I had two orders but only got one cancellation email for one of the orders, whereas it seems very hit and miss as some got no email, one email or they got an email for each order. I think that's very poor from them in that respect, although I do take into consideration that the £5 is a goodwill gesture, but I believe if you cannot offer for all then don't offer at all

I don't want to boast but I managed to get 5 New York box sets delivered for £5 each and sold them all which is pretty good reading the comments here. Also got £5 credit for Miami.

to be fair they were probably not aware of this until recently people had been querying about when they are receiving their boxsets to customer services after receiving the delay email which then probably red flagged it, hence the length of time and now the cancellations, but I could be wrong.

They have stock - they are selling NY 1-9 for £60. They just didn't wanted to sell it for £5. I don't blame them. Would have preferred to be nofified after a couple of days instead of a month though.

"Fulfilled by Amazon" just means that the seller has arranged for Amazon to hold their stock in Amazon warehouses and ship from there - you're still not buying from Amazon themsleves.

The Amazon Video purchases I have made in the past you can't see if it uses the promotional code until after the purchase, by looking at the receipt.

But if you still can use the remaining balance on another order, then I will give it a go. Didn't want to purchase say a 99p rental and it uses the promotional voucher and lose the remaining £4.01.

I'd suggest that you just try it by taking a test purchase to checkout stage and seeing if you have the option to use the credit.

I'm not a great fan of Amazon (their pushiness with Prime irks me), but if they have no stock, they can't fulfil the orders. Yes, it's disappointing not to receive the order, I feel that too, but given the volume of orders taken it shouldn't really come as a surprise. Most retailers would just cancel orders and stop there, without any compensation at all.

Im pretty f****d off with Amazon, they tried to fob me off when I asked for a stock query and got told if I want them I had to go to another buyer at £50+. Now they cancelled and only given £5 when I didn't receive any boxsets yet people who received one also got one. I do agree £10 should of been offered to people who received none and £5 if you received any of the two. Finally 3rd party does not qualify. F**k off you don't sell half the stuff I need, so I am forking out more

Also you had the chance to cancel order anytime you wanted. maybe they were trying to get more stock, would you prefer them not to have.

Although i slightly agree with what you are saying, but If I am honest you should be lucky you received the NY Box set and also recieved the £5 credit as many others like me did not receive neither box set and have been only given a £5 promo credit. If you expect to receive £10 even though you got half of your order then what should the people who got nothing receive? sorry don't mean to be harsh just reflecting on the situation.

Also I can confirm that the £5 promotional code comes off at checkout as I have just tested this and can only be used on items sold by Amazon solely and not 3rd party sellers.

I had the cancellation email this morning, though I suspected something was up earlier as my orders had all had estimated delivery dates in August but then a few days ago it went back to the generic "we don't have a date and will email to update", which is never a good sign. The email says I got the £5 but I did a test order and it wasn't there so I will be chasing them up on that.

Also oddly they seem to have completely removed the orders from my account (they aren't even in "cancelled orders"), which I find a bit fishy as it makes confirming details from the orders more difficult (have to dig out the original emails and anyone that doesn't save them is stuffed).

Rather annoyed with Amazon over this really, bit poor form to keep us hanging on this long then cancelling them. The £5 is a nice gesture but IMHO it should be £10 considering how long we have been waiting and I'd urge people to check it is actually there (mine isn't) I got one set of CSI New York though, which to be fair is more than some, still going to complain about the non-existent voucher though....

I think earlier someone said CS told them that it was fulfilled as a first come thing but I don't know if that's quite how they're working as it looks like some people who ordered later got NY before people that ordered earlier.

Not sure but im prime and had some csi new yorks amongst the first lot few weeks ago yet my mum who ordered set at same time as me isnt prime and hers came a week later but then my mate who ordered it isnt prime is still waiting and my status for miami says expected 3rd august so will see later what its updated to.

