Possible 100 Quidco or 90 TCB back if it tracks In a rush so forgive my maths if it's not spot on.. 29.99 a month for twelve months +34.99 connection minus 150 reward card and 100 quidco (if it tracks) = 12.07 a month
The maths works out to 34.99 for 12 months = 419.88 + 25 (activation fees) = 444.88 - 150 (BT Reward Card) - 100 (Quidco if it pays out) = 194.88/12 = 16.24 PM -matwalaboy

Also finally got my £150 reward card in the post this weekend. Had to chase customer support twice for it (once initially and then once after the 45 days), so as the person above already said, I'm pretty sure they hope people won't bother to follow it up to avoid them having to pay out.
My £90 TopCashback has also been paid (was confirmed as payable around the same time I chased up the reward card), so in all I got both the £150 reward card and £90 cash back, and my connection is a stable 50Mbps, so well worth it in the end!
Many thanks to the original poster of this deal, and anyone else in this thread who kept us updated on progress/who to chase to get the reward.

Took perseverance (lots of it, I would say) but finally all sorted - maths below :
29.99*12 + 34.99 (one time activation charge) = 394.87 150 (Reward Card) + 100 (Quidco) + 29.99 (late installation adjustment) + 20 (goodwill discount for the delay) + 1 year BT Sports Free (because of issue with Quidco payout) = 299.99
Total Paid = 394.87 - 299.99 = 94.88 for the year i.e. 7.9 a month - not even discounting the usual 5 quid or whatever a month BT sports is.
The last 3 are things that most likely apply only to me - but hey I am just sharing my experience here. All in all worked out damn well. As someone people here and other places have said once the 12 months finish you can pretty much signup straight back as a new customer, which is what I am going to do.
The CS was usually good - they always tried to help - and for the cashback and reward issues because of failed transfer initially from Sky to BT once I had a case officer assigned, she was pretty good too, chasing it all up for me. Surely can't fault them for the Broadband speed and what its costing me.

Well they hope that some people won't claim. Also that some that do won't spend it/all of it. If they were just playing fair they should have just reduced the cost by £12.50 per month.
TBH I don't care about the service and them making it hard. I'm just out for the best deals and if that involves a little pestering then so be it.

Talk about ruining the customer experience and alienating them ! There is no reason for the cards to take that long to come - its a sham. In the digital age it should be almost instant - once the cooling period is over the card should be digitally issued - end of !

Response Via Email. Another delay 10 -15 days :disappointed:
Dear ***** *********,
Thank you for your continued patience.
We have located your original claim and this has exceeded our agreed lead times. Unfortunately the claim has experienced delays due to internal issue within our claims process.
However I can confirm this issue has been rectified and I can see from our records your claim has been re-processed and scheduled for dispatch and delivery.
Your card should be delivered within the next 10-15 days. We aim for delivery well within that timeframe.
Again we apologise for the delay but we are working hard to resolve this for you as soon as possible
Well today is day 45 and still not received. :disappointed:
I'll send them a final (red) reminder on monday with notice of payment of 5 days otherwise a late payment charge will be added of £7.50.

I have no idea if they genuinely do, however whenever I have had a fault repair they have told me that they start the two week automated line testing process again. Previously I only had ADSL and after the fault repair it settled within a day or two and that was it.
Mark43
26 Jul 17#75
Why 2 weeks, would they really do another training period just following a line fault?
nige182
26 Jul 17#74
You reported the speed issue with the static on the line, so it was reported within 3 months. If it doesn't improve enough in 2 weeks you are still covered as the original report was within 3 months and the repair didn't work. Obviously it can't hurt to further report the speed now, but expect them to say you have to wait 2 weeks.
Mark43
26 Jul 17#73
I'd say you may as well complain now, you've nothing to loose and at least they won't be able to say you didn't report it in time.
Only problem is in the terms for the guaranteed speed it says it must be reported before 3 months of installation which was 18th May.
Cancellation of your service will be subject to the following conditions: - the fault must be reported within the first 90 days of your contract start date - speed faults will not be accepted within the first 10 days initial stabilisation period - all checks within your home must be completed as requested by our Helpdesk advisors - at least one engineer visit must be accepted if your line speed result from the BT Wholesale system speedtest* is - . below the Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed - BT is allowed up to 28 days to resolve the fault - you will be able to cease without penalty if BT is still unable to improve the speed measured by the BT Wholesale . speedtest above your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed. the Minimum Guaranteed Speed relates to line speed only, not to download speeds.
I think the engineer said the line has some water in it or something like that when he went up and checked the line on the pole. I mean it's been the same line since 1984 at least!
I'll see how it goes over the week.
nige182
26 Jul 17#70
It will likely take time to stabilise so they will not accept the speed being low right now, I think you have to allow two weeks for it to settle.
When one the phone to be just now the girl could only see the £34.99 offer.
Confused!

