I'm GPU less after I undersold my 980ti FTW.. Ordered the 1070 tonight but couldn't resist this (and still have my 1070 on Amazon .DE if that ever materialises!!).
Will mean a rethink on case though

The 1070 I bought a while back had struggled to fit in an Antec P80 case, this 1080 looks the size of the Titanic!

I think the consensus is that the 1080ti's don't overclock so it's a waste of better parts.

I believe it's got 3x 10cm fans. It really is a behemoth.
Although all aftermarket 1080 Ti cards have massive coolers. Big Pascal needs a lot of thermal mass to keep cool.

Miners buying up all mid range cards, but don't want high end, so companies bringing high end prices down a bit to give gamers some relief cos they can't get mid range ATM. Just a theory. Probably wrong. Either way they been making a killing lately off the miners so they can make this adjustment on the high end to keep their gamer customer base happy whilst still turning a profit.

Im guessing its more likely nvida has some info on amds new vega cards (to be announce at end if this month) and they are trying to shift stock/ price their cards more competetively before amd announces.

I don't think this is an nvidia thing, everywhere else still sells these for ~£750

Nvidia card may be great for gaming but not as efficient as AMDs for mining... By quite a bit!
£641 for the EVGA SC2 in case anybody is interested.

Can someone give me a basic summary of this versus the Founders version that is also posted on here today?
Looking at building a high spec setup but there becomes a level of stats that I don't know if I'll notice the difference?

In a nutshell, they're identical unless being pushed to their limits in which case an aftermarket card will maintain its clock better, the FE card will throttle slightly to keep thermals in check.
So, if you're playing at 1440p there's probably nothing in it barring a few DB extra noise, but at 4K ultra you'll notice 5-10fps at the top end.