Yep, I think it's just the luck of the draw sometimes. Amazon have been good in the past for me too (I've had similar experiences with books listed under two different ISBNs when it's essentially the same book, and they've been happy to change).

Got to admit I'm with DaveWallace on this as seems to be very little point in contacting them as like Dave says they'll either get stock or they won't and to be honest it seems to be a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing with their customer service's information stock levels....

Mind you I haven't even got the NY set I ordered yet never mind Miami....wouldn't care but had both on my Amazon wishlist since they were released in 2014 waiting for an affordable price drop and although I ordered them on the 6th of July I definitely wasn't among the first to do so and suspect I'm not going to be one of the lucky ones on this now :disappointed:

As an aside though it's not unreasonable (ok so it is @ £5 each) that companies may be trying to shift their complete boxsets of the various series as noticed the latest trend seems to be releasing them in separate "sets" e.g. with CSI NY it's available as 3 individual sets featuring series 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, ER instead of being available in one big boxset like I have is now available in 3 separate sets featuring series 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, All Creatures Great and Small 2 separate sets featuring series 1-3 and 4-7...that's just a few examples but there are more.

Yeah id second this. They often dont know much more about stock dates than what it already says in order history. Only time it might be worth contacting them is if there is a newer version available that has stock with amazon. I did this recently with the original star trek series box set on bluray and since id been waiting over two months they let me swap my order to the newer boxset while keeping the price at the £10 i originally ordered at! :thumbsup:

I ordered Miami and one season of original CSI which was £14.04 but charged £1.77 for it. If i cancelled Miami, would i be charged the extra £12.27?

I only ordered the allowed 3 units of each, which is hardly excessive compared to the bulk buying you see other members often boast about. Out of that I have, like many others only had one set of New York received, so it isn't like Amazon have prioritised my multiple orders at the expense of others, and I'm happy that they don't, as from this thread many seem to have gotten one of the new york set.

If they one day fulfil the remainder of my orders great, if not I did well to get even one set but I don't think I'm hurting anyone elses chances since I have only had one unit delivered just like most others....

Oh well you win some and you lose some. Had some great savings over the years due to mispricing. Sometimes they get delivered , sometimes not. You might not get this one but hover around the site and you could get the next one.
Some people will always order 50 of everything to sell elsewhere and although annoying when they get theirs and you don't get yours , what can you do?

Great so some idiot at Amazon who left this deal running for days have now potentially let hundreds of customers down. My loyalty has now gone down as these were two series I have been after for years and the one time I could afford it some greedy multiple purchases people have milked the market dry for single purchase non-prime members.

Update.... Just spoke to customer services as had an email saying that they have now cancelled the Star Trek The Full Journey bluray set as they are not having it back in stock... I then said what is the chance of me getting my order of CSI Miami and they just said slim to none... Great.. Not a happy bunny.... I did change the delivery at one point, as it was going to a locker near work, but then I took a week off, so wanted it delivered home. That change put the dates back on delivery. Back at work next week, and still not dispatched.

I ordered to keep for myself. Had to order 2 as its the 2 for £10 offer. Received my New York during the week, not too fussed about getting Miami as I preferred New York series anyway. I am just grateful I got one of them.

Yeah, have to say I suspect, if not an outright mistake, it was a warehouse clearout to get rid of the existing stock. Are the DVDs of these even being made anymore? I suspect it's a case of whatever stock is out there already is all there will be. Much as DVD was a revelation back in the 90s and as such I still have a bit of a soft spot for the format that finally let us move on from eye bleedingly bad VHS, it barely has a place now, with all but the most useless internet connections able to stream at much higher quality.

As to this deal, I got one set of CSI NY delivered and if that is all I get then fair enough. I ordered 3 of NY and 3 of Miami but never really expected anything at the prices they were...

Yeah, just keep the orders on until they either get despatched or cancelled. But I wouldn't bank on them turning up.

