Good spot! I found an article that says Amazon was worth about $430 billion. So to get it included with a £749.99 laptop seems good to me

The GL553 posted in comments is back down to £799.99, good deal?
What's the 1050 like for playing modern games?

GL553 is entry level gaming laptop, you can't play modern games in high settings. But for £799 is the best laptop.
If you want to play modern games in high settings you should be looking at laptop with GPU 1060>

Yeah thanks it looks the best for the money but now it's £900 I'll wait a bit longer. I really want the ips screen over the tn one, just seems hard finding one at the under £800 mark

Looks good but the price of that one is £900 now plus the Amazon reviews are very mixed, some say the screen bleeds terribly?
Where does it say the Asus has a ips display? I will buy one myself if this is 100% true

Explain why would you rather enjoying this over Asus? Asus comes with IPS display, have 24 months warranty, when Dell has 12 months and poor TN display?

Im selling a far better model on ebay for cheaper, only been used a little over last 9 months. I7 16gb ram 128gb ssd 1 tb hd and 17.3 inch screen GL752VW
4gb gtx 1050 and fancy sounding screen but no ssd, no idea on overall quality..
regardless, from my frantic jumping back and for ( i have all laptops in all the baskets at the moe) i'm thinking that this is probably the best deal? i mean thought asus is a good quality brand? only concern is the one review saying it has a tn display? with the HP's having the fancy sounding screen the 202 from hp just pips this? but this one has the extra 2gb which from reading the comments on the 203 (john lewis) one is a massive factor on how well the thing copes with games?

I think the SSD on this one for the OS should make it a slightly better buy though you're right there are too many deals on these budget gaming laptops at the moment! I really don't need one but want one to play all these retro games I've bought in steam sales when on the go
I'm no expert though I'm as confused as you!

so many laptop deals so little time (and knowledge!)
would this be better than the 203 omem at JL and 202 omen from hp?
whilst it has the 4gb 1050 im assuming the build quality/ screen is really poor because of the bag and mouse being chucked in to sweeten the deal?

Because I would want to play games on it.
I know this video is for the desktop 1050 and 1050Ti but they're practically the same as their laptop counterparts this generation.
The newer Dells now ship with an IPS display having replaced TN panel you mentioned... according to my research:

I have not spoken to anyone to confirm this though.
Asus ZX553 in the meantime has TN display. It is not real ROG laptop, it just amazon with misleading title.
You can find all ASUS ROG laptops series here https://www.asus.com/uk/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/Laptops-Products/
I've used both laptops ask me if you have any questions. I have explained everything here
