I know the kids haven't even finished yet and already talking about uniforms and back to school! I hate with a passion dragging bored kids round the shops in late August panicing abut where we are going to get polo shirts and black (NOT GREY) trousers from! So if you want to get really organsied, get it out the way now while they are still in school and you can do it in peace!
The thread will be added to as more events / discounts take place - feel free to add suggestions in comments.
From tomorrow (6th July) Aldi are taking pre-orders for their highly anticipated £5 school uniforms for delivery from Thursday 13th and also instores from 13th as well. These will sell out fast due to the price so be ready to order on the 6th or queue on the 13th
Aimed at 3 to 11 years old, you get -
Sweatshirt in choice of colours (£1.40)
Twin pack of polo shirts (£1.65)
Pair of trousers OR a skirt (£1.95)
They will also be selling leather shoes for £6.99, trainers for £4.99 and those lovely gym plimsolls for £1.79
Next cheapest seems to be Asda George who offer free click and collect to any Asda store
Asda also do a college / sixth form range for older kids if they still need to wear a uniform and a fit solutions range for larger kids, kids who need a longer length and kids who need a slimmer fit. They also offer a no quibble 100 day satisfaction guarantee on all of their schoolwear so if you aren't happy, return t with your receipt and they will either exchange or refund you.
Twin pack polo shirts in choice of colours from £2.50 (Depending on age)
Sweatshirts in choice of colours from £2 (Age dependent)
Skirts from £3 and trousers from £3
So same uniform would cost £7.50 at Asda
Sainsburys TU will have a 25% off event before the kids go back to school but they are not giving any details away yet. They offer free click and collect to store on orders £15 and over.
Polo shirts are only available in a 3 pack from TU and they start at £3.50 or £2.62 on 25% off event (87p each)
Skirts only come in a twin pack and start from £2.70 or £2.02 on 25% off event - just £1.01 each!
Trousers only come in a twin pack and start at £7 or £5.25 on 25% off event (£2.63 each)
Sweatshirts only come in a twin pack and start from £4 or £3 on 25% days (£1.50 each)
So if you were to get it all on 25% event you could get the same uniform for £4.25 for girls and £5.87 for boys
You will also need to name label every single item of clothing in the hope it doesn't get lost, they do iron in ones for £2.50 delivered for 25 on eBay or for a pound more you get 50 for £3.50 delivered
Also waterproof / dishwasher proof stickers for shoes, water bottles and lunchboxes are really handy too - you can get a pack of 50 for £3.99 delivered. Same seller does 25 for £2.99 as well
The stuff for my boys has arrived this morning, £35 in total, amazing value, just need to get a pair of shoes for him

Is Embroidery logo of School on Uniform mandatory as my son will go in September and one of school staff said yes.

Different for different schools. The outer top needs to have the logo on, so my lad can have these plain shirts under his logo'd jumper in the cooler months.

Now the items are £1.25 , which makes it £3.75 for the full uniform .

yep I went to buy mine this morning from my local Aldi and the prices are cheaper than advertised.
the lady on the til said they were only advised this morning of the price reductions - so price tickets had to be changed to reflect the lower price.
Happy days, bought loads - can't believe how cheap they are.
Some things such as shoes are the same price as advertised originally.

Try your local Facebook pages - lot of local companies seem to do it, if you send stuff away you usually get stung with high postage

I remember reading a HUKD thread about the Aldi school uniform, maybe about two years ago? Stories about women taking people's items out their trolleys, bust ups in the car park, eeek!
I toodled over to mine and it was all very civilised, thankfully.

That reminds me, when Wilko's put the big bars of dairy choc cheap on boxing day some tw*t stole a bar from my hand when i wasn't looking. That was interesting, me shouting at this old muslim lady pretending she didn't know any English while people were looking at toys . Well, I've been for a long time and it's the first time that happened, but no fights or anything at least

I bought Aldi school uniform - pants, vests, tights, socks, polo shirts, school shirts, skirts and sports shorts from Aldi last year. They lasted longer, washed and ironed better and were overall better quality and value than the other supermarket clothes I bought (including Sainsburys which I wasn't impressed with at all). So a big thumbs up from me!

We found the same, I had to order extra uniform via Asda late last year, it looks tired and worn out, the Aldi uniform still looks presentable after an iron in comparison and some I will still be able to hand down to my younger ones. Just wish they did secondary aged trousers and shirts.

I wouldnt recommend Asda either. The jumpers' colours faded after a few wash. The white poloshirts got wrinkled. I stick to m&s.
Good deal for those who would buy from Aldi. Heat added
