibility away from the retailer / provider as possible and are often deliberately long and opaque to avoid the average punter pulling them up on onerous terms. It has been proven they are not the same as actual law and only enforceable in some cases....
Ashe
31 Jul 17 #212
How ridiculous. Trying to put the blame onto the retailer for people ordering things against the T&C's - ordering without even LOOKING at the voucher T&C's - by saying 'well it let me do it'. I'm sure they'll give you a refund for the mug.

Yes, but that's absolutely irrelevant unless you think this is one of these cases (it isn't).

Hang on, am I right in thinking these one4all gift cards are essentially preloaded VISA debit cards?
They've got valid until, card number, and CVV2.

Do we actually have to go through one4all's amazon page to convert it to Amazon credit? or can we do it manually?

I'm thinking we might be able to combine it with one of Amazon's gift card purchase promotions(£5 extra on a £50/£100 giftcard), and get even more Amazon credit for our money

I topped up my Amazon with 80 for a free fiver no problem. I can't order with the remaining 20 balance that should be, card gets declined. The balance check on one4allgiftcard.co.uk hasn't updated, says 100 when should be 20 left.

This whole thing has been a bit of a ballache really. Mug came arrived cracked so straight to the bin. Free 12 is great but this hasn't exactly been quick or easy and I think chasing more bonus really isn't worth it. Too many glitches.

Guys, about the Amazon £5 bonus. There's a trick to it.

First of all, it's invitation only. It's in the terms and conditions (lol T&C's again)

Anyway, the work links for everyone that clicks it and the promotion will add to your account. But it's unlikely that you'll actually get the £5 bonus if you never really got the original email.

So.

1. Go to customer service and say you didn't get the bonus after topping up.

2. They'll ask if you got the email invitation. You say yes.

3. They'll ask you when you got the invite. You say, a week or so ago.

4. They'll send you a link and ask you what happens when you click on it. You tell them it says,

"You have successfully registered for the promotion."

5. They'll say thanks and manually credit you with the £5 off your next order.

Adds instantly, I used it and checked out. This whole thing saved me £17 on something I wanted to buy. Nice one Chanchi. :raised_hand:

Chanchi and Vanderlust and everyone else... I got £117 worth of Amazon vouchers (and a mug) for £88. Now to blow it on some warehouse deals.... :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: sorry, made a mistake. Meant £105 for £88, is an extra £17

Hi did you convert first at one4all or did you purchase using the gift card straight off Amazon ?
matwalaboy
5 Aug 17 #292
How 117 though - the vouchers are for 100 bought for 88 and possibly the 5 quid voucher trick - unless I miss something?

5 Aug 17 #293
Sorry, my mistake (will edit my post)
Meant an extra £17 or £105 for the price of £88

Apologies for the confusion

How do you use these cards on amazon? Thanks

You go to one4allgiftcard.co.uk/amazon and follow the instructions there.

Thought I'd log on to One4All website and transfer the 10 x £10 vouchers into an Amazon 1 x £100 Gift Card and seem to have faulted at the first hurdle.

I didn't think I was stupid and maybe its the half bottle of wine I'm currently at that's contributing to me not being able to progress any further than page 2 which asks for payment details!

Please can someone who has successfully exchanged said vouchers for an Amazon gift card confirm whether you have to change them for 10 x £10 Amazon gift cards of is it possible to exchange the 10 x £10 One4All vouchers for a single £100 gift card? I don't really care if you can't but obviously its would be easier & quicker if you could?
Thanks

Contacted viking direct this morning to find out the status of my order as I hadnt received the gift cards as yet. Looks like I am amongst the unlucky few who will not be receiving it as my order is going to be cancelled. Alas!
Airwind
7 Aug 17 #301
customer service agent informed that if Payment has not been taken as yet from credit card/paypal account (in pending state) then it won't be honoured. They had a hard time even finding my order on their system and are absolutely certain that the order was never placed/received. I tried reasoning by providing my order number, viking number, account number to state that their system surely must have received the order but to no avail.

got my card but they took £100 out of my account. suppose to take £88. called them up and said it was a mistake but they dont give it to me for £88. have you lot got it for £88???

Wouldn't have thought they could do that! Have you got an email confirmation for £88? If so, I should go to your credit card company.

Does anyone know if you have to redeem the Gift Certificate on Amazon straight away?
sabresonic
7 Aug 17 #308
I have done and that is a further reason why I posted my query!

The link takes you to the following the instructions...

'On the next page, enter your One4all Gift Card details:

1. Enter the One4all Gift Card number in the ‘Card Number’ field
2. Enter your name in the ‘Cardholder field’
3. Enter the ‘Valid Thru’ date, found on the front of your One4all Gift Card, as your ‘Expiry Date’
4. Enter the CVV code, found on the back of your One4all Gift Card, in the ‘Security Code’ field

Click ‘Pay now’ to convert your chosen amount into an Amazon Gift Card. Your code will be sent directly to your email address.'

