Yeah definitely looks nicer I never had to use customers service for a gpu hopefully that continues. Im not sure if there is actually much of a difference between the non oc and this as you could just use afterburner to overclock the non oc version. Maybe the oc version clocks higher I'm not really sure

Mine just dispatched happy days. people saying on the evga thread saying I should return it and get the evga deal for less but I'm happy to pay the extra for this as I think the extra features like fan controls and the fact the Asus is cooler and quiter is worth the extra money in my opinion

Hi will this card fit and play okay on an asus g20?

I cancelled the FTW3 and ordered this.

If anything I just hope it drives down the price of the 1080 and ti even further , about time AMD put up a bit of competition

I have the aorus 1080ti and it's an excellent card not had any issues yet. Would of got the strix if it was this price though just for the better oc but the aorus has more connections with a dedicated hdmi for vr and plants for dual monitor at the same time.

Early benches show it's 8GB for the Vega 64 card, sits between 1080GTX and Ti in synthetic benches, but with it being HBM2 and due to the die size, it won't be cheap.

I'd be surprised if you see stock much prior to late August or perhaps September for £500.

Appreciate the response , guess it's just a lottery with the IPS panels , not willing to fork out for the Asus IPS one but was actually looking at the Dell S27 which is TN but for around the same price I can get the Predator with IPS so decisions decisions, still gonna hold out for VEGA and see what they offer

I'm tempted to give this one a punt, bought the Aorus 1080Ti Extreme edition but ended up returning it due to high noise and temps above 90C. Had my refund and this one is slightly cheaper.

I was very worried about the issues with the panels of the Asus Swift and the Acer Pred IPS screens as I have read the reviews on amazon and some are very poor quality with discoloration/backlight bleed etc.

I went with the Acer as it seems to have better overall reviews, buying from Amazon I could have sent it back if I got a poor quality panel etc. My screen came and it is almost perfect, no discolouration, no backlight/IPS glow visible. It shows up my other Dell 1440p IPS in all respects! So it gets my full recommendation, but make sure you buy from Amazon so you can easily return if needed.

In terms of the GPU, I have a 980Ti which is (5% or so) less powerful than the 1070. This gets me 80-100FPS in Prey at 1440p full settings, 120ish FPS in PUBG, 80 or so in cities. The G sync is a godsend and although pricey, gets the job done when frames are going up and down frequently. If you want to have over 100FPS on newer games I would recommend getting the 1080Ti; but the 1070 will still do a good job of keeping above 60-80.

Also a side note: Although this monitor is 165Hz on OC, some games don't seem to recognise above 144hz, so even though it is enabled you will only acheive 144hz. You can google this issue but the difference between 144 and 165 is minimal regardless.

That's something similar to what I want , how is the Acer , any issues with IPS glow/ Backlight bleed?

Was initially going to get a 1070 but I think it's a little underpowered for 100hz + 1440p , 1080 seems to be around 100 FPS in most new games @ 1440 so can imagine 1080ti destroys it and lets you take full advantage of that 165hz

My Dell 23" 1080p is getting on 7 year old now and definitely due an upgrade

Just need to find myself a nice 27" 1440p 140hz+ monitor but gonna wait for AMD Vega incase I end up going down freesync route

This card does very well at that resolution, that's the reason I've bought for use with a 1440p, 165hz Acer Pred IPS. Enjoy when you take the plunge!

Can see more and more price drops coming as AMD Vega will release end of this month , finally some competition to drive down prices

Personally I'm going to hold out until then as I can see these, 1080's and 1070's dropping down even more and I'm looking to upgrade my gtx 780 going from 1080p to 1440

Well looks like I'm getting my first build...

I have been waiting for this to drop slightly to go into my new rig.

O11G means it's the OC model too, should easily hit over 2000Mhz.
