Argh I'm having nightmares with them over cancelling - first they charged me two bills and told me they'd sort it out now they've billed me £200 early termination fee oO
i will never use o2 in future, they've caused me so much hassle and don't now how to sort it out. I cancelled within 14days

Nightmare trying to cancel the contract. It took four goes over three consecutive days. I had to top up a PAYG sim with £10 in order to cancel the contract. And they've taken £11 from my account for the first month

Also seems unlocked, as works with Vodaphone (and Giffgaff) sims.

Having done 7 in total (3 on this deal) I would do the following Phone arrives and your happy with it Insert the sim (comes with it) Turn off data Make a few calls to 202 (don't speak to anyone, just play around with the various menu options) Fill in and submit the online unlocking form Unlock here Go on live chat and ask them also to unlock it (as a back up) Wait approximately 24hrs for the unlocking successful email (24hrs - could take longer, could be less time) Phone O2 speak to customer services (not cancellations or any other dept) Tell them you want to pay off the device and then cancel the contract under 14 day cooling off period I personally wouldn't bother with the move to payg malarkey (no need, if you speak to right person) Any arguments, just say you want to speak to someone else or put the phone down and try again Your aim here is for them to disconnect the line Keep checking over the next 24hrs your phone should say no service hth
If anyone wants to tweak the above please feel free

My 64GB is being delivered tomorrow as per the courier.
What's the exact method when it arrives? I'm assuming
- Call them up and request to unlock it - Once that's done, request to pay the device off in full - After that, request to cancel airtime and ensure direct debits are cancelled
What number(s) do I call? I have 14 days to do all this right?

I'm jumping onto this deal to comment on this quote as I have just had a grade C on the apple iphone 7 deal the iphone itself was bought on the 2 June 2017 (apple confiemd this to me), and was reported with a serious fault to apple on the 22.June.2017 (again Apple confiemd this to me) however this repair was never carried out, it looks like it was just returned to 02
Unfortunatly for me I ended up with this iphone which was in excellent condition with not a mark/scratch anywhere to be seen, however the front facing camera does not work and strickly speaking 02 should not have sold the phone
I am supposed and I stree supposed to be getting a replacement tomorrow morning but as yet I have not had any email or sms to confirm delivery, 02 shocking customer service strikes again

On the O2 website, it says : "Save £48. Ends 26 July."
Anyone know if that means the price of the phone will increase by £48 when/if they come back in stock. Or is that related to the contract cost ?
Thinking of getting another. But not sure if to hold out for when the 16Gb's come back into stock, or go for a 64Gb, but that is double the cost

This is nonsense. A lot of grade B and C (almost perfect/perfectly fine) will come with no Apple warranty at all. The difference is, grade A have been returned within the 14 day cooling off period, grade C have been returned as faulty and repaired. Grade B are returned for a mixture of those reasons. Most grade A will have warranty, grade B and C will sometimes but far from guaranteed. The O2 guarantee is worthless in my experience.

I agree with you, it's not really useful other than as a general pointer as to how healthy your credit history is ... in the opinion of the agency in question.
But I wasn't arguing as to the usefulness of credit scores, just to the fact that they do exist!

16GB in today's world is way below normal. Even if you use WhatsApp or Facebook and a few decent apps they take up loads of space of the 16GB. And in a couple of months time, you wont have any space left. 16GB is far too restrictive for anyone. No wonder, Apple is moving away from these except for those who cant afford any of the above storage models.
JamesSmith to abhijitdash123

This is just some total nonsense .. I have the older 16GB iphone 5S with tons of music making apps, media players, news and social media apps, books, podcasts, music... I sync the photos off the phone... that's all I'm interested in and I still have 3 gigabytes free...
All the 3 agencies give you free access to their free credit score.
However as stated on here, there is no credit score in reality. It's their opinion on you, taking into account the financial data they hold.
Every time you make a credit application (hard search) the creditor will use the info from reference agencies and create their own score. They do not use any other credit score.
Has this expired? It says out of stock unless I'm doing something wrong.

First learn it's not RAM it's internal storage,RAM is something else.
Secondly it's perfectly fine for many users,I have a 7 Plus 128 GB but also an SE 16 GB as spare/work phone and inside the 16GB SE I have every App I need (70 Apps to be exact including 3 games),160 photoes and 6 videos at the monent in the phone and still around 500MB free space left.
So clearly you are wrong. For an average user it's more than enough.
PS I bought it via lase refresh deal for £140ush and it came in mint condition like new.just without box snd accesories and was charged only 10 times before.very happy.

