This was going for well over rrp only a few days ago. Great customer service and best bet for adding the evga hybrid cooler

Spoke with live chat the other day and they said it was in the advanced shipping stage and would definitely ship at midnight... Woke up the next day to a "we don't know when this item will be in stock" email
Escalated it a couple of times over the phone and eventually was told that they'll definitely have stock coming in on the 28th and mine would be allocated stock from that shipment, but I'll believe it when I see it! Apparently they still have hundreds of open orders for this item and have been getting stock, but just never enough to fulfil them all. Fingers crossed yours is included in the next batch.
I'm in the same boat, would've given up ages ago if it wasn't such a bargain!

So did you definitely get it on the 28h?
I took the plunge with the gigabyte 1080ti with free destiny2. Going to order a kraken g12 for it. I still have this order open but it's never coming is it :-D

Nope. Eventually gave up on Friday and just cancelled it. Got a £50 voucher for my troubles which I put towards my Xbox One X order straight away, so still a decent outcome. Think I'll just carry on with my 1070 for the time being (which isn't exactly a terrible card to begin with!) and will see what Nvidia bring out next year. One of the Destiny 2 bundles would've made sense now that you mention it though, as I'll end up buying that anyway (thought the beta was OK on console but absolutely loved it on PC - 60 fps and m+k really transform it!)

I have also been waiting on this since I ordered it when the HUKD listing went up!
I've kept my order open and not cancelled it, although I did recently order a EVGA 1080Ti SC Black Edition instead from Amazon after waiting so long, which arrived yesterday and runs perfectly with no coil whine.
After contacting support once a week for the past 6 - 7 weeks, I have had all sorts of lies from them, with promises on three occasions that they are DEFINITELY getting stock the next day and my order will DEFINITELY be shipped the next day, with a million assurances and yet nothing.
Then decided to order a 1080Ti Asus Rog Strix from Amazon Warehouse for about £640 and received a 1080Ti box with a 1060 inside (since all the Strix range look more or less the same) that someone must have sent back to them... that obviously got sent back. Cheeky buggers tried telling me if they gave me a partial refund of £132, I can keep the card. Because a beaten up, second-hand 1060 is really worth £508 lol... Idiots. Sent that straight back for a refund.
Luckily, with them messing up so much, I managed to get £50 in credit from their customer service and used this to pay for the EVGA 1080Ti SC Black Edition at just over what this Founders Edition costs.
Most other places are showing this product as 'End Of Life', so I really don't think Amazon will be getting anymore stock. If you want my advice, as soon as a decent card pops up for a decent price, buy it (and don't forget to complain to Amazon Live Chat and get some store credit for this inconvenience)!
Good luck to anyone still waiting for this.

Bummer.. Mine is still 29th July - 7th Aug, so hopefully theres some stock due. Amazon support are pretty great, I'm sure if you complained enough they'd let you order an equivalent card for the same price.
/edit Changed to 16th-23rd Aug... Complained and they changed my shipping to expedited and said it would be prioritised to ship first when they got stock in...

Yeah I usually watch Gamers Nexus teardowns. I can't recall anything bad about any of the recent cards. The MSI Armour is the stand out garbage cooler to watch out for on a 1080 Ti but maybe there's other smaller things I'm missing from other board partners.

The founders edition is rock solid. Never heard anything about poor quality components on any recent nVidia hardware. Just coil whine issues but that's an inherent issue with all cards and even some other devices (Dell XPS 13).
Is it worth doing any mining? What sort of money do you walk away with on such power hungry cards?

This is a really nice GPU, really quiet including under load which I wasn't expecting but dumps more hot air than me!

Google nicehash, converting bitcoins to £ is the tricky/expensive part unless you do it in £100s.
The more casual use of mining became allot less enticing as the profitability has halved over the last month.
The way it is more efficient for dedicated mining rigs vs a gaming PC is that a gaming PC uses around 150w without the graphics card. On a mining rig I put 6 graphics cards into it so a fair bit of the power overhead is gone.
Uzukami
9 Jul 17#45
Well in regards to mining I'm getting ~£3 a day from each 1080ti after electricity costs. It's very risky at the moment as shown by it being closer to £6 a day last month but it's like investing in the markets don't invest what you can't afford to lose.

With all the excitement surrounding it, I had been considering mining myself as my PC gets quite a lot of downtime because I play on consoles too. I currently idle cheap/bundle steam games for trading cards and sell them to put towards my next game purchases. Thought mining might be a better use of my PC downtime but the returns seem very small in actuality especially since I gather mining is heavy load, so higher power draw? where as idling steam games uses next to nothing, plus I'm not sure if the PC is good for anything else while mining, probably very slow if its at 100% utilization all the time...

I went from a 770 to a gtx 1060 and the difference is quite big actually. Watch dogs 2 the 1060 could get it real nice but not full settings at 1080p. The gtx 770 couldnt do that.
Also ghost recon wildlands the gtx1060 struggles. I'm sure there's other games too. This is more for 4k and maxing all games out completely.

lol the bog standard non ti GTX 1080 FE included in the Prime 20% warehouse deal is £610 2nd hand before the 20% off.

ST3123 to arnold.rimmer
7 Jul 17#32
Yes, but 1080P is really on the low end of the scale and a increasing number of people are upgrading to screens beyond 1080P and don't want to be stuck running 1080P on them. That said it is a stupid amount for one component and I personally tend to buy in the mid range, like the GTX1060 kind of level, which can still power a surprising number of games at 4K with careful settings tweaks....

7 Jul 17#28

The_Hoff
7 Jul 17#27
Of course it's down to the lottery, but the 1080ti is very much running at spec where AIB are concerned. Water/hybrid will ALWAYS perform better than air with all things being equal.
Numerous reviews (like GN) have demonstrated that elaborate PCB, trails, VRM or the number of 8-pin have little to no impact with the Ti. The chips themselves aren't binned either so there's no difference between low/top end, it's primarily just cooling
£641 for the EVGA SC2 in case anybody is interested.

YoungingtonCraigington
7 Jul 17#24
Water cooling doesnt necessarily mean better overclocks. You might get a GPU on the board that just needs a lot of volts to reach higher clock speeds and those voltage levels might be out of the regular range allowed for the GPU.
The_Hoff
7 Jul 17#23
Pascal is voltage limited which is why most cards play within +/-5%. Hybrid means better lower thermals and noise and more consistent boost clocks, seems FE will run 50deg under hybrid.
In short it'll outperform the AIB cards ruuning air.
Confuzz
7 Jul 17#22
Wouldn't you be better off just getting the strix as it has better lighting and the cost isnt much difference when getting the hybrid as well and saves a bit of hassle or is there a lot of performance gain to be made by using the hybrid kit
The_Hoff
7 Jul 17#21
Having read up on this, I'm getting an FE and a hybrid kit.

Hmm it's a LOT of cash but from what I've seen the best priced 1080TI by some margin and positively ideal for those with 4K displays. How is the founders edition compared to the aftermarket ones? I'd imagine as usual one fan on a card this powerful is far from ideal? And probably lowest clocked of the 1080TIs? Still think the founders edition cards look cool mind but is that worth £580...