nige182
26 Jul 17#66
There should never be a charge for a faulty line unless the fault is in your home. BT are responsible right up to the master test socket (the main socket behind the main BT line faceplate). You are responsible for anything after this, including bizarrely the BT faceplate, at least that is what Openreach say.

Mark43
25 Jul 17#60
Why will they charge you £129? I know people like to moan about BT but I've never had an issue getting a genuine fault sorted.Obviously check its not your equipment, maybe plug a different phone into the master socket with no other kit and see if you still have interference, and then get them out to fix it.
Also if you're getting well below your minimum guaranteed speed then contact them, they should try to sort that. Thought if you have interference on the line I guess its fairly clear there is an issue.

Thanks for the post... im moving away from plusnet
I successfully went through Quidco, also got a tracking email almost immediately after.
What made me laugh was that they were only able to guarantee me "0mb" speed lol! I guess I will really have to test once its live and cancel if its not up to scratch.
Another thing - the earliest activation date I was given was 8th August! Granted this is for a new house I'm moving into, where it looks like the previous owner disconnected their landline and internet for some time now. Not even sure if they have an OpenReach modem somewhere... couldn't find it...
So yeah, actually considered this for a minute, line checker says 35-50Mbps (not bad) with a min guaranteed speed of 0Kbps... oO (it was 32Mbps when I last tried a few months ago for reference) So webchat... rep seeing same thing on their side, agrees not gonna get many signups if it shows that, and then says infinity/fttc isn't usually even offered on a postcode/line check if it can't provide at least 13Mbps or something... says call this number....
Me: Call number and explain above again, as I'd like to be a new customer but not risking signing up with no get out of jail free speed promise etc..... Call Centre: "You're not happy with the speed you're getting sir?" Me: I'm not even a customer yet as I just explained, I was told to phone this number to ask you to check my guaranteed min speed if I get a new line... Call centre: "What number are you calling about?" Me: I don't have a number yet... Call centre: "What is the first name on the account please?" Me: Are you listening... I don't have an account, I dont have a BT phone line, I'm considering... oh **** this *hangs up*
Shyeah.... not risking that.

Same here but i opted for quarterly cash and cheque! Much better seeing what you got before you pay! Any discrepancies and i will dispute it first. But cracking deal worked out about £18 a month i renewed about 6 months in to stop the price rise too!
I actually like the service. Speed can vary but tends to go down a lot after midnignt maybe maintanence or something. Love the bt wifi app lots of personal hotspots around to log onto.
Bt sport free for six months too but £5 a month much cheaper than sky and if i Want sky sports i use nowtv and just get a days pass to watch a match i want
P.s Thats true can i sign in my wifes name to get the card and cashback when contract runs out? Why should existing customers get shafted fir new customers only. Or does the name give it away?

Maybe I could transfer to sky saving the cancellation fee, then cancel sky within cooling off period and then sign up for BT as a new customer. It might sound like faff but I've just come to the end of 12M on BT fibre with bt tv and 2 x 2GB sims and all together it has worked out under £10 per month so if I can get similar again it's worth it.

A bit risky as you both have the same last name. Make sure you use a different bank card and email address but be prepared if it doesn't work. I'm thinking of doing it myself but we aren't married yet so we have different last names but it depends what they offer first. They will still charge you a fee to cancel it around £30 + even if you are out of contract (I know, crazy right), plus charge you £35 to reconnect it.
Ring them up first and see what kind of deal they can offer you first.

One was for myself. One was on my mums BT when she got it in & the third was in my Fiancees name. Even with the small cancellation fee (two months left) and a activation fee for the new place, it was a far better deal.

It's certainly possible to get Quidco and the card (although like others have said the Quidco can sometimes fail for whatever reason).
In example the last time this deal was on I got the £200 prepay card and £160 Quidco thus around £3.99 per month equivalent.
What you just endure is that you do not have any contact with BT through the order process. Any contact could lead to game over as far as any cash back is concerned. Order must be fully online.