Clearly not rubbish at all, as evidenced by the fact you admitted yourself you keep getting low storage messages and having to spend time cleaning things off. Enjoy your "not enough storage" error when you try to download and apply the iOS 11 update in a couple of months.
I had a 16GB 5S. It was, as I said, extremely tight with more than a couple of apps on it. Was it useless, no, but then that's your strawman that I never actually said. But tight, heck yes. Again, if you don't do huge amounts with it (i.e. a bit like a compromise between smartphone and dumbphone) it's fine.

This is 16GB model, never TRUST anyone telling you 16GB is enough or not enough. Do the GB sizing yourself (with friends) and determine whether you need 16GB, 32GB, 64GB or 128GB. This is because they know nothing about how you use your iPhone and what usage behaviour that you have.

I can confirm this stance.. I got a SE fro £102 but they are adamant I need to give them the 30 days notice as I am keeping the phone. They say the 14 day cooling off period applies if you return the phone AND cancel airtime. So as it stands currently I have £15 months airtime plus a couple of days of usage to pay so hopefully under £120 for a perfectly fine SE with Apple warranty until March 2018. I am wondering if the stress is worth me trying to the PAYG thing and save a couple of quid but I can assure you they wouldn't budge on letting me cancel the airtime with immediate effect! Argh!
debdrfc
18 Jul 17#65
I don't think it will clear but I went through quidco to o2 to see if I would get anything from them. Just had an email to say it's tracked me at £35.00 99.9% sure it won't give it me but figured worth a try.

Eh? There's no such thing as a universal credit score, you might say. But experian, equifax etc all generate a credit score based on your historical personal data. So to say there is no such thing as a credit score is just plain incorrect!
But no one other than you and the credit agency see this meaningless number. Its sole purpose is to sell add-ons like 'credit watch' which is all b******s to mugs who panic when this random number drops 30 points one month. Banks, building societies, telecoms etc they don't see this number, and even if they did they'd ignore it as they all have their own criteria to judge you by.

I can see on the other thread that the way a lot of people are getting round the 30 day cancellation Bull is just by transferring the number to a free payg. I just insisted that it was cancelled immediately. 18 Jul 17#46
If you are doing this refresh, it is likely you will get different information when you call the call centre, depending on who you talk to, they don't seem to be trained consistently.
If they insist on a 30 day notice payment, just say no and ask for a manager call back. The managers will just do what you want, I think it's less hassle for them. Then make sure the direct debit is cancelled.
We did three in the office here, and each of us got three different stories from the call centre !
We went into an O2 shop a few weeks ago to by a 4G MiFi thing and the staff in the shop actually told us to buy it this way to save money!

You call o2 ask them to unlock the phone ( this is free while on contract £10 if not) then once unlocked usually within an hour or two, you call back and ask to pay of the remainder of the phone cost that's the 24X£4 = £96 So you pay the £96 then ask to cancel the contract part of the sim. They won't cancel the contract part until. The phone is paid off

Not ROM
iPhone SE has 2GB RAM, same as a 6S. This is the memory that it uses to run the active app and OS software. This area gets cleaned out and starts afresh everytime you switch the phone on.
It has 16GB storage memory (sort of similar to the hard disk in a computer, or an SSD), of which a fair chunk is taken by the system leaving about 12GB usable, actually more than enough for me as I've barely used 8GB ever. This is where you store all your apps, music and photos plus much more and holds stuff even when the phone is off.
Don't worry about ROM, not really significant for users.
16GB storage is going to be plenty enough for many people, I really miss the old days of HUKD when everybody used to vote for the deal rather than their own personal preference or requirements. I don't know when that got lost along the way, but it's a shame.
abhijitdash123

Well, if i have to have a smartphone, i would rather have something that does loads of smart things, not just sits at my desk for doing the bare minimum.
I thought 16GB would be fine for me, but was so wrong. It always has low storage and Facebook and WhatsApp are major space hoggers. Also, i always like to have my photos on my phone so when i am on holiday i can look back on my pictures without worrying about roaming, data charges, speed or connection strength.
And for games, even if i were to play a single gpu intensive game while on the tube or travelling, it needs like a gig atleast of storage which becomes a huge challenge with 16GB.

It gets a bit more than surreal when cancelling and chasing up correct charges!

