Originally £39.99 which is about the going rate BUT my local Aldi (Corby, Northamptonshire) couple of dozen of these are all reduced to £19.99. Not sure if just local or not.

admit angle could be wider, temp was an issue once, but just changes the aircon settings to include screen. phone now an ice box & cabin still gets chilled

Ypu cant go wrong with the apeman action cams on amazon that can be used as a dash cam also, accesories are peanuts also. Quality picture on playback and also have wide angle lens. I got mine for 27 quid on the amazon deals day so keep your eyes open. If you you tube apeman vs gopro youk see what i mean

I wasn't saying it wasn't any good, as I wouldn't know, just that as it doesn't have the right processor it isn't a g1w. I couldn't find any reference whatever to the sensor it uses. as far as I'm aware, most g1w use a generic off the shelf third party case, so you see all sorts of hardware in the same case.

Apart from their wide angle lenses, good Dashcams also have larger sensors than your average mobile phone that work better in low light, and mobile phones may not fair so well getting cooked in a windscreen on a hot sunny day, especially with their large lithium batteries.

Don't bother driving around looking for these in the Manchester area as I've just done. Won't get it cheaper than £34.99. I asked why it's cheaper in other stores and was advised each store has different rules with regards to reducing stuff. :disappointed:

I don't know about that as the chipset it uses seems to include the ARO330. Also the chipset can record in the much higher quality .MOV file format (AVI is junk for recording) at 1080p but this is from collating all the information I can find. I reckon it might be ok - as long as it does record MOV files at 1080p - but if it records AVI it probably won't record quality blown up footage.

would have been up for this, but discovered Autoboy app so just use that. it can upload straight to you tube, but I don't bother with that, just let google photos back the files up anyway.

The only problem with Dash Cam apps is 'most' phone cameras do not have a wide angle lens.
I was going to use an old Samsung Galaxy S2 as a dash cam but it only covered the centre of the windscreen. My old G1W-H however went from corner to corner so I ended up buying another one.

Looks like another clone of G1H-x, so for this price is great choice as entry cam.

Granted the case looks a bit like a g1w, but that's where any similarity ends:- "Processor: ANGUO3522" It may be good, or it may not , but g1w it isn't.
A real G1W should have a Novatek 96550 and a aptina ar0330 in it although there are plenty of vendors with "G1W" that don't.

It is national I think , bought from derby , none on display or on shelf asked the staff and they brought it from inside.it comes with 32 gb card (non branded) and 3 year warranty

Does anyone know if this one can be wired up with a wiring kit? Been waiting for a cheap one to come up but I don't want wires hanging all over the place.
