One of my favourites. Could do with being a bit stronger, but at this price simply consume twice as much

Nuts - probably cheaper than Brazil?

Cheaper than in Brazil yes but not the same unfortunately, this is brewed in the UK. Decent price though for a drinkable lager, heat added

Didn't this used to be around the 5% abv mark...? (now just 4.3%)
Begize to Taksim_Red

Yes and no. This international version has always been 4.3% afaik, but there is a "proper" Brazilian version which is 5%

tax reasons
Breweries pay tax on the alcohol produced.
Lots of Strong Lagers have had a few % drops knocked off
Stella droped from 5% to 4.8% & saves about £9m a year in Duty!

This stuff was lovely when it was imported originally. Now it's brewed in the UK it's like a posh bottle of carling, not great tasting but decent price.

Can only echo the comments above, not the best tasting or strongest beer in the world. Not sure I'd bother, even for £6 tbh. The original Brazilian import beer it's based on it's stronger and much, much, much nicer.

Brazilian here, not really recommend this stuff. My mates back home would laugh if I told that the british are actually buying brahma here. There is a variant called "chopp" which is rather nice, but usually only available on the tap and I haven't seen any pubs crazy enough to stock it.

Standard lager, nothing very different from Fosters or Budweiser imo. And it's quite different from Brahma produced in Brazil.

Brazilian here as well. Agree. You can find craft (chopp) on that chain "Las Iguanas". Way better than bottled. Still, for the price, I'm up for that!

Picked some up on Saturday, at £6 it was worth a try. Just drinking a bottle now.
Like others have said, its ok for price but nothing special. If you not tried it before then worth a go, personally I won't be buying anymore.

3 Jul 17#27
It used to be brewed away from the UK and used to be in a funky bottle.. Thats when it used to be pretty drinkable.. Now its a bit weaker and not really got the same twang to it
IMO of course.

Went into Tewkesbury Morrisons & there was none, but a very helpful lady checked & there was a crateful that should now be on display, minus a few. I loved the original Brahma brewed in Brazil, the same for the Mexican beers & the UK brewed are poor seconds. I always liked Asahi on draft in Japanese restaurants, but not keen on the canned ones I tried, however one of our Japanese friends brought three different Asahi over from Japan with her. We had one the other night & it was heaven. It was called 'Asahi Dry Premium' in a BLUE & GOLD can.

I was just there the other day! (Not MI5 obviously). Presuming your post was highlighting they sell Brazilian food and drink. There's also the long established and popular Lisboa in North Kensington (not that far from Grenfell Tower), which is a Portugese cafe and shop selling the best custard tarts and various other Portugese and Brazilian treats.

4x 660ml bottles - is the equivelent of 8 bottles of this offer, but its nicer brew & also 5% (guess you could always water it down to 4.3% :stuck_out_tongue: or add lemonade like they do in down south .
Also have Estrella, Stella, Kronenberg, etc. in the offer in 660ml bottles, along with the usual 500ml bottled ale.

All these foreign beers when brewed in the UK become tasteless versions of the originals and usually more expensive, take Stella and San Miguel as examples 75p to £1,50 in Spain depending where you drink, and bottled or draught, much better drinking than that muck they call San Miguel in the UK.

I used to drink this about ten years ago and now normally drink stout/porter type beer these days like youngs double chocolate and Fullers london porter. But at this price I couldn't resist and loaded up my car with 10 cases. I am drinking a bottle now with a wedge of lime. It's ok nothing special and will do for the summer months.
