Just from reviews I've read/watched. The Huawei P8 Lite (2017) is more comparable to a Moto G4 Plus.
The processor in the G5 was weaker than the G4 (God knows why Lenovo chose that genius move) and far weaker than the G4 Plus.

I have a 3gb ram Chinese phone with a Mediatek processor, (which probably isn't any better than the G5 with its better processor, but 2gb ram) and it's easily fine for browsing and light gaming.
I'm getting rid for malware reasons, but your G5 is going to be fine for all of your mobile needs, unless you're used to flagship phones.

Just tried the phone, box is a bit tatty but not as bad as above one. It seems like reseal as void stickers had been done twice, maybe the second one was done after putting the ee payg sim. Real product is 10 times better looking than the photo on the website. It looks like iphone 7 when I compared it to my iPhone. Make is excellent, screen is bright and color is great. First time using huawei and it's a surprise to me. I have also looked at the moto g5 and played a while at o2. The phone design is like a generation older though it has equipped great hardware but I have no confidence to lenovo phone which is not very well made.

I got the motorola g5 deal from Amazon (the 3gb dual sim one) . Paid 135£.
I have reserved one Huawei because I am planning to return the Motorola to Amazon.
Motorola does not have a compass and is a bit chunky and seems this is a better phone.
However the G5 has a removable battery.
I dont like the idea that when the battery will wear down on the huawei (which will happen for sure in the near future) I will find myself with a useless phone that i need to charge every 30 minutes instead of simply changing the battery as I would be able to do with a motorola.
I'm cant really decide which one to go with.
Any one any suggestion?

The main reason I'm on the lookout for a new phone is the battery in my brilliant Honor 7 is pretty much useless after less than 2 years. And the cheapest I can find a replacement is £79 inc postage etc. Not worth it considering the charging port is starting to go, too but I can live with that. This irreplaceable battery nonsense is almost as bad as Apple's built-in obsolescence devices.
A superb phone is ultimately going to have to get chucked just because of the battery (lasts about 1 hour now, and never quite sure when it's going to randomly shut down)
