I have the Amazon Underground app but I cannot download anything - it keeps instructing me to uipdate my app but there is no download link to update it and external links go through to the App Store page without any download button.
Anyone else experiencing this?

OK I fixed it by clearing the app DATA (not just the Cache), then rebooting my phone before logging back in (it didnt work when I tried it without rebooting). The icon to download suddenly came back. Good luck.

From the article posted : "In good news, Amazon says it won't turn the lights out for Underground app and game owners, even when its online-authentication system shuts down in 2019. However, Amazon will stop paying developers for the time accrued by their app users exactly six months after the Underground app store is formally shuttered this summer—so it's easy to imagine that developers won't necessarily keep up with patches at that point."
What bright spark at Amazon decided this and why? It's as bizarre and poor as the one made on their sister site IMDB when, against an outcry not to, they shut down the discussion boards under all movies leaving people with few reasons to continue using the site.
In this case I think Amazon have just conceded that even when they are giving away apps and games for free they still can't compete with the Google play store. I'm slightly disappointed to see it go but the layout was shoddily designed and the apps weren't updated when they should have. Sometimes apps were 3 or 4 versions behind the same one for download from Google. In the end I only used it to reinstall old versions of apps whenever an update broke one and it was the only place I could find the old working version to reinstall.
Real pity that. I know a lot of people didn't like the permissions and they could have marketed it WAY better, but it was a good way to get around those horrible intrusive IAPs Android developers like to force down our throats. Just hope those of us who have already 'bought' a lot of games on there can continue to play them ad/IAP free...
