16 way insulated, dual RCD. Bought one for myself since mines from the 40's
RRP was over 80 quid on this.
Enjoy.

Is it metal? If not, it's not compliant.

Just install a metal box around it.

dont really like the BG rcds, many failed the electricians tests
new regs require metal boxes, so maybe you can get an empty metal box and just transfer all the stuff into it. (but would that work out cheaper?)

I dont keep up with the regs these days, when did the rules change??
A lot of the plastic CUs were rubbish, too thin, or brittle; the only one I would ever use was the MK Sentry.

Thanks to the OP, heat added.
But is it just me that gets slightly irritated when people put "Enjoy." at the end of a deal?
Don't tell ME what to do! I'll enjoy it if *I* choose to, thanks very much! Bossing me around, telling me to enjoy things...
YOU enjoy it.

Myself and a big group of friends all wish to join up some weekends and have a LAN party so with around 12-15 PC's and monitors all active at the same time I hope fitting this will help me!!!!

What?
Your 12-15 PC's and monitors all active at the same time, will use less power combined than most electric showers or cookers.

They said "Myself and a big group of friends all wish to join up some weekends and have a LAN party so with around 12-15 PC's and monitors all active at the same time I hope fitting this will help me!!!!".
You're welcome.

I doubt it, they will be in the region of 1000-1200 watts each, thats about 15,000 watts.

Say the monitors are old & inefficient and draw 200W each.
Are all these computers fitted out with triple-SLI GTX 980's or something?

If there is no manufacturing date on the product, there is no way of proving it was installed after the rules changed.

Just because a PC has a 1000W PSU doesn't mean it draws 1000W.
I have 2 x 1080 Ti cards in my mining/gaming rig.
Playing a game, it draws 400W.
Doing nothing, it draws about 50W
4K display included in the power figures.
15 people would be around 6kW.
Your MCB in your consumer unit will probably rated at 32amps for your socket ring mains.
32A x 230v = 7,360 watts power available to use... so you should easily be able to accomodate it.
Turning on your cooker won't make any difference either, because it will be on a separate circuit.
Although i'd be careful about maybe boiling the kettle when you are all playing games...
Also ring mains are usually split . upstairs and downstairs... each one will be able to do 7kW so if
half of you played upstairs and half downstairs then you've got nothing to worry about.
Cheers.
Am a qualified sparky btw.
You are much better off fitting more ring mains and sockets than a new CU.
A new CU won't change the twin and earth cable thickness.
A new CU won't allow you to handle more power than your previous one.
What you need are new ring mains / or re-wire with much thicker cable and an uprated MCB/RCBO

Thanks mate, i'm a bit clueless when it comes to electrics on this level. We had a house fire here once so i kinda go a bit OTT with it.