I was on the verge of going with BT but ended up staying with Sky for around £24 pm...far too many horror stories with BT...poor service, declined cashback, messing up connection leaving you without internet etc. BT used to stand for something, now they're just a feckin' joke!

What did they offer you for that price? I am with sky too and weighing my options - coz right now I am paying 18.99 for a very slow Broadband and can do with some fiber fun

I have never had a problem with getting Cashback myself with BT. I got it three times over the last 3-4 years. I got £212 cashback last year (£70 extra with Quidco matching TCB). I was only meant to get the £100 reward card but when I activated it I got £150.

On some of the deals you are able to get both the reward card and the cash back.

i'M SPENDING MY £150 as we speak (non-fibre) ... isn't it that quidco and trashback disallow other "cashback" schemes so its either BT cashback or QC/CB ??

I use Top Cash Back instead of Quidco. Found them more reliable in tracking. I got a package from BT last year. They gave me a £150 pre-loaded cashcard and I received £106.05 cashback via Top Cash Back. I also paid my 12 month's line rental upfront and saved a bit more. Very happy with paying next to nothing net and I get a constant 52MB connection. dreading when my 12 month's are up and i have to move to an inferior provider. Hope this helps someone.

Yes I agree. Having had cash back previously declined albeit I was subsequently able to successfully appeal, the lesson I've leant is to consider Cash back as a bonus. If it pays out great and if not, well unlucky but never let the prospect of the cash back determine which item to buy over another.

V good deal . Heat added. But the worst customer service. Dreadful company to communicate with.

I had three reject £150 through quidco . Quidco refused to respond with anything other than generic tracking rubbish.. Ive never had a large amount untracked using topcashback but no doubt there will be some horror stories there...

When I placed my order my cashback didnt track and even after filing a claim with Quidco, BT still declined the cashback & im still arguing with them about it...so defintely see it as something you may or may not get

I've had BT cashback paid out before but buy it on the presumption that it won't get paid. Just in case.

And then BT do what they always do, price hike midway through. Good deal though, but I've had a skethcy connection with BT (non fibre)
Opening post
In a rush so forgive my maths if it's not spot on..
29.99 a month for twelve months +34.99 connection minus 150 reward card and 100 quidco (if it tracks) = 12.07 a month
The maths works out to 34.99 for 12 months = 419.88 + 25 (activation fees) = 444.88 - 150 (BT Reward Card) - 100 (Quidco if it pays out) = 194.88/12 = 16.24 PM
-matwalaboy
Quidco cashback increased to £110

My £90 TopCashback has also been paid (was confirmed as payable around the same time I chased up the reward card), so in all I got both the £150 reward card and £90 cash back, and my connection is a stable 50Mbps, so well worth it in the end!
Many thanks to the original poster of this deal, and anyone else in this thread who kept us updated on progress/who to chase to get the reward.
Mine tracked only and estimated payment on 23 November 2017 (Premium membership)
29.99*12 + 34.99 (one time activation charge) = 394.87
150 (Reward Card) + 100 (Quidco) + 29.99 (late installation adjustment) + 20 (goodwill discount for the delay) + 1 year BT Sports Free (because of issue with Quidco payout) = 299.99
If they were just playing fair they should have just reduced the cost by £12.50 per month.
TBH I don't care about the service and them making it hard. I'm just out for the best deals and if that involves a little pestering then so be it.
Im guessing they don't bother until you chase it up. I'm guessing some people don't chase it.

