Glad to hear it. I was just going by the warning on the Amazon product page. Mine arrived yesterday and looking forward to watching it soon!

Just a heads up... the disc is apparently "Region A", which means that it might not play in UK Blu-Ray players.

Mine turned up yesterday. Disc and case are labelled Region A, B, C. I'm not sure there is a Region A only release from Arrow.
Edit: Watched it on Region B only player last night without any problems.

I agree with you, that's why I said 'supposed to be'. I've seen them all, so I know you have a point, however, I wanted to make aware other people that might be interested in seeing the other films too. Especially if they like Ashes and Diamonds.

Never heard of it but according to IMDb it's a favourite of Scorcese and Coppola so at this price I'll take a punt!

It's great to see a classic voted hot here. Just to make a note though, this is supposed to be the final film of the war trilogy. The two films by Wajda that precede it are A Generation (Pokolenie) - 1955, and Kanal - 1957, the latter which was just as good as the final Ashes and Diamonds (Popiol i diament) - 1958, in my opinion.

It should be made clear it is a trilogy of themes, feeling etc. It isn't a character trilogy where you need to see all three to understand what is going on.
Ashes and Diamonds could be the only Wajda film you ever see and you would get the full effect from it but there are so many other great Wajda films it'd be madness to restrict yourself to this alone.
