Plenty of 30.9mm dropper posts out there , also comparing a £2000rrp GT bike to the Bossnut is a bit odd although with the sale price it's a decent spec bike and you would clearly get it over the Bossnut.

I don't usually comment but the gt is not as good as the bossnut in fact I would say the gt is a budget bike and the bossnut is a mid level.

Had the V1 for over a year, Got it through cyclescheme and paid £650......What a bike for the money! I've abused the **** out of this on trails and jumps with only having to tighten the pivot bolts in over a year.

Go outdoors pumped millions into they're bicycle development and its paid off, Ive ridden many full suss MTB's and this ticks every box for under a grand, Only downside is lack of ability to install a dropper post but I've managed to live with that.

I've not even changed the tyres this MTB's tha good!

mid level no chance, a mid level hardtail is circa £900-1200.
i'd say a mid level full suspension is nearer the £1800-2200 range now.

I'd be lucky to buy the frame for my next bike on that price range.
top of range have started hitting the £7000 price point, can even pay £10k for one bike, i forget the name.

Bossnut gets rave reviews all over the place.
Thinking the same about the road bikes, the rivelin 2 with full tiagra and decent wheels (apparently)for under £500 looks better value than anything else I can find ,but as I don't know much about road bikes I need reviews and there's hardly anything out there!

A little bit off topic but are the calibre road bikes any good? I was looking at one a month or so back during their sale but could find next to no reviews of it beyond gooutdoors own website. It was nearly as if the cycling magazines had decided we'll review their mtb range but refused to even acknowledge the existence of their road bikes.

Rather have this older but new and way better spec

Bossnut over the GT helion anyday. Better suspension with more travel. The rockshox sektor is miles better than the Raidon fork (20mm more travel) and the monarch rear shock is better too. Both bikes are made for trails XC not enduro/downhill. Great value for the money.

I picked one of these up on military day a couple of weeks ago for £850. Great bike, I'm no pro, not even good, but this bike makes tough drops so easy.

Great bike to get on the "Cycle Scheme if the company you work for has it set up. Main reason being the limit for the voucher is often £1000 max. You'll end up paying about 600 quid as a lower rate tax payer or 500 as a higher rate payer.

Personally I think there are better bike deals to be had, also if you wait 2 months you will see a mass of end of season 50% off sales. The brakes are poor, the gear set is basic, and the rear shock is fairly weak. Front is ok for the money, but not something I would want on a 'full susser'

You would be better off getting a good hard tail for a grand than a poor Full Susser.

I bought my nipper an entry level specialized (notoriously overpriced) with a massive discount for £300ish and most of the components (not front fork) would equal that on this bike.

Great spec for the money , previous model was pretty much bike of the year everywhere. You could get the previous model for £100 cheaper than this not sure it's still available though.

Also the beastnut looks pretty decent aswell hopefully they stock more.
