Just in case your wondering why are all electric shavers supplied with a 2pin plug?
Due to EU regulations all manufacturers must ensure that electric shavers are only supplied with a shaver cord which has a 2pin plug. This is a safety feature. It has been implemented to ensure that we do not plug our shavers directly into the 240V UK mains socket while shaving- causing possible risk of electrocution when water is involved.

Hardly a great feature when a 50p adapter circumvents it? Besides, a kettle is by definition associated with water and that has a standard plug? :smile:

I grabbed a 3010BT on prime day and kinda wish I hadn't. Its useless in the wet and just leaves my chin covered in hair. In the dry its a bit better. It seems yucky to return such an item but I really dont get on with it. Maybe it's faulty. Maybe it's my beard. Who knows.

I had mine for years now... I always have to finish off with a razor blade anyway as this won't give you 100% clean shave. So as long as you understand that then you should be fine :wink:

I think most foil shavers need a finish with a razor (or a shrug of the shoulders & saying "good enough" before heading to work).

I've had several Phillips aquatouch and it's the same story. Nothing beats a razor!

This is my first foil shaver and I really wasnt expecting it to be this crap. Sure I've got the model beneath this but I've got to give it a day or so then dry shave to see if it still misses stuff on my neck.

Today I couldn't stay half shaven so had to grab the DE razor and finish off but it's really not ideal.

I might just go full beard and say stuff it.

I can't comment on this model but Braun series 7 is as good as wet razor shave.
I recommend Panasonic RF31 which should be around £50.
It was my first electric switching from Gillette Proglide and it shaved as close.
Bear in mind It takes 1 week to 10 days for the skin to adjust to new shaving method,

I have very thick hair and I cannot return to a manual razors - they shred my skin. I have used 2 aqua touch Philips Shavers since changing from manual razors- the current one is the Philips 941 with 3 concentric cutting rings (no longer being produced) - I wouldn't go without it. Its perfect for me, but everyone is different.

Thanks Tequila - it's always nice to be told that I'm wrong :stuck_out_tongue: Obviously this was based on my experience and I'm a ginger fair-haired middle-aged man who's waiting for his hair to turn grey (but the $%%£&$ stuff stays ginger).

What I was trying to say was that my foil shavers never go as close as a clean, sharp razor. It's fine for work but if I'm going to a wedding (especially my own), the better half always requests I spend the time using Gillette Mach 85 (or whatever number they're on now).

What I don't know (and I've always been suspicious of) is whether spending £200 on a foil shaver is that much better than the £50-70 I have spent on Phillips in the past. It's such a personal experience that going on Amazon reviews isn't really going to cut it (!)

The sweet spot price for foil shavers is between £70-£100.
Anything more is overspending imo.
The best models like Braun Series 7,Panasonic LV65 can be bought for around £100 usually they are on sale for this price range.
The Panasonic RF31 is also excellent which is between £50-£70.
a good specialist seller for shavers is shavers.co.uk they often have sales and better prices than amazon.
They recently gad the Panasonic LV65 for £80 which was a steam,the LV65 was exactly like LV95 the flagship top of the range model without the cleaning/charging dock thing.
Panasonic foil shavers are very good.on par and most if the time better than Braun.