It makes no mention whether you can exchange more than 1 One4all gift card.

I posted the question to see if anyone else who ended up with 10 x £10 One4all cards has managed to exchange them for 1 x £100 Amazon gift card. I'm guessing you can't, but wanted to check.

Simply telling me to follow the link someone has posted previously and essentially read the instructions suggests you think I haven't done so already and that I'm just being lazy asking for help on here which I'm not.

A simple 'yes' or 'no' to my initial question would have been of helpful so I'm assuming either (1) you don't actually know or (2) haven't read them yourself...or if you have, failed to understand my question which they clearly don't address.

Same situation here, customer support are saying they cant find my order, even though i can see it in my account and also sent them a screenshot of my account with the order. Paypal are holding my money, any advice on how to go about this??

7 Aug 17 #313
... :unamused: but did you only have one x £100 One4all voucher to exchange???

I have 10 x £10 vouchers, (it was the only option that deducted the 12% discount when I purchased the deal) hence my post!

Got a further email from their customer services team confirming that my PayPal account will not be charged. So I will hold onto to this just in case the status of my pending PayPal transaction changes to confirmed anytime, although highly unlikely. Also this email can be used to raise dispute with PayPal if needed

I only had 1 One4All (£100) gift card. Just reading your post again, do you have 10 One4All (£10) cards? If so, then you would have to redeem each one, wouldn't you?

Mug arrived today in a huge box with no packing, surprisingly arrived in one piece
andre4000
9 Aug 17 #318
Mug arrived today with Yodel. It took exactly 2 weeks for Vikings to despatch! As others mention, box is ridiculously inappropriately sized- it could fit about 20 mugs. There really should have been some of those air-bag thingies as the mug (inside just a box of its own) rattles all over otherwise. Mug is quiet cheap almost fake looking, colours just seem off, not aligned, I don't know sort of thing you'd expect to see in a non-branded family run corner shop. Gave it to my newphew.
gwiddecombe
9 Aug 17 #319
Yeah probably leave it another week as no money taken. Sounds like it will get cancelled though :-(
tsimehC
10 Aug 17 #320
My card arrived eventually and topped up via the website without any issues. Haven't received the mug but not expecting it turn up, not going to kick up a fuss over it as it was just icing on the cake.

Belated thanks @Chanchi32!

Doesn't work with this card. I have successfully used top up before with other (regular) debit/credit cards, it gets cancelled with the One4All card.

"We have cancelled your recent Amazon.co.uk order(s) because we are unable to charge your credit card.

If you have questions about declined credit card payments, please review the information below.

*****
WHY DID MY CARD DECLINE?

We are unable to determine why your credit card was declined. A charge can be declined for a variety of reasons, some of which may not be related to the validity of the credit card. For this reason, we often try processing the charge again at a later time.

You may want to contact your card issuer. Some issuers may place restrictions on electronic and Internet purchases."
Vanderlust
11 Aug 17 #322
Are you trying to use the actual One4All card itself on Amazon?
duckfat
11 Aug 17 #323
That is how to get the top up. You don't seem to have understood, despite posting about it.
faxmax
11 Aug 17 #324
Amazon seems not to accept as credit card for any purchase, I tried placing a regular order and it was canceled with similar. Converted to gift card. Not worth the hassle for a fiver.

12 Aug 17 #325
No it isn't. GJ 10/10.
andre4000
13 Aug 17 #326
What top up are you thinking of?
bibizizi
13 Aug 17 #327
I used on Amazon, if you convert it just becomes an Amazon gift card code.
bibizizi
13 Aug 17 #328
There is no other top up. nublets and vanderlust are being passive-aggro. When you convert on one4all that is exactly what happens, it becomes Amazon credit/gift code. You can't then get a top up on Amazon credit. The top up is when buying credit from Amazon directly. It works because the one4all card acts as a Visa credit card. It's really not that hard, people are just mad or trolling for some reason.

Well, after waiting patiently for a month, I chased my order the other day and just received this reply:

"
Unfortunately we need to inform you that your recent order for £100 gift card and Star Wars Yoda mug is not valid.
Due to an issue in our system you were allowed to use a voucher code on a gift card which normally isn’t possible*.
Your order hasn’t been processed and you won’t be charged. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Head to Viking.com to make sure you don’t miss out on any of our other great deals!
Hope to see you soon
Viking
*Click here to read our Voucher activity Terms and conditions

Great customer service then. Order still showing as "Confirmed".

Fair enough if the voucher was invalid, but incompetent order processing/updates. Crossing these people off from any future shopping.

I can sympathise with you and have come to realise that Viking have erratic ways of processing orders!

I recently ordered 2 separate gift orders ( 2 x £15 one4all cards ) on the same day.

One order was processed the other was not ... I rang up to complain but in the end just couldn't be bothered to pursue it further.

For me Viking is not a retailer I trust and think they have dubious processes ... I'm certainly wary of them now ... that's my experience anyway!
