I find tower fans just can't cut it compared to a pedestal fan.
I bought one and my son has it in his room on the hot nights and handy it has a timer for auto shut off etc but just not much blow to it.
Admittedly not this one but I think it's just the structure of them can't compete with a traditional fan

I find the complete opposite, they are much quieter than axial fans at the same level of performance.
I must admit though, none that I have had lasted as long as two Honeywell axial fans I first bought well over a decade ago which are still going strong!