Brilliant price! 16GB is low but provided you don't have 100s of Apps and regularly back up your photos it will be fine. I bought the newer 32GB version earlier this year but more than double the price. This is an absolute bargain. Have some heat

Absolute bargain. Currently using one and it's fantastic. Great deal OP. Would be hotter if some people understood how the site works. Just because YOU need more than 16gb doesn't mean everyone does, this is the cheapest deal for this phone.

Rubbish. I have a 16GB iPhone 6 (company supplied, so no option to up upgrade storage). It's got a ton of apps on it, and about 1.5GB of music. Yes, it would nice to have more music, and yes, I do periodically get "low on storage" messages and have to clean out some of the crap I'm not using. But claiming that it's useless with more than "a couple of apps" is way off. iOS 10 improved storage management considerably and freed up nearly a gig of storage on mine.

First world problems and nonsense.
I am great with tech which is why I self taught myself IT.
The general public is what you meant to say, and bad firmware.
I only use 2 gigabytes on my android and most of that is preinstalled apps that I don't want, its personal choice to have useless apps on their phone.
Its the hard credit search that appears on the credit file, i was wounded when the iphone7 deal was knocking around, as i took broadband out the same month and signed up to a new energy supplier! Woops!

I've just done this very deal and cancelled contract this morning. As usual customer service rep thinks O2 t&cs overrule the law of the land. Just had to be persistent and say I wanted the line cancelled now...immediately. Took about 10 mins. Not what I would call stressful at all & well worth it to get a SE for in perfect condition for just over £100.

Daily reminder (since these SE deals come up every day) that 16GB is extremely tight nowadays. But probably fine if you just want a "smart dumbphone" and don't want to put more than a couple of apps on it.

Don't .......still fighting the evils aka o2, who keep on promising disconnection however not actioning or processing the request. Dreading a final bill would be in the range of hundreds as I do not trust them anymore.

I did this O2 refresh deal in April 2017 when they had the iPhone 6 on offer. Once I had cancelled the contract (paid it off) my credit score did drop but went back up after a month or two... not sure if this is the case for anyone else?

With the 500MB tariff it's £29.99 upfront and £18/month of which £3 is for the phone - £101.99 in theory. I've never done a Refresh deal, not sure it's worth the potential grief

How did you get the price to £115.99? Which tariff is it?

It's storage. Not ram!! And it may not be enough for your personal needs but plenty for others and doesn't make this a cold deal.

Opening post
The kind where you purchase the refurbbed phone with airtime contract then cancel the airtime contract and payoff the phone price within your 14 day cooling off period.
collect instore and order online

i will never use o2 in future, they've caused me so much hassle and don't now how to sort it out. I cancelled within 14days
Also seems unlocked, as works with Vodaphone (and Giffgaff) sims.