My account says - No rewards available at the moment.
Anyone else face similar situation?
Seems great so far 55Mbps D/L (~ 20 faster than Sky Fibre + much better WIFI range
The speed is around 27mb now checking last night with speed test (not BT speed test) this was with a phone over wifi.
The engineer said the box or line whatever needs to be replaced up on the pylon because it's old he said BT need to replace it.
This is what I should be getting according to DSL Checker.
Might give it a week see how it works, last night the router kept disconnecting eventually connected.
'Sorry, if your package isn't shown, it may not be available to you – please choose an alternative package below.
If you've chosen a BT Infinity package but it isn't shown here, BT Infinity is not available to you'
I'm already on fibre so does this mean the cabinet is full?
Cancellation of your service will be subject to the following conditions:
- the fault must be reported within the first 90 days of your contract start date
- speed faults will not be accepted within the first 10 days initial stabilisation period
- all checks within your home must be completed as requested by our Helpdesk advisors
- at least one engineer visit must be accepted if your line speed result from the BT Wholesale system speedtest* is - . below the Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed
- BT is allowed up to 28 days to resolve the fault
- you will be able to cease without penalty if BT is still unable to improve the speed measured by the BT Wholesale . speedtest above your Minimum Guaranteed Access Line Speed.
the Minimum Guaranteed Speed relates to line speed only, not to download speeds.
I think the engineer said the line has some water in it or something like that when he went up and checked the line on the pole. I mean it's been the same line since 1984 at least!
I'll see how it goes over the week.
The first shows £34.99 and the second £29.99.
When one the phone to be just now the girl could only see the £34.99 offer.
Confused!
that's better than 15mb we had before but still under the 32mb* guaranteed
Question is should i say anything? if 26mb is the best i can get and leave BT any other provider expect Virgin will have the same speeds right?
When first installed or activated we had a clear line and 25mbs but then went down for a day and it was fixed now crackling line and 15mbs speeds.
Fingers crossed all goes to plan...
Edit : Quidco just tracked within 15 minutes of placing the order (£100.00)
Also if you're getting well below your minimum guaranteed speed then contact them, they should try to sort that. Thought if you have interference on the line I guess its fairly clear there is an issue.
Installation date set for 4th September.
Earliest date available was 18th August although someone needs to be home & I have the week off work for 4th Sep.
So fed up with standard Sky broadband. The speed is appalling.
Having said that, pretty happy with sky so might just give them a call first and say I'm leaving and see what they offer...
I'm also getting interference on the phone line now! Which i'm guessing they will try and fix and charge £129!
On another note just checked my TCB account BT has tracked as £140! not £80! oO
55 days ago
Your purchase on 20 Mar 17 for £1.00 and for £160.00 cashback at BT Broadband has been confirmed.
If so, is it still possible to get the vouchers and cashback?
What made me laugh was that they were only able to guarantee me "0mb" speed lol! I guess I will really have to test once its live and cancel if its not up to scratch.
Another thing - the earliest activation date I was given was 8th August! Granted this is for a new house I'm moving into, where it looks like the previous owner disconnected their landline and internet for some time now. Not even sure if they have an OpenReach modem somewhere... couldn't find it...
53Mb-71Mb
Estimated download speed* range
47Mb
Minimum speed guarantee*
So webchat... rep seeing same thing on their side, agrees not gonna get many signups if it shows that, and then says infinity/fttc isn't usually even offered on a postcode/line check if it can't provide at least 13Mbps or something... says call this number....
Me: Call number and explain above again, as I'd like to be a new customer but not risking signing up with no get out of jail free speed promise etc.....
Call Centre: "You're not happy with the speed you're getting sir?"
Me: I'm not even a customer yet as I just explained, I was told to phone this number to ask you to check my guaranteed min speed if I get a new line...
Call centre: "What number are you calling about?"
Me: I don't have a number yet...
Call centre: "What is the first name on the account please?"
Me: Are you listening... I don't have an account, I dont have a BT phone line, I'm considering... oh **** this *hangs up*
Shyeah.... not risking that.
They've messed mine up, getting 73mb on my infinity 1 package.
Quite happy with sky fibre u/l but just jumped from £29.59 p/m to 46.99 p/m
Cheers
I actually like the service. Speed can vary but tends to go down a lot after midnignt maybe maintanence or something. Love the bt wifi app lots of personal hotspots around to log onto.
Bt sport free for six months too but £5 a month much cheaper than sky and if i Want sky sports i use nowtv and just get a days pass to watch a match i want
P.s Thats true can i sign in my wifes name to get the card and cashback when contract runs out? Why should existing customers get shafted fir new customers only. Or does the name give it away?
Ring them up first and see what kind of deal they can offer you first.
One was for myself. One was on my mums BT when she got it in & the third was in my Fiancees name. We where moving house and it just worked out a lot better if I cancelled my contract and she ordered one in her name for the new place. Even with the small cancellation fee (two months left) and a activation fee for the new place, it was a far better deal.
In example the last time this deal was on I got the £200 prepay card and £160 Quidco thus around £3.99 per month equivalent.
What you just endure is that you do not have any contact with BT through the order process. Any contact could lead to game over as far as any cash back is concerned. Order must be fully online.
Shame the service is [email protected] lol not wonder they offer some much for you to sign up haha
