I'm interested to know what the sound is like on Hisense TVs. Any owners that can comment?

sound is fine - performance is good to mixed - good for money but with some flaws

Utter rubbish. But then the sound on ALL TVs is utter rubbish. Just look at the amount of space for speakers in one and it's pretty obvious. If you're fussy about sound in the least, you'll have a sound bar at minimum. It's the price we pay for these skinny tellys with tiny bezels, and it's not a steep one.

No flatscreen TV has good sound. It's impossible.
That's why anyone who appreciates their ears uses external speakers.

Bought this a month ago for my son's bedroom. It has much better sound than my Samsung that's downstairs in the living room. It's thicker than the Samsung by a fair amount though, so it has room for decent speakers.

If you are calling ao.com make sure not to use their 0844 number on a mobile or get stung.

Warning about AO - they do not allow you to lick the screen and send back for a full refund! \x0d\x0a\x0d\x0a(in before the idiots)

had a look at other reviews, all pretty much the same, for price its a bargain, but don't expect the same performance as something that costs 4 times as much.... looking on a few TV forums its pleasantly surprised a lot of owners...

Thanks guys. Just a very in depth review on Brain Crowded, wow that was intense
Hisense are riding a wave of popularity, so a lot of people would rather have one over the established budget manufacturer Vestel who make sets like that.
Unfortunately there's nobody doing in-depth reviews and analysis of budget TVs so it's hard to get a sense of which one is actually better.

That would be my pick of the pair.
But many people just won't touch a Vestel panel.

"This 43 inch Hisense TV would be perfect for any living room." If you were actually watching 4k content and moved farther than about 2 foot from the screen you'd start loosing detail. Only way this would be good for a living room is if you don't mind seeing 720p quality from back where you're sitting. Would be a decent monitor but as someone said, might be wrgb. Obviously won't be actual HDR.

it is 4k tv, that just mean it will upscale 1080p content to look like 4k
paulpso
7 Jul 172#15
Yes. It's simply saying it can upscale a 1080p image to 2160p.
There's a whole 10 pages of comments for when it was on here over a year ago here.

Had mine over a year now and first tv since my old panny 720p from way back.....and wow the difference is unbelievable IMHO.
Audio is top notch considering most need a decent sound bar, where this is loud clear with bass as well.
The upscaling of SD and HD is really impressive, much better than I thought.
Only downside now since the last update is the epg is slow on the freeview, however I hardly use that but wouldn't be surprised to see a fix for that via another update....had about 5 in a year so they keep on top of things.
Overall well worth the money......is there better?yep sure is but would cost more so boils down to your budget.

Is the Samsung worth the extra £130?

Must say brought this TV a couple of months ago from AO ended up costing me £269 due to price match and AO first purchase discount. Couldn't be more pleased with the picture and sound, maybe not as good as some much more expensive top end sets however just as good as any mid range set I've purchased from Samsung previously. For the money an absolute bargain.

So what's the deal with this TV? It seems too good to be true, is it 10 bit HDR?
Looking at the Currys website it states it is HDR10
EndlessWaves to darkmetal
7 Jul 17#33
HDR10 is a content format. The HDR support on this - and every other TV at the same price - is limited to reading HDR10 video and displaying it using a normal TV's hardware so you don't lose out on the (remote) chance that something is only broadcast in HDR.
This TV doesn't have the local dimming or extended colour gamut for HDR's headline features like brighter highlights or more saturated colours. If you want decent implementations of that then you should be looking at three times the price right now.

You cant upscale something to 4k if you're not capable of outputting 4k.
Well ok, you *technically* could, but there'd be no point, as you'd just have to downscale it again to the native pixel count.
So yea, this is a real 4k TV. It's just trying to say that if you watch 1080p content on it, it will scale it up to 4k output. Which is....well, not really a 'selling point' since pretty much any TV scales content like this.
Whether this actually improves picture quality is debatable, though.

Owned it for a year now and it's great if you want a TV on a budget. As previous comments meant appstore is pretty terrible but most of us have devices these days that make any TV a smart TV. Sound is good as well, we also have a cheap blaupunkt TV which the sound on was so bad we had to buy a sound bar. Was worried we'd have to do the same for this but we didn't!

Good price but total bull plop saying "It’s Ultra HD Certified with 4K upscaling, which boosts standard HD to near 4K for amazing image quality" That's just pure marketing bull crap. Yes it upscales otherwise you'd be watching a tiny image with a big black border but it cannot boost extra detail to create 'near 4K' unless it features the new Sony 4Kguessimater circuit.
It would be like me saying urinating form the top of a motorway bridge onto passing traffic recreates the struggle of working class man though the ages. It simply does not, it just gets you arrested.

I have the 43M3000 connected to my pc, and it has been in constant use since January. No problems at all. There was a firmware upgrade last year to enable 60Hz UHD. You do need to have a graphics card with appropriate HDMI output (2.0, 2.1 can't remember at the moment). It makes an excellent monitorfor office/productivity work.