Theres no point cancelling them as they don't charge you until they're shipped. Although it does look bleak now.

I don't know if there's anything they would be able to do, as it seems like a stock issue.

If and when they get more stock in, we'll get it. If not, we won't.

It doesn't seem like any orders are going to be cancelled because of the pricing glitch; if they're cancelled, it'll just be because there isn't the stock to supply them.

I had one order that was for a single set of each, and I have had NY despatched from that. It may be different for non-Prime customers though.

My despatch date has passed and still not in the postal system. At the moment for people who had bundled together items maybe aren't going to get them.

Post Office do a special online price for up to 5kg . 2nd class £6.29 no frills or 2nd class signed for £7.29 including £50 compensation. This is a strictly on line price with 3 day delivery, I used it to send something I sold on ebay.

If you're ever sending anything heavy (above, say, 2kg), you'll typically get significantly better prices from couriers than Royal Mail.

that is why the post office isn't a smart way to send anything bigger than a letter/large letter. Haven't you heard of MyHermes and the other budget couriers that can do it about a quarter the price of Royal Mail?

I think it might be based on the warehouse of where you are located whether they have stock. It is probably the reason why some have received part of their orders. I guess we will have to just hold tight till it gets closer to its expected delivery. :disappointed:

Haven't opened it but outer box says Subtitles English SDH so I presume it is all episodes.

Looking back at past sales (going back way before the Amazon deal), it looks like the CSI New York 1-9 DVD set sells for about £30 on average (including postage), so people looking to shift these quickly are probable being sensible going for a mid-20s price range.

I ordered Star Trek Original Series Bluray on 29th May.... Mine has said the same about dispatch and courier info a few days after ordering.. Still waiting for it to arrive.. If it gets dispatched that is...

My order is due between 17-27th July and current status as 'Not yet dispatched'. I'd have thought if they were going to cancel the orders, they would have started processing those as soon as they pulled the offer. I'm not convinced they'd sell many at the 'proper' price so I'm expecting it to get fulfilled as long as they or their supplier have the stock gathering dust. Just hope the shows are good - I've never watched them.

This year I watched CSI Las Vegas for the first time and really enjoyed it, went all the way up to Season 9 and decided to quit when a certain main character exited. It felt like a natural ending point.

DVD is a dying format and nobody's paying full price for these anymore, so the deal was probably legit to clear space, as you say. Sadly, I don't think the latecomers will get it, since once the space is cleared, it's unlikely they'll be ordering more unless the supplier also has a surplus that they need to shift.

Given a go though - it's a christmas present for somebody if it comes!

This is what I am hoping is the case, best possible scenario if you like and entirely possible. the only thing that gives me pause is how long this offer has been on for and they are apparently still in stock, could Amazon really have this much surplus stock to sell? Maybe someone in the buying department was a major CSI fan and went a bit crazy with the ordering :grin:

I think they'll honour it. How many people are genuinely buying £75 box sets of CSI on DVD? It's a good way for them to clear a substantial amount of space in the stock rooms and get some revenue.

Ordered CSI Miami and CSI New York yesterday and delivery estimate is 18-28th July so the waiting game has officially begun in my household :wink:

Doc Martin series 1-5 just came back in stock so ordered a couple of them as presents and says arriving Tuesday.

I got all of the box sets I ordered (from as little as £1.25) in the last amazon price error/offer.
So have placed an order and placed some heat.

He's never returned an order, it specifically says something about limited quantities on particular items. This is his only account, people make new accounts but he hasn't done that?

Would like to see some kind of proof, or at least another case to support this. While it's entirely possible the account was banned at the time he ordered this, I very much doubt simply placing the order was the reason, most likely there had been some other activity that Amazon wasn't too happy with such as excessive returns....

Brilliant, bought CSI for my Mum, and BFG on blu ray for me. I wanted to get CSI New York too but couldn't find another one. I didn't realise it would qualify for free delivery too as I'm not a prime member.