update just rang same day got phone and disconnected, paid off device. no issue with customer service.
just ordered the silver 16gb
but it doesnt matter, im going to process a return
i have ordered a 16gb which works out around 100£ less. i dont think an extra 50gb is worth that.
so i will try again wtih this model
You've inserted the sim that came with phone?
You've made a couple of calls to 202?
That should link the device with the contract number
Make sure you've inserted the correct number and password on the unlocking form
but going to return back the 64gb and order a 16gb - for half the price and try again
pay as you go prices are around the 180 mark for 16gb and around 300 for the 64gb
contract is cheaper? unless i am missing something
My order went through after the fraud team called me an hour later to confirm some details - apparently I'm in a dodgy area!
Just placed my order which was accepted but after order confirmation it says it takes up to 24 hours to review my order - is this usual practice or am I 'iffy'? Only took out a new Vodafone contract this week for myself so am thinking that may affect it :disappointed:
Is unlocking necessary?
on chat, the guy is saying you need phone for 6 months before unlock
Phone arrives and your happy with it
Insert the sim (comes with it)
Turn off data
Make a few calls to 202 (don't speak to anyone, just play around with the various menu options)
Fill in and submit the online unlocking form
Unlock here
Go on live chat and ask them also to unlock it (as a back up)
Wait approximately 24hrs for the unlocking successful email (24hrs - could take longer, could be less time)
Phone O2 speak to customer services (not cancellations or any other dept)
Tell them you want to pay off the device and then cancel the contract under 14 day cooling off period
I personally wouldn't bother with the move to payg malarkey (no need, if you speak to right person)
Any arguments, just say you want to speak to someone else or put the phone down and try again
Your aim here is for them to disconnect the line
Keep checking over the next 24hrs your phone should say no service
hth
If anyone wants to tweak the above please feel free
ordered one
can you please also advise on next steps please
thanks
The price for the phone is the same regardless of what you pick.
What's the exact method when it arrives? I'm assuming
- Call them up and request to unlock it
- Once that's done, request to pay the device off in full
- After that, request to cancel airtime and ensure direct debits are cancelled
What number(s) do I call? I have 14 days to do all this right?
the iphone itself was bought on the 2 June 2017 (apple confiemd this to me), and was reported with a serious fault to apple on the 22.June.2017 (again Apple confiemd this to me)
however this repair was never carried out, it looks like it was just returned to 02
Unfortunatly for me I ended up with this iphone which was in excellent condition with not a mark/scratch anywhere to be seen, however the front facing camera does not work and strickly speaking 02 should not have sold the phone
I am supposed and I stree supposed to be getting a replacement tomorrow morning but as yet I have not had any email or sms to confirm delivery, 02 shocking customer service strikes again
Do
The
64gb work out
Anyone know if that means the price of the phone will increase by £48 when/if they come back in stock. Or is that related to the contract cost ?
Thinking of getting another. But not sure if to hold out for when the 16Gb's come back into stock, or go for a 64Gb, but that is double the cost
Why let us place orders saying 'In stock' and then cancel it after?
I was assured their current 'in stock' 64GB models are absolutely 100% in stock so I've got one of the Gold ones coming.
Yes I have Mr think smarty pants! Hav u read mine?!! ---It takes you to the deal doesn't say oos!!!
Okay, thanks guys!
I thought I would have had a warranty? Or is it because I paid my device off?
Received a follow up text saying they can't dispatch yet as they're out of stock. I contacted their live chat and was assured my order wouldn't be cancelled, and was told my order would be shifted up in priority as soon as they get stock in.
So worth checking every now and then in case they get stock.
When will they release that?
Also are they likely to get stock of the 16GB models again?
I don't know why they have accepted the order, did credit check and now refusing with the excuse of OOS
1) C grade - perfect - warranty Jan 18
2) B grade - dint on top edge - warranty Aug 17 (sent it back)
3) B grade (replacement) perfect - warranty December 17
4) C grade - perfect - Warranty March 18 (even had the back cellophane still in place)
Given the choice I'd just go C (perfectly fine)
Got to checkout and told my choice was out of stock
also it looks really,really nice.
But I wasn't arguing as to the usefulness of credit scores, just to the fact that they do exist!
However as stated on here, there is no credit score in reality. It's their opinion on you, taking into account the financial data they hold.
Every time you make a credit application (hard search) the creditor will use the info from reference agencies and create their own score. They do not use any other credit score.

Sorry if silly question
I had a 16GB 5S. It was, as I said, extremely tight with more than a couple of apps on it. Was it useless, no, but then that's your strawman that I never actually said. But tight, heck yes. Again, if you don't do huge amounts with it (i.e. a bit like a compromise between smartphone and dumbphone) it's fine.
Do the GB sizing yourself (with friends) and determine whether you need 16GB, 32GB, 64GB or 128GB.
This is because they know nothing about how you use your iPhone and what usage behaviour that you have.
This is hotukdeal, not retro_piespersonalpreference
So as it stands currently I have £15 months airtime plus a couple of days of usage to pay so hopefully under £120 for a perfectly fine SE with Apple warranty until March 2018.
I am wondering if the stress is worth me trying to the PAYG thing and save a couple of quid but I can assure you they wouldn't budge on letting me cancel the airtime with immediate effect! Argh!

Problem is the 16GB. I wouldn't say cold but I would say pass.
Unlike the phone part which you do have to pay off because of course you are keeping the phone.
Can anyone please help me find where exactly it says I can cancel in the cooling off period and not return the fone, I'm just worried if I order and pay off o2 wil say no, so if I had it written down somewhere to quote them
Chwrrs
Also, some people have said 'like new' still comes with chips and scratches...
I just insisted that it was cancelled immediately. (they might say that you will be billed the full 1st month but you can sort that out with a quick complaint email once the bill is paid if needs be).
So you pay the £96 then ask to cancel the contract part of the sim. They won't cancel the contract part until. The phone is paid off
iPhone SE has 2GB RAM, same as a 6S.
16GB is low but provided you don't have 100s of Apps and regularly back up your photos it will be fine.
I bought the newer 32GB version earlier this year but more than double the price. This is an absolute bargain. Have some heat
