Heads up! As of the new update released today, the season pass has been retired and all DLC will now be free!
They are also offering free trial weekends for PC, PS4 and Xbox One
Details from the link:
All of the Multiplayer DLC Unlocked for All
First, we’ve retired the DOOM season pass and are making all of the multiplayer DLC content available to all players. That’s three multiplayer DLC packs, which include nine of our best maps, three additional guns, three additional playable demons, new equipment, armor sets and more. That’s on top of the modes and features, like bot support, that players have been enjoying since late last year.
Free Weekends If you’re someone who just hasn’t tried DOOM yet, we’re giving you the ultimate opportunity to try out one of the most talked about games of 2016. Starting at 12:00 pm ET on Thursday, July 20, on Xbox One, 1pm ET on Thursday, July 20 on PC, and 12:00 pm ET on Thursday, July 27 on PlayStation 4, you can try DOOM for free. Blast hordes of demons in the first two levels of DOOM’s critically acclaimed campaign, then ratchet up the intensity by going for a high-score in Arcade Mode. Plus, you’ll also have unlimited access to DOOM’s multiplayer and SnapMap modes for the duration of the weekend. If you choose to purchase during the free weekend, all of your progress in campaign and multiplayer is saved and you’ll continue right from where you left off.

Update wont install for me . I have external drive with lots of space thought maybe because doom was downloaded on the internal drive but I have hitman on that to and all updates still install . Maybe because the new doom update is so big maybe . Have delete and reinstall whole thing on external drive .

great news but annoying for people who have allready payed
I got the season pass for BF1 and wish i didn't (_;) less people play on the new maps (not that there's a lot of maps to choose from because of how long it's taking DICE to release them) and you can keep trying it for free anyway
hopefully season passes are a thing of the past, devs should offer cosmetic DLC only so the community doesn't get divided

DLC is all multiplayer, is it right?

20 Jul 17#26
That is some size for a two level demo.
There is the normal demo on steam and the XBox one for those still looking to try this before they buy and not interested in muti play, that only come sin at 6 gig.

I think what you're doing is downloading everything and lock out most of it, so they hope it makes it easier if you decide to buy.

20 Jul 17#32
I bought the DLC for black ops 3 but never got to play it because everyone online only bought the £8.99 starter edition. It would be nice if bethesda gave season pass owners a key to one of their other games or something.

20 Jul 17#33
I'm guessing so. All the DLC is for the multiplayer which was/is not really that popular. This is a move to get more people to try the multiplayer.

20 Jul 17#34
Have you played it, i got bored after the single player intro and a few multiplayer matches. Not much to do and repetitive. Not sure if they will release more maps etc when they make the beta open to all. Also heard a lot of others saying the same, just hopefully they do add at least another map.

The Overwatch factor. Charging for content and splitting the community is stupid when you create a nice warm feeling and make money from goodwill spending on cosmetics.
It took Overwatch to prove the point. Other companies are just following.

All these excited comments in a hurry to download the content for a multiplayer component which by most accounts wasn't supposed to be very good, and not a single post so far from anyone who's played the game recently which claims anything different.
