Just to be clear - this does include the battery.
A lot of these type of units can be "bare".

hardly "the best cordless garden strimmer" but a good deal none the less

Go on then recommend a £5000 strimmer that is better for the average Joe Bloggs

Nice find OP, thanks. I have a Bosch Li-Ion one at the moment but I didnt realise how useless and expensive those platic blades would be over time - I used to have a line feed corded strimmer years ago and I look forward to getting back to one.

I had one. It used a blade every time I used it. Returned as not fit for purpise in the end.

I have the 18V version of this and it's great. I can assume this is even better.
Though 3750 linear meters of cutting seems way over the top optimistic. I go through 3Ah (2 x1.5 or 2 and a 1.5) of batteries doing my front and rear garden. That's at 18V and I don't live in a mansion. Maybe 80-90m or edges to deal with.

I paid a lot more and am very happy with it. Use it on some pretty tough patches of the allotment without it struggling.

I have one of these for two years now and never let me down, I use it on allotment paths and a large area for vehicles to park near my plot. I am still on original spool and battery and I really only use this on eco mode and I reckon last me around 30 mins of power maybe slightly more, would last less if the grass was very long or not on eco mode in settings. I paid around £130 for this so i think original price is over priced but this price is cheap.

I've got one too. Paid much more than this and it was a good deal at the time. Definitely recommended but dont let weeds get wrapped around the spindle or it melts the plastic housing. Spare parts are available, fortunately.

This looks good and is the line feed model so will be great - its a shame I paid half the price for an 18v macallister one advertised 2 days ago. I'm not willing to change it as I only bought it for the replacement battery which is cheaper buying the strimmer than buy the battery individually - Crazy!

how long will the battery last for?

26 Jul 17#24
depending on how much you use it.. but I give mine a charge after every 4th use or so (that's the whole garden, borders only, 4-5 times).

I have one of these. It will last about 30 mins, then only takes about that to recharge.

Ordered thank you. Fact thing is that I went to order a couple of spare reels, and 2 were dearer than 1, as well at not being eligible for Prime?? Ordered 1 on Prime twice in the end

paid 120 quid for mine just over 2 years ago and still working well. reel needs replacing once a year with average use (once a week, medium sized garden). bargain at this price.

I picked a mac up from screwfix yesterday for 35 quid, 18v 2ah battery, 2 year warranty... Different spec but will worth 35!!!
Excellent price but doesn't look as heavy duty as this

"Fade-free Lithium battery for cordless freedom" so one second it works,, a milli-second later it stops.. I would actually prefer fade as at least you know its going
I have this. It is really meant for larger gardens, as reflected in the cutting swathe of 30cm. This makes it heavier than other strimmers that I have used. It is very powerful and well worth the current deal price if you have a big garden and are reasonably strong.

26 Jul 17#37
I have one of these and it's been brilliant the past 4 summers, as powerful as a corded one and I can do the edges of my fairly large garden twice on a single charge, think I paid £160 so this is a real bargain

Yuk NiCD batteries. I'd go for the £35 screwfix one instead, at least that is Li-ion.

With Li-ion batteries it's best to top them up every time if you want it to last longer.

Why do hotukdeals email me a day after these deals appear and which have already expired. Completely pointless.
